data connection specified witha server-relative link

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 23, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

I keep getting an error when viewing my form in preview that says: "One or more of the data connections in your form are specified with a server-relative link, but no publish location has been defined for them.....To enable the server-relative link publish your form to a Microsoft Office Server."
Well the problem is that I already did that and the form cannot find the data connection to open the form in browser mode. I created a sql data connection and converted it to a ucdx file which is located in a data conn. library in Sharepoint. The form was previously opening and working correctly when I had 4 different data connections that I created the same way as this current connection. I removed those data connections and remapped the fields to the newer one then re-published the form but now I'm getting this error message when I preview the form and it no longer works in browser.  The only difference between the connections is that I created 1 query from the same server to combine all the other data tables I was using before. I wanted 1 clean connection vs. 4 separate ones. If I ignore the error in preview, the data is correctly being displayed from that connection. I double checked my settings in Central Admin and they seem to be fine but I just don't know what the problem is. Help please =)

Error adding connection in Server Explorer: "Unable to add data connection. ExecuteScalar requires a

I'm using Visual Studio 2008, and my database is SQL Server 2000. I want to add a connection to the Server Explorer in VS. The Data source is Microsoft SQL Server (SqlClient). After entering in all my information and I click Test Connection, it is successful. But when I click OK, I get the error: Unable to add data connection. ExecuteScalar requires an open and available connection. The connection's current state is closed.What's going on here?

Server Explorer Data Connection to ORACLE in VS2008 on Vista x64?

How do I set up a connection to an ORACLE database from Visual Studio 2008's Server Explorer in Vista x64?

If I install the 32-bit ORACLE client, I can configure a Data Connection in Server Explorer, but I can't use it to connect to the database because I can't setup a DSN in the Control Panel (the Oracle provider doesn't show up because it's a 64-bit OS).

If I install the 64-bit ORACLE client, I can configure a DSN in Control Panel, but I can't configure a Data Connection in Server Explorer, because VS2008 is a 32-bit app and throws a BadImageFormatException when it tries to load the 64-bit OCI.

Is there a way to do this without moving to a 32-bit development environment?

Data Connection relative to a site.

I have made a request for leave form that allows a user to select a manager from a dropdown menu.  The dropdown is populated by a 'managers' list within the department's site.  Now that the form has become popular I need to move it to the other departments within the company.  Each department has their own site, each site has their own 'managers' list.  I converted the data connection to be relative and point to http://server/DataConnectionLibrary/managers.udcx.   I then create a DataConnectionLibrary in the specific department site (http://server/Organization/HR/DataConnectionLibrary/managers.udcx_)  I modify this managers.udcx, to use the GUID of the actual managers list that exists in HR, I have also changed the site URL in the .udcx to point to http://server/Organization/HR. However, when I open this form, it is still reading from the initial managers list and not the HR managers list.  Is there a step I am missing?  I have 12 departments that want to use this form and was hoping to not have to deploy it 12 times.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

        Dts.TaskResult = Dts.Results.Success

MS SQL Server: Search All Tables, Columns & Rows For Data or Keyword Query

If you need to search your entire database for specific data, this query will come in handy.

So when a client needs a custom report or some sort of custom development using Great Plains, most of the time I will have to track down the data in the system by running this query and find the table(s) it is in.

server side does not save data when using POST data to another URL using WebRequest

 I am using a IIS 7.5 on Windows 7. I have a simple application that uses System.Net.WebRequest to POST data to another URL (in fact, the server side URL is on my local computer and it is hosted in IIS 7.5).

  1.  The problem is the server does not save data from client although on the client side codes when I debug and I see the OK message return from the code line

   response.StatusDescription; // this has value of "OK"
2. How can I debug the server code side where to receive the request from client side who posts the data ?

The following is the codes for client who posts data using System.Net.WebRequest, and codes for server side who received posted data to save to database.

Client side codes: // also run on my local computer

public string PostIntegrationXml(XmlDocument xmlSubmitDoc)

A connection could not be made to the report server http://localhost/ReportServer.

  • I created a Report using Business Intelligence Studio. Its working working well, i can able to view records. But when i try to deploy the report an error occurs specifying that "A connection could not be made to the report server http://localhost/ReportServer. (Microsoft Report Designer)".
  • I open the IIS 7 and find out virtual directories "Reports" and "ReportServer" are available.
  • I check on the browser and type "http://localhost/reports".  I find the browser direct to this url: http://localhost/reports/Pages/Folder.aspx and find error specifying the following one:

         Error:The report server is not responding. Verify that the report server is running and can be accessed from this computer.

  • when i type http://localhost/reportmanager, i found the error:
