Binding A ReadOnly DP with OneWayToSource mode, possible?

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 23, 2010    Points: 0   Category :WPF

Hi guys,

I have a UserControl with a ReadOnly property.

Using MVVM, I want the View to be able to bind to the VM with a OneWayToSource mode.

But I get an error

The property cannot be set because it does not have an accessible set accessor.

Any idea for this issue?

Thanks

Binding Mode OneTime is not working properly

Hi,

I am binding a ListBox with Mode = OneTime as i want to bind it first time only , after that if data changes i dont want my listbox to take care of that

 <ListBox x:Name="_statusListBox"
           Margin="18,0"
           Background="Transparent" BorderThickness="0"
           ItemTemplate="{StaticResource StatusListBoxItemTemplate}"
           ItemsSource="{Binding Summary.ProjectStatusSummary,Mode=OneTime}"
           />

but it works randomly , somethimes it binds data and sometimes it does not

i want to know the reason of this random behavior

textbox in readonly mode does not bind in formview

 Hi

I was surfing the web about a bug that has asp.net about unability to bind a textbox which was set to readonly and does not bring any value when inserting data.  Some sites claim that readonly should be set in code behind in page load but it haven't work for me.

            TextBox txtCuota = (TextBox)fvPrecios.Row.FindControl("txtNewCuota");
            txtCuota.Attributes.Add("readonly", "readonly");

I was thinking in using a label instead for binding data but it didn't work either.  Is there an easy way to do this?
Maybe a hidden field?

regards

Edotom

firing Validation rules under One way binding Mode

Can Validation Rules fire When binding Mode is set to OneWay.?

If No : Is is Because the validation rules fire only when the source property changes and hence under oneway binding the source never changes and so the rules never fire.

Is there a workaround to Fire the validation rules Except invoking the explicitly.( Because i have triggered the save button to be enabled only when ther's no validation errors, So makin the user click and explicitly firing rules is not what i want.)

FormView ReadOnly mode

Is there any way to display a formview in readonly mode even when the datasource is empty? It shows up in InsertMode if I set the defaultmode to that but I want it to show up in readonly even if there is no data but right now it just doesn't display at all. Is there a way to do this?

Visibility property is a very powerful and yet often overlooked property available in both WPF and Silverlight. It enables you to set Visibility of certain UIElement objects to different states like: Visible, Collapsed and Hidden (not supported by Silverlight). This tutorial shows you how to use it and how to bind to Visibility property

Binding Nested Listviews in MVC ViewPage

I am a longtime .NET developer but for big applications and services.  This is my first asp.net project and I have chosen MVC.   I have a need for nesting a ListView within a ListView.  In this simple catalog app, I have EF 4 Entities that are Categories, SubCategories, ItemTypes, and Items.

My goal is to display a 5 column layout of SubCategories with their ItemTypes below them in a ViewPage.  I did just fine with it done out in C# as server directives such as:

    var subcats = Model.SubCategory.ToArray();
    var nrSubCats = subcats.Count();
    var rows = (nrSubCats/5) + (((nrSubCats % 5) > 0) ? 1 : 0);
    for (var row = 0; row < rows; row++)
    { %>
        <div style="width: 100%; float: left; clear: right;">
        <%
        var start = row * 5;
        for (var i = start; (i < start + 5) && (i < nrSubCats); i++)
        {
        var subcat = subcats[i];
        %>
            <div style="float: left; clear: right; width: 20%; margin-left: 5;">
                <h2> <%:subcat.Name%></h2>
                <ul>
                    <%
                    foreach (var its in subcat.ItemType)
                    {%>
                        <li>
                            <%:Html.

Dynamic WPF: Create Flexible UIs With Flow Documents And Data Binding

Flow documents offer enormous flexibility in arranging text layout and pagination, but they don't support data binding, so you can't dynamically change content. Here we build a component to solve that problem.
