I'm not sure where to look. We are running Team Foundation Server 2010 if that makes a difference. This is for SharePoint 2010.

Let me know what logs you guys need.

I am encountering this error during setup. The server previously had WSS 3.0 and the Group Board Workspace. I uninstalled those and installed sharepoint foundation 2010. Initially It was up and running but I was receiving errors trying to load the group space template, so I uninstalled SPF2010. cleaned up the registry pointers to the old WSS3.0 and Groupboard Workspace and tried to reinstall. Now I get the error

Microsoft SharePoint server 2010 encountered an error during setup. One or more required office components failed to complete successfully.

Looking into the issue it appears that setup cannot install the embedded sql server, since the logs indicate a dbwrap error. There are no "pendingfilerename" operations which fixed this problem for some. I tried to install as a farm but it won't allow me to use a local admin account.  I also looked at the sql configurations and the windows internal database is running.

Any ideas how to I can remove the windows internal database and reinstall SF2010?

Error while trying to register DLLs for Microsoft Jet on Windows Server 2008 R2 64bit

Hello! I'm having issues with importing Excel spreadsheets into Microsoft SQL Server 2005 on a Windows Server 2008 R2 64bit server.  After browsing the web, it appears that the problem is with the DLL's used by Microsoft Jet.  I've thus attempted to re-register these DLL's.  However, I am receiving the following results. c:\Windows\SysWOW64> regsvr32 c:\Windows\SysWOW64\msjetoledb40.dllSuccessful c:\Windows\SysWOW64> regsvr32 c:\Windows\SysWOW64\msjet40.dllSuccessful c:\Windows\SysWOW64> regsvr32 c:\Windows\SysWOW64\msjint40.dllThe module "msjint40.dll" was loaded but the entry-point DLLRegisterServer was not found c:\Windows\SysWOW64> regsvr32 c:\Windows\SysWOW64\msjter40.dllThe module "msjter40.dll" was loaded but the entry-point DLLRegisterServer was not found c:\Windows\SysWOW64> regsvr32 c:\Windows\SysWOW64\msjtes40.dllSuccessful c:\Windows\SysWOW64> regsvr32 c:\Windows\SysWOW64\mswstr10.dllThe module "mswstr10.dll" was loaded but the entry-point DLLRegisterServer was not found I've set the application pool for this site to use 32bit.  Please note that due to my role on the team, other options such as using ACE are not available to me, unless I can prove that I've exhausted all other options. ItemAdded fails after Microsoft.Office.Word.Server.Conversions.ConversionJob was completed

Hey, I defined a ConversionJob from doc to pdf inside and the doc-file is located in a  document library and the job goes through without any problems. The pdf is created as expected. However if I try to catch an ItemAdded event the debugger starts every time the ConversionJob is finished and if I agree to debug the problem the debugger proceeds after the first time I hit F10 no matter how much code is located in the eventreceiver. The "error" seems to occur in the first line of my event receiver no matter what's in that line. If I got something like "string test = "text";" the debugger will come up anyway. I'm really confused by this behaviour and I hope somebody has worked with ConversionJobs from Word Automation Services before.

Trying to repair SharePoint 2010, running into an error with Microsoft.Office.InfoPath in GAC...

We've got an environment which has been hit badly by something we're not yet sure of. SharePoint has ceased working completely, and when I try to run SharePoint Configuration Wizard, it stops with an error concerning an windows assembly. Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.Office.InfoPath.Server', VErsion=, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c' or one of its dependencies. Signature specified is zero-sized. (Exception from HRESULT:0x80131237) How can I fix that assembly?

Microsoft SQL Server 2005 -- Error 29528. The setup has encountered an unexpected error while Updati

Hi This has me somewhat perplexed! I am attempting to install a SQL Server 2005 KB970894 patch (having downloaded the patch to apply it locally rather than using Microsoft update - which also fell over) . It updates all but Database Services! I am receiving "Microsoft SQL Server 2005 -- Error 29528. The setup has encountered an unexpected error while Updating Installed Files. The error is: The system cannot find the file specified." Things I have checked: I am running this on Windows Server 2003 R2 as a Domain Admin I have checked that the SIDS are current for the Local User Groups using PSGetSid as listed in the microsoft support article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/925976 Having set "Show Hidden Files" in Folder OptionsI can't find the file C:\WINNT\Installer\MSI1DC.tmp (however it may have bee removed during a "clean up"). Microsoft .NET Framework NGEN v4.0.30319_X86 not started error in server logs.

Not sure what the correct etiquit is for this. The thread I asked my question in last Friday was previously closed by a moderator, and I suspect that is why it's not getting answered.  Since I posted, there have been enough other people with the same issue posting to push it into the popular thread list. So I'm starting a new thread.  (Not sure what would be a better procedure.) Original thread is here: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/netfxsetup/thread/4cb39c00-b038-45b2-bf38-2016a906570e Here was my question: This service was installed in a recent auto update on my SBS 2003 server and it was installed with automatic startup.  But it just starts up and shuts right back down.  The same occurs on my XP dev machines. Because of that my daily server report is showing: Auto-started Services Not Running Service Name Microsoft .NET Framework NGEN v4.0.30319_X86 Total auto-started services not running: 1 In normal conditions, these services should be running. For details, it is recommended that you review errors in the Event log related to the service.   It's a annoyance to have that in the daily server reports.  (I want to see all green items) Since starting up and immediately shutting down, appears to be the normal behavior for this service. (That's also what it does on XP. And the .net 4 full installation verifies as being
