Apply Style to checkboxlist Items

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 23, 2010    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net

Hi ,

How to change colour of CheckBoxList Items Text ?

Ex: chkblstRoleFunc1.Attributes.Add("style", "color:red");

But For above ex, red colour is applied to the Text of all the Items of CheckBoxList. I want it to be applicable for only one Item among all the Items i.e. Red Colour for only one Item and rest all Items in Black Colour(which is the default colour).

Please view the following code that I have Impemented. Is It RIGHT ??
            To change I have to call javascript runtime on CheckBoxList OnLoad event.
Problem is that, below written call to Javascript is not Working.
Please have a look at the below given code :

1) Code Behind :-

if (ds1.Tables[0].Rows.Count != 0)

for (int i = 0; i < ds1.Tables[0].Rows.Count; i++)
chkblstRoleFunc1.Items.Insert(i, new ListItem(ds1.Tables[0].Rows[i].ItemArray[3].ToString(), ds1.Tables[0].Rows[i].ItemArray[1].ToString()));

if (Convert.ToInt32(ds1.Tables[0].Rows[i].ItemArray[2]) == 0)
chkblstRoleFunc1.Attributes.Add("onload", "javascript:setCheckboxColor('" + ds1.Ta

Change style for aspMenu items

I am using a aspMenu that renders the horizontal global navigation with useSimpleRendering="true" so that a list (ul,li) menu implementation is used rather than the table implementation.  My question is - how do I change the style of the UL, LI elements? They have class names such as "root static", "static dynamic children", etc. etc.  I can overwrite the css definition for these styles in my custom css. But what if I want the implementation to use my css element names? I tried with using the "CssClass=classname" and "UseSeparateCss=true" for the <Sharepoint:AspMenu> .... but this doesn't seem to have any influence on the CSS elements for the List. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance, Jake.

Trying to apply style to a gridview column programatically..

I have a grid view that is bound from my code behind.   If the text of a label is equal to the value of a querystring, I want to apply a specific class/style that is in my .css.  I've tried this, but doesn't seem to have any affect...  How can I set the class for a column in the gridview if the two values match?

 protected void gvMenu_RowDataBound(object sender, GridViewRowEventArgs e)
        if (e.Row.RowType == DataControlRowType.DataRow)
            Label lblSubSectionIDForComparing = e.Row.FindControl("lblSubSectionID") as Label;
            Label lblSubSectionNameForComparing = e.Row.FindControl("lblSubSectionName") as Label;

            if (lblSubSectionIDForComparing != null)
                if (lblSubSectionIDForComparing.Text == Request.QueryString["SubSectionID"])
                    e.Row.Cells[2].CssClass = "SubSectionNav"; <-- This is what I thought would work...

WPF: how to make the listview work (apply basic listviewitem style and also apply special data

 We have defined the basic ListViewIItemStyle as following:

<!--ItemContainerStyle with the Trigger for selection x:Key="ListViewItemStyle"-->
 <Style x:Key="ListViewItemStyle"
  TargetType="{x:Type ListViewItem}">
 <Setter Property="Background"
 Value="Transparent" />
 <Setter Property="HorizontalContentAlignment"
 Value="Center" />
 <Setter Property="VerticalContentAlignment"
 Value="Center" />
 <Setter Property="Foreground"
 Value="Black" />
 <Setter Property="Margin"
 Value="5,0,5,0" />
 <Setter Property="MinHeight"
 Value="40" />
 <Setter Property="Template">
 <ControlTemplate TargetType="{x:Type ListViewItem}">
 <Border x:Name="Bd"
 <GridViewRowPresenter VerticalAlignment="{TemplateBinding VerticalContentAlignment}" />
 <!--<ContentPresenter HorizontalAlignment="Left"

Apply togglebutton style inside a toolbar

because the togglebutton inside a grid in a toolbar has a different style, i found a way to set the style to the toolbar it's style
I create a invisible togglebutton (base) direct inside the toolbar (tb).

In code I add the line: cc.style = base.style
This will show the togglebuttons as they show up in a toolbar.

My question is: is there a way to automate this? If I now add a new togglebutton inside the grid, i have to add a line in code to set the style.

<Window x:Class="MainWindow"
  Title="MainWindow" Height="350" Width="525">
  <ToolBarTray Background="White" Orientation="Vertical" >
   <ToolBar Name="Tb" Band="0" BandIndex="0" >
    <ToggleButton Name="Base" Visibility="Collapsed" ></ToggleButton>
      <ColumnDefinition ></ColumnDefinition>
      <ColumnDefinition ></C

don't apply static hover style to siteMapNode that has an empty url property

I was wondering if there is any way to not apply the static hover effect to asp:menu items where their corresponding sitemapnodes don't have a url specified?

It sounds a little confusing so I thought I'd add snippets of what I'm trying to do:

I have a sitemap file with 3 levels:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
<siteMap xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/AspNet/SiteMap-File-1.0" >
  <siteMapNode url="~/default.aspx" title="SOME TITLE"  description="">
    <siteMapNode url="" title="Admin"  description="" roles="Admin">
      <siteMapNode url="~/admin/userMgmt.aspx" title="User Mgmt"  description="" />
      <siteMapNode url="~/admin/roleMgmt.aspx" title="Role Mgmt"  description="" />
    <siteMapNode url="" title="Users"  description="" roles="User">
      <siteMapNode url="~/Users/MyAssignments.aspx" title="My Assignments"  description="" />

I then have my sit

checkboxlist save check items to SQL (not concatenate)

I search through the web and I only found out how to concatenate.

I have a checkboxlist that is a list of Authors, it is included in my ADD BOOK form. Take note that a book can have many author so I need checkboxlist.

Instead of having this in my SQL table.

Table 1: Book

Book_ID      Book_Title       Book_Author

1                 My Book          Mark, Mike, John  <-- Concatenate

I need this.

Table 1: Book

Book_ID      Book_Title        Book_Author

1                 My Book            Mark

1                 My Book            Mike

1                 My Book            John

It's required that for one row there's only one author but it can have the same book id and title.

My current code

string add = "insert into Book values (@booktitle, @author);
SqlCommand cmd = new SqlCommand(add, con);
cmd.Parameters.Add("@booktitle", SqlDbType.NVarChar).Value = booktitle.Text;

Style changes to individual quick launch items

I have a quick launch bar on the left with headers that do NOT have URL's and subitems under those headers that are styled differently and that do have URL's (this is all out of the box, and works fine).  My issue is that I have one quick launch item that is a header and that does have a URL associated with it and although the hover style of this item is different than the other link-less headers, I would like to make this one header look different than the others to make it apparent that it's a link without having to hover over it.  Is it possible to do per-item style changes on the quick launch bar or something equivalent?  Thanks

How to apply style for "Search Options" pop up of People Search Box webpart - Sharepoint 2010

I have added around 10 additional filter properties to the Search Options link available in the People Search Box web part. Now all these properties are coming in a single column. How can change the look and feel for the div which shows the filter property text boxes?

jQuery: Styling DropDownList Alternating Items (Rows)

In the following example, I will show how you can style any asp:dropdownlist very easily.

The example demonstrates how you can change alternating row items background color, using the fadeTo() to add a nice touch in the dropdownlist. You can change alt rows with a couple lines.

ASP.NET repeater control - databind with style

even used the inline editing features, which I at the time thought was the coolest way possible to write ASP.NET code ( I managed to write code to hide all other rows and only show the current one - the row being edited). With a nice looking EditTemplate it looked indeed very slick but it really turned into giant and hard to manage code behind files.

Hide a repeater in ASP.NET C# if the DataSource contains no items?

I have an ASP.NET page that uses a repeater nested within another repeater to generate a listing of data. It's to the effect of the following:
In the (C#) code-behind I'm basically using LINQ to pull a listing of information from an XML document and bind that information to the first repeater.

Searching for the answer to this, it seems the method is to determine whether the data for the nested repeater is empty. If it is, then you set the visibility of the repeater to false.

A Simple and Extensible Radio Button Style GridView

The GridView is one of the significant controls in ASP.NET 2.0 and later versions. No doubt it reduces a lot of work time. However, customizing the GridView control is not an easy task. For example, it's hard to add a radio button column to the GridView. This article demonstrates the reason why a radio button column cannot act as normal and how to create a simple and extensible radio button GridView.

Creating SharePoint items with CreateItemActivity

Instead of creating new list items from code in your workflow you can use CreateItemActivity. CreateItemActivity can be used for creating list items or files. Properties of interest for this activity are the following (most of them are self-explanatory):

Creating Sites/Lists/List Items under Current User Context in SharePoint By Using SPUserToken

Usually we do this by performing the action under RunWithElevatedPrivileges method and updating the listitem using SPListItem.SystemUpdate() method (see here). but this approach has its own flaws like (RunWithElevatedPrivileges will run under system account, we cannot use SystemUpdate for SPSite,SPWeb,SPList, since it runs under system we will "CreatedBy" by as SystemAccount).

HttpContext.Items and Server.Transfer/Execute

The problem was basically that when a Server.Transfer call was applied the script container (and also various ClientScriptProxy script embedding routines) would potentially fail to load up the specified scripts.
