Munitions Export

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 23, 2010    Points: 0   Category :.NET Framework
We have a product that ships with .NET 3.5 SP1. It contains a VB .NET editor that allows a user to write their own "scripts" using VB and our own interfaces. I want to know what the U.S. munitions export restrictions are for the .NET 3.5 SP1 Framework, in particular how it relates to cryptography and the cryptographic libraries contained therein. How do I investigate further?

Export Visio Database Table Names to Excel

If you use the Enterprise Architect edition of Microsoft Visio for data modeling regularly, then there is a good chance that at some point you've wanted to export just the table names into Excel. You might want to do this to map logical ERD entities to physical data model tables, track project status by entity, or track overlap between database versions.

Configuring Profile Image Export in SharePoint 2010

It's no secret that I am thrilled with the new social features of SharePoint 2010. I am most excited about the new Profile Picture handling. I strongly believe that the more we can show the faces of our colleagues to one another the more connected we will feel. Clearly Microsoft feels that way as witnessed by the many features that make use of the Profile Image like the Activity Feed and Colleagues list

Cannot export from a Report in SharePoint integrated mode in a server hardend environment

We have installed Reporting Services 2008 integrated with MOSS with SQL Server 2008 on a 64 bit platform.

The environment has worked fine in test (but the servers are not hardend).

With the production environment, any attempt to export from a report into another format (eg excel, tiff etc) results in an unexpected error within SharePoint requiring closing the browser and reopening.

There are no details behind the error. We can also find no traces of the error within any of the logs (SharePoint, Reporting Services, Windows event log etc)

When the report is opened directly from Reporting Services (ie http://servername:8080/reportserver) the report exports fine. Similarly, if the report is opened directly from Report Builder 2, or through opening Report Builder 2 from SharePoint there is no issue. This issue only happens when the report is invoked directly through SharePoint.

We can only assume that this issue has something to do with server hardening/UAC as we have

export rsa key container

1) I want to create a rsa key in c# and export the container. I am having difficulty. I create container like this:

CspParameters cspParams = new CspParameters();            cspParams.KeyContainerName = "XML_ENC_RSA_KEY";CspParameters cspParams = new CspParameters();
cspParams.KeyContainerName = "XML_ENC_RSA_KEY";

The msdn example says I can export the container with this syntax:
aspnet_regiis -pa "XML_ENC_RSA_KEY" "NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE". This does not work on my XP Host PC. I belive this is applicable for Windows 2003 Server.
So what is the correct syntax for exporting rsa key container from XP host?

2) To get aspnet_regiis.exe path I did something like this:

string winPath = Environment.GetEnvironmentVariable("windir");
string fullPath = winPath + @"\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727" + @"\aspnet_regiis.exe";

But this path may be different for each host, based on the .NET verison installation.
Is there a way to get the aspnet_regiis.exe path from registry or a environment varaible?

3) Once I get the path to aspnet_regiis.exe I want to invokve it from c# like this.
Is this code correct?

ProcessStartInfo startIn

ASP.NET Excel Export Issue

I am trying to export data from SP to a .xlsx sheet. Total no of rows is more  than 15000 with total of 13 columns.The data is generated with the help of SQL Server SP. Till this point it is working fine. However while exporting to excel I do not get any data , the excel  has blank content.

If I have records less than 12000 it generated the excel report with  relevant data. However as row increases the report is blank.

Also the excel is generated through the code but when I deploy to server and try to generate it generates a blank excel.

 Please advice what needs to be done. I have tried multiple options but none works.

Export altered gridview to Excel

Hello... stuck on this one!!  In a gridview RowDataBound named gvwResult I am altering one of the cells with a value retrieved from the query.

I have added:

if (hdnExchangeTo.Value.ToString() != "1")
            for (int i =0; i < gvwResult.Rows.Count; i++)
                gvwResult.Rows[i].Cells[7].Text = ExchangeCurrency(gvwResult.Rows[i].Cells[7].Text.ToString());

to the common code to export to Excel:

        Response.Buffer = true;
        Response.Charset = "";
        Response.ContentType = "application/vnd.ms-excel";
        System.IO.StringWriter sw = new Syste

sql server 2008 import/export wizard... completely useless??

import/export wizard in 2000 had lots of options.

I could copy databases without a care in the world. Including constraints, stored proc., AND the data, etc.

Now, with v2008, the wizard is dumbed down too much. It's a "stupid" copy function that fails on the first constraint it meets.

"Copy database.." is not an option here: it needs sysadmin on both source and destination server.

Re-adding the constraints manually is not an option either: the database is WAY too large.

I'm actually hoping there is a temporary bug in the import/export wizard. Each option (and you have THREE...) returns with a new error.

Googling, I found I am not alone:

This post is exactly my situation. Here's what his post says: (bolded key parts)

I'm trying to get used to sql server 2008 having been forced to upgrade by my isp. I need to back up my key db on a weekly remote schedule, so have been trying to use ssms to export data from my remote db to a local copy.

Page Header, PrintOnFirstPage=False, HTML render fine, PDF export leaves extra space

As it says in the header.Setup:SSRS 2008, VS 2008 SP1Local Mode, rdlc fileDesign:Make a 1/2" Page header with a text box in it. Set PrintOnFirstPage=FalseBody contains a Table that spans multiple "hard" pages.Results:Renders to HTML in the report viewer just fine.PDF export leaves blank 1/2" at the top of page 1. With no header for page 1, I had hoped it would remove the extra space the same as in the report viewer.Question:Any way to tell SSRS not to leave space when page header is turned off for the first page?Attempts:Tried putting everything in a rectange in the header and set the visibility to false. Still leaves space.
