We have SharePoint and SQL server in a extranet domain. We would like move the SQL server databases for SharePoint to our corporate SQL server (on the corporate domain).
The Corporate domain does not trust the extranet domain, and thus the web farm account cannnot be specified on the corportare SQL instance. If it possible to migrate the databases to a non tusted domain?
I've seen the script to create a new Config database using SQL authentication
psconfig -cmd configdb -create -server <SQL server name> -database <database name> -dbuser <SQL account> -dbpassword <SQL password> -user <AD user account> -password <AD user password>
Can I edit the config of SharePoint to point to the new SQL server, or do I need to create the entire sharepoint enviromnent again and attach the content databases?
I also have a SSP database that's heavily customised for searcvhing and the BDC. Will this need recreating again or can I move the BDC database to the new server and attach?
I posted this thread below under a different forum and was requested to move. Below is our current problem and the feedback that was given.
We currently have a project server 2010 site with several workspaces associated with it. When trying to edit the site (either from choosing edit is designer from the site actions or from trying to open from within the designer) a dialog appears asking
to choose a certificate for the site.domain.com.
The certificate issued by the site is a GeoTrust certificate and checks ok when browsing the site in IE. This Windows security dialog also appears when trying to export to excel on the same site.
Any thoughts to what we are missing?

I recently installed on my server SharePoint 2010, SQL Server 2008 is on another box and all seems to work fine, except that when I try to install Project Server 2010 it keeps telling me that I need ton install SP 2010.
I already checked that the required edition of SP is the Enterprise, as far as I remember that is the edition I activated because I used the Product Key for the
"SharePoint Server 2010 For Internet Sites Enterprise", but to double check this (and correct it if I am wrong I went to the
'Convert License Type' page and not only it does NOT show what my current license is (information is empty), but also the box to type a new Key is disabled, so I am not allowed to try to change the one used.
Can anybody tell me what is going wrong?

These servers are on a domain separate from our company domain.
While installing sharepoint on t2, I get the following error at the step that creates a config database (on T3 SQL Server)

i have a clean installation of SharePoint 2010 and Project Server 2010 in a test enviroment with two servers (APP+DB).
After completing the installation of SharePoint and Project, I have installed the October 26 Cumulative update both for SharePoint and Project.
The upgrade was finished successfully without errors but in the Healt Analyzer there are two issues under the configuration category:
