I have developed a ASP.NET2.0 web site with SQL 2000 backend and number users to site is approx. 5-10.
I have developed one Administration page which controls user roles to access this site; onclick of Update button in admin page the role gets updated into the system. I have written simple query in the code to update the user roles into database; Ajax implemented in admin page;
Issue: If 2-3 users tries to update the admin roles; latest update reflected in the database and same displayed in the admin page;
I am looking for a solution to solve this problem by application code change since i dont have flexible to change the database end; if one users update the system, it should not allow other users to perform any operation; please let me know if any standard approach can be implemented with minor code change.
Thanks in Advance,

I recently exported/imported an SP2010 site collection from Dev to Prod. The site collection had about 90 sites, which were all driven from a site template. Once the export/import had taken place, I created an additional 15 sites (in Prod), using the original
site template that was created in the Dev environment. Everything seemed to be working just fine, but I found an issue with the Picture Library Slideshow Web Parts (PLSWP) on all the sites that were created in Prod. Basically, I have a Picture Library, and
any pictures added to this library show up in the PLSWP. The original 80 site's PLSWP works fine, but the new 15 sites will not show the pictures through the PLSWP (the viewer just shows up blank). Here is the difference in the html output of the picture viewer:
PLSWP from Dev:

I cannot save as a site template when i enable Labels within a document library under Information management policy settings.
I have tried this on several installs but cannot get it to save once labels are enabled.
Can someone try to replicate this.
Just enable labels on a document library and try to save the site as a template.
With our 2007 site(s) we had a custom module (we developed) to swap out the application.master with our own master page which resembled the site default.master. This worked great.
After the upgrade, out site's main pages looked fine however when navigating to the admin type pages (settings/viewlists etc.) pages the module stopped working.
1.) I have figured out something things with respect to what is going on but am still at a loss to how best resolve. We want the layouts/admin pages to have the same master page as the main user pages. I have read in 2010 this is now possible.
How can I achieve this?
2.) Currently, when navigating to the sites/settings page the site is using template/layouts/layoutsv3.master as the master page. The settings.aspx page has DynamicMasterPageFile="~masterurl/default.master" . It was my understanding that
when DynamicMasterPageFile was set to default.master it would use the master page from the site. So, with that said I am confused why it is using layoutsv3.master
any help would be appreciated
I have a report on my local machine that is running just fine usiing report viewer 10. and VS2010
After copying from local machine to host site I get the below error when I run it.
Line 1: <%@ page language="VB" autoeventwireup="false" inherits="Reports_YTDExpenses, App_Web_lxq5vdkk" %>Line 2: Line 3: <%@ Register assembly="Microsoft.ReportViewer.WebForms, Version=10.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a" namespace="Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms" tagprefix="rsweb" %>Line 4: Line 5: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
I have set the site default page is default.aspx and set that page allowed without user authentication
if we call http://www.mydomain.com/default.aspx, it is working without authentication
but if we are calling without filename (http://www.mydomain.com) , it is redirected to http://www.mydomain.com/user/login.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2f.
the problem is, if we are calling without filename (http://www.mydomain.com), it should not redirect to login.aspx page
because the default.aspx page is not accecpted as the domain default page.
Notes : I have converted asp.net 2.0 to asp.net 4.0 web application. after conversion conly this problem arises
We are using SharePoint OOTB Site Users webpart to display all the users in the respectives SharePoint groups. Its working fine. But, when we logged in as a user who has a member of visitors or members SharePoint groups, the user can able to see the "Add
New User" link. Eventually, the link should not be displayed for members and visitors group.
Could any one face this issue? Is this bug in the SharePoint itself?

We have developed a bilingual portal (English/Arabic). In variations I have set option to "Recreate a new target page when the source page is republished". But it is not working as per my expectations; I deleted the page in Arabic site (target site)
and again published the page in English site but it is not creating a page in Arabic site. Please guide me on this issue. I appreciate your suggestions.
We have developed bilingual (Englsh/Arabic) variations portal. The page breadcrumb on the home page shows "Home > Home". On other pages it shows like "Home > Home > HR". How we can get rid of the extra Home link of site collection.
Does anyone know if it's possible to prevent a website folder from being deployed? There was a way in FrontPage to tag a folder with "do not publish" and can't find anything similar in VS'05. The reason is that I'm trying to avoid a folder overwrite and prevent the contents from getting deleted.
Any advice or suggestions is greatly appreciated.
I am developing an inranet site for my company using Sharepoint 2007 and I have encountered an issue with the site navigation's drop down menu. When you expand the dropdown menu and it is expanded into the DataView grid, the column filter
text gets mixed in with the site navigation drop down menu text.
Is there a fix for this issue?
I have a snapshot JPEG of what I am referring to but do not know how to attach it to here.
Thanks for any help!
