Serve to server Transaction Replication error

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 23, 2010    Points: 0   Category :Sql Server

I have windows 2003 sp2 servers each hosts SQL Server 2008 SP1 standard edition. I am trying to replicate both servers, using the tutorial available in the online documentation <Tutorial: Replicating Data Between Continuously Connected Servers> which can be found at: ms-help://MS.SQLCC.v10/MS.SQLSVR.v10.en/s10rp_1devconc/html/9c55aa3c-4664-41fc-943f-e817c31aad5e.htm

I have created the users (repl_logreader, repl_distibution, repl_snapshot, and repl_merge and setting their security. Then I have created the distibutor, setting database security as mentioned in the document, and last creating the publication with a snapshot to be run immediately, distributor and publisher are on the same server and the publication will be pushed to the subscriber. Once the publication is created succesfully, I am checking the agents to see the errors. I am always stuck with the following two error messages:

1- snapshot agent error:

Error messages:

Message: Failed to create AppDomain "mssqlsystemresource.dbo[runtime].1090".
The domain manager specified by the host could not be instantiated.
Failed to create AppDomain "mssqlsystemresource.dbo[runtime].1091".

Error message in opening a view after Replication server restored

Hi, Yesterday Replication was broken as Publisher was down. After it was restored, I tried to open a view in Subscriber and I get the following error message [Microsoft] [ODBC SQL Server Driver] [SQL Server] Login failed for user 'Repl admin'   Any suggestions to get around this problem.   Thanks in advance -Jaya

replication error in SQL SERVER 2008

we got the following error

The distribution agent failed to create temporary files in 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\COM' directory. System returned errorcode 5. (Source: MSSQL_REPL, Error number: MSSQL_REPL21100)
Get help: http://help/MSSQL_REPL21100

by looking at http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/956032, which suggest the issue is related to "Distribution Profile for OLEDB streaming" profile, but in our case, we use default profile for distribution agent.

after we reinitailized subscription, the issue was solved, but it came back after a while.

any input will be appreciated

SQL SErver 2008 Merge Replication: Alter Trigger cause syntax error on subscriber site

I have 2 clustered instances running on SQL Server 2008 SE-64 patch level 10.0.2531.0. These is one DB on these 2 instances (compatibility_level=80)under merge replication. now I need to change one trigger to add "NOT FOR REPLICATION". One publisher site all is ok but on subscriber site it causes Error 102 Severity 15 State 1 Incorrect Syntax near 'dbo'.

After tracing the error in profiler, I captured the incorrect syntax as below:

exec('ALTER TRIGGER [dbo].[trgBusinessEntityAllocationUpdate] on [dbo].[BusinessEntityAllocation]

obviously, there is an duplicated part of object name. but the script was generated by replication engine. How could it happened? can anyone help?

SQL Server Replication Error Cannot drop the table

Can any one help me on the below error.

I have a transactional replication (pull). All of a shudden it failed to transfer the data. The error message is

The concurrent snapshot for publication 'Woolworths Petrol - Filtered' is not available because it has not been fully generated or the Log Reader Agent is not running to activate it. If generation of the concurrent snapshot was interrupted, the Snapshot A

I tried to reinitialize the subscriber and it pops up the below message.

Cannot drop the table 'table_name' because it is being used for replication. (Source: MSSQLServer, Error number: 3724)

I don't want to drop the table.

Please help.

SQL Server 2008 R2 Merge error in Replication agents checkup job

We have a customer with three publications, one distributor/publisher and on subscriber using merge replication.

looking at the history of the job replication agents checkup, every entry shows a message of:

Executed as user: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM. The replication agent has not logged a progress message in 10 minutes. This might indicate an unresponsive agent or high system activity. Verify that records are being replicated to the destination and that connections to the Subscriber, Publisher, and Distributor are still active. [SQLSTATE 01000] (Message 20554).  The step succeeded.

Throughout the day this error still appears as this job runs every 10 minutes but replication works fine. The issue is at some point throughout the night the replication stops with that same message. Sometimes it stops at 6:00:00am, sometimes at 6:40:00am, others at 6:50:00am. All we have to do to fix it is go into the replication monitor and stop synchronizing and then start synchronizing and replication will run all day until it stops next morning - again.

What is causing that error message? I have checked the other logs and there is nothing running at those times. in addition, no one has logged into the server that early (they don't start arriving until 7:15 or later).

What can i do to correct the issue so the message stops happening.

error occurred while I tried to setup transaction replication with updateable subscription

when I tried to setup transactional replication with updatable subscriptions between two nodes, an error occurred.

The operation could not be performed because OLE DB provider "SQLNCLI" for linked server "REPL1 " was unable to begin a distributed transaction. Changed database context to 'database1'.

OLE DB provider "SQLNCLI" for linked server "REPL1" returned message "No transaction is active.". (.Net SqlClient Data Provider)
May I know whether in order to setup transactional replication, do I need to run replication agents under domain users or local users?

thank you

SQLCF 3.5 SP2 Replication Issue: An instance of the SQL Server Reconciler error object cannot be cre

Hi, we have a desktop application synchronizing with our SQL server using merge replication via IIS6.

Previously we used SQL2005 Ent database server, SQLCF 3.5SP1 tools and runtime library were installed on IIS machine, the desktop application was compiled with SQLCF 3.5 SP1 runtime as well.

Last week we upgraded our server to SQL 2008 R2, the application has been broken since then.

We tried to upgrade to SQLCF 3.5 SP2 tools and runtime on IIS ==> didn't help
We tried to install SQLCF 3.5 SP2 on the desktop where the application running (but left the application unchanged) ==> didn't help

Could anybody here help me with this? Do I need to re-compile my application?

Here are some debug information:

SQL Server Database Transaction

A transaction is a group of SQL commands executed together as a single component of work to be accomplished. If all of these commands succeed, then a transaction is committed - the changes to the data are made final. If any of the commands within a transaction fail, then the entire transaction is cancelled, or in SQL Server terms, the transaction will be rolled back.

Transactions are one of the things that keep your data safe, but they're not necessarily easy to understand. Here's some help:

Error Handling: Throwing Custom Exception Types from a Managed COM+ Server Application

Exception handling semantics in .NET are based on type, so you can create custom exceptions that have their own properties and methods. In .NET, exceptions are first-class citizens, and since they're the built-in error handling mechanism, all .NET-compliant languages must support exceptions. In addition, COM+ services are available to .NET code as Enterprise Services, so you can leverage exceptions in your Enterprise Services design. In this article the author describes custom exceptions, throwing exceptions across COM interop boundaries, and working with Enterprise Services.

All my server-controls became unrecognized!!! like there's compilation error or web.config missing!

please help - the problem is in post subject.

I have lots of warnings with following text:

"Warning 10 Element 'HyperLink' is not a known element. This can occur if there is a compilation error in the Web site, or the web.config file is missing. C:\Users\Pavel\Documents\Visual Studio 2010\WebSites\BioWebSite\ToScientist.aspx 26 18 C:\...\BioWebSite\"

But web.confg is there! And there's no compilation error!

Site builds just fine. And If I upload it to my hoster - it works!

But with all these errors I cant add controls to pages - VS2010 adds hyperlink without ID, and intelisens stoped to work.

Strange, but in my other project (web-application) I have no such difficuty.
