Posted By:      Posted Date: September 23, 2010    Points: 0   Category :Windows Application

I'm creating a borderless form by setting this.FormBorderStyle = FormBorderStyle.None

When I show the form, if users press Alt-Tab to switch among applications, they can still see it. How can I disable it ?

Thanks a lot.

Can you hide the "Form Template Conflict" message?

We have 100s of Infopath 2003 forms published on our Sharepoint site (MOSS 2007).  These forms are updated constantly.  The problem we have is that anytime we change the form's design (ex. change wording on the form), the user will get the "Form Template Conflict" message when they click on the form.  This is very confusing to them, and although we've asked them to click on "Replace form", they still get confused.

This message is very confusing to anyone, not just a user.  We would like to suppress this message so that every single time we update a form, they don't have to see this.  I'm not sure why it even saves a copy locally on their machines, anyway.  The fact is that in 100% of all cases, they will need to replace the form on their computer.  Renaming the forms every time we edit them is not an option - there are too many and links would all be broken.

Can anyone tell us how to "hide" or "suppress" this error for our users?  Or design a form on the back-end that won't show this?  Could possibly changing security settings prevent this?  Any suggestions would be appreciated on how to prevent this message from popping every time we update a form.

Custom Edit form - close modal dialog and navigate to page

Hi, I created one custom edit form for my document library, replaced default save and cancel buttons with input buttons and added the form action to them. Then I set my page as default edit form. When I click edit button, my custom form opens in modal pop up. When I try to save the item by clicking new save button, item gets saved but pop remains as it is. Now, I want the modal pop up to get closed and navigate to page other than the parent page with some parameters after I click save button. How can I achieve this? Thanks!!

Thread in WPF. continue processing while displaying a form dialog with progress bar

I am devastated with this. pls help.

I have a main window which is doing file processing. I need to display a WPF form while this processing is going on.

I believe I will display this WPF form by calling wpfForm.showDialog()??

The problem is that when this WPF form is displayed, the processing is held until the form is closed. Even i call this from a thread. If i call it by Show(), then it lost focus and goes to the background if the main window is clicked.

What is the proper way of doing this? All the example i found from internet was about progressbar on the main window, not as a additional popup window.

pls help. thanks

Hide Modal Dialog Close Button when dialog is already shown

Hey everyone,

Was wondering, how do you hide the close button of a modal dialog, when it's already shown, i.e. the page that's being loaded into the dialog, in there is a web part, and i want to trigger a script call to hide the close button of the current modal container.

I know you could give options to the modal dialog when you shot it to hide the close button, but not sure if you can do it after it has shown. I have no control of adding the option when it's showing the dialog, as this is done by the Add new item link in a list.

"launch form from a dialog" - why not in lists web parts?

SharePoint 2010 enables open a list item as a pop-up window (that's the default, deined in the list settings as "launch form from a dialog" which is set to yes). That's great, but:

when i'm display the list view in a web part (for example annoncement list in the home page) - that functionality seems to be missing :(

the item which is clicked is opened in a full window... any place to configure that it would open as the same way it's open from the list view (as a dialog)?

SharePoint Edit Form Shows Field Tabs over Field Item - How Can I Hide These

I am working with a custom edit form in SharePoint designer and I notice that when the form is displayed it shows the form field title in the column on the left and also in a tab directly above each field in the column on the right.  My question is how do I remove those tabs? IOW I just want to show the form field title on the left and the form field on the right; I don't want those grey tabs above the form field.

Tom Molskow SharePoint Architect - If I solved the issue please propose my reply as the answer - Thanks!

How To: hide fields on an input form

How can I hide a field in SP 2010.  I used this code in SP 2007 but can't get it to run in the new pop-up forms in SP 2010.

function findacontrol(FieldName, action) {

   var arr = document.getElementsByTagName("!");
   // get all comments
   for (var i=0;i < arr.length; i++ )

Hide style library form view all site content

We have upgrade our MOSS 2007 server to SharePoint 2010. We keep it in MOSS2007 Competible mode, so that end user cant see any changes.

But after upgrading, we have found "style library" in document library, which was not present in our moss 2007 server. It is an publishing feature of MOSS2007.

Now we want to hide this "style library" from the document library, we have deactivated publishing feature on site collection and site level. But still, we are not able to hide or deactivate the "style library". Can anyone tell why it is so and provide solution to hide this?

Any help appreciated!!!

Thanks in advanced!!!

Data transformation: Sharing object/variable scope between form and dialog (VS2010/VB)

I am writing a class to provide data transformation between two databases with different schema, and have a windows form which tries to do the data translation work, and a modal showDialog which pops up to halt and tweak the process when errors are detected.

The dialog needs to share, tweak, and pass control information to the main form to tweak the transform parameters until everything works OK.  My question is how to best achieve the data sharing since the dialog has separate data scope.  I have been using declarations like the folllowing to successfuly share data and avoid creating public variables:

     Friend importStatusMessage as string

But with all the variables the dialog needs to tweak, it's becoming messy.  Is there any way to declare the entire dialog as 'Friend' so that main form data is in scope to the dialog?  Or, maybe create an object with properties to pass the data, and share only the object?

How to hide a digital signature in Infopath 2010 form

Hide a repeater in ASP.NET C# if the DataSource contains no items?

I have an ASP.NET page that uses a repeater nested within another repeater to generate a listing of data. It's to the effect of the following:
In the (C#) code-behind I'm basically using LINQ to pull a listing of information from an XML document and bind that information to the first repeater.

Searching for the answer to this, it seems the method is to determine whether the data for the nested repeater is empty. If it is, then you set the visibility of the repeater to false.

A Generic Dialog ViewModel

I worked on a wpf viewmodel for dialogs, because it seemed strange to me that you needed for instance windows forms dialogs to open or save files in wpf. So I set about creating my own wpf dialogs. After creating the dialog viewmodels there still remained a small issue with the library and also I didn't have much time to write an article about it. I however published the library containing the viewmodels for dialogs with another article on my blog
