Maintaing data caching for Complexed Sql Queries

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 23, 2010    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net

hello friends,

Hey guys i am working on n level product Catelog, I retriving my record at client end by complicated SQL Queries in stored procedure.

for better performance of the Application, i want to implement data caching and view states.

No my problem is that, how would i use the data caching, thugh i have the N level categories for the product and the categories ourselves treated as seprate product.

Any further suggestion would be appriciable.

Thanks and Regards

Data caching c#.net

Hi Friends,

I have a large SQL Database in the server from which I can create a dataset of about 10000 rows. My question is about caching this data. Which type of data caching should I choose (Server side or Client side)? Which one will provide better performance?

Thanks in advance

Data Points: LINQ Projection Queries and Alternatives in WCF Services

LINQ's ability to project randomly shaped data into anonymous types can be a blessing and a source of frustration, says Julie Lerman. It's great when you just need to grab a special view of your data, but it can be problematic in certain circumstances. She explains what the limitations are and how to get around them.

Data Points: Precompiling LINQ Queries

Did you know that by precompiling LINQ queries you might actually be degrading your app's performance if you're not careful? Julie Lerman explains how to ensure you're not re-precompiling queries each time and losing the expected performance benefits across post-backs, short-lived service operations and other code where critical instances are going out of scope.

Web Farms: Use Data Caching Techniques to Boost Performance and Ensure Synchronization

Performance is an important concern for any application, but becomes critical when the app is a Web Service accessed by thousands of clients simultaneously. One hardware approach to distributing Web Services requests evenly is a Web farm consisting of multiple servers. Once on a Web farm, Web Service performance can be improved by using ADO.NET DataSet objects to cache frequently accessed data, reducing round-trips to the database. Here the author describes data caching in a Web farm environment and discusses how to avoid the cross-server synchronization problems inherent in this approach.

Caching in WCF Data Services on Azure

I want to enable output caching in my OData service on Azure but I can't get it to work. It doesn't even have to be Velocity or any other distributed caching provider. I just want simple output caching. It can be as simple as the one Scott is talking about over here. I haven't got that example to work though and it seems that other ppl commenting on his article have the same problem as me: getting fresh data all the time. Please guide me

SQL Server 2008 Data Collection Queries

I am trying to find information on the new Data Collection functionality in SQL Server 2008. Mainly around how to properly query the tables..etc for building custom reports. Anyone find any good books, CBTs or have any queries already written? Everytime I try to search on the subject I just get a bunch of tutorials on how to configure it, which really doesn't require much of a tutorial if you use the wizard.John M. How do we use SQL queries for list data?

I have created some normalized data in hidden lists to protect the innocent and negate the need to get separate Database permissions on a very secure client server.  Trying to word this so I don't sound confrontational but I need a better way to query my SharePoint Application. CAML is simply not meeting the need.  How do we use real SQL queries for list data?

My humble thanks in advance,

Lookup conditional caching possible? or flush cache as data changes?

Hi Forum

Is there any way to switch caching setting on the lookup up component on-the-fly? I have a lot of lookup components that I want to use full caching setting - some times I know that there will not be a lot of data - so N lookups or partial caching would be better. I could indicate this by using a variable  - I could use a conditional split to make 2 paths - I could make 2 different lookup components but these two cannot point to the next task in the flow since it seams that all data flow task only take one input path.

I could really also use a way to flush the cache when ever a row value changes. In this way I could order the data by Company, and have it use full caching but flush the cache whenever the company id changes. Is this in any way possible?

Thank you in advance

Jay

BCS data caching in Search Server 2010

I am using BCS to pull Oracle data into a SharePoint external list via an .asmx web service so that it can be indexed and searched in Search Server 2010.  I created a .NET connector assembly which implements ReadItem() and ReadList() methods to accomplish this.  Both methods call web service methods to either retrieve a record by id or the entire list of data, respectively.  The data retrieved by the web service is done so using an Oracle stored procedure.

The data retrieved by the web service is refreshed in the Oracle database on a nightly basis by perl scripts.  Because of this, search results muct also reflect any changes on a nightly b

Are distributed queries a better way of retrieving data for analysis when compared to an ETL?

Hi,

We need to analyse some data in a database which is hosted on remote server. So we planned to copy that data into a new database using ETL and analyze it but we are not allowed to copy that data without permissions. so now we are thinking about using distributed queries like linked server, analyze the data on remote server and copy that analyzed data in our DB using distribute queries as we can copy that analyzed data.

Any one has any idea of issues that occur if we use linked servers in the products that are shipped beacause to my idea there is o product with linked server concept in it as it will have some issues with permissions and all it seems. So can any on f you help me out with this please

Thank You so much...

Using Transact SQL Queries in Data Source Views

Afternoon all,

Can someone explain how I would use a view defined in SQL in my data source view creation and what the advantages of doing so would be. I've been assigned to a project where I need to build a DSV, but the database has a view that appears to create what I need too.

I've read in some MS literature that a view can be used in lieu of referencing the actual tables.

Can anyone explain how this would work?

Data Caching in WCF Service

A) Service is hosted in IIS 7.

B) Caller used nettcp binding to communicate with the service

My WCF service reads data from a database table and returns to the caller. this service is called by 50+ users and each user calls the service every 5 seconds.

I am looking at ways to cache this data in the service rather than read the data everytime from database. Can you suggest good caching mechanism in this scenario

PS: Data in the database table is refreshed at random intervals (at peak times as frequent as every 5 sec and in off peak times about once per minute)

Bug in SP? XSL Link + Data Caching enabled

In our BDC webparts we have "Enabled data caching" checked, and we have specified an XSL Link. Both our XSL file and the page that the webpart is on are published as major versions. When I go to the page, I get the strangest behavior: the webpart shows all of its data, but it says in red "Unable to connect to BlahBlahInstance. Administrators please see the server log for details".

This error does not occur if the page is a draft. It only occurs if the page is published, and it occurs whether or not the XSL file was published before or after the page. Even more strangely, the error shows up randomly: that is, if I refresh the page over and over, sometimes it shows up, and sometimes it does not. The error also does not occur if data caching is not enabled.

Any information about this issue would be appreciated. Thanks.
