Here is my dilemma. I have 2 tables 1 parent and 1 child. I established a relationship between the two tables based upon the primary key of the parent and the foreign key of the child. The problem is when I open the child table I am unable to enter a value
for the foreign key. Is this standard behavior. Is there a problem with a column constrain. Thanks In advance for any help or assistance you can provide.
Another issue I was wondering if someone could give me some advice concerning. How would I construct a Stored procedure that can check the Primary Key Value of the Parent Table to see if it contains a value a user has specified in a parameter value in the
foreign key column of a child table. If the value in the primary key column of the parent table = the value in the foreign key column of the child table then I want to insert a child record. I have seen a few examples that utilize the IF EXISTS KEY WORD.
