Filestream : either a required impersonation level was not provided, or the provided impoersonation

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 22, 2010    Points: 0   Category :Sql Server
We are using filestream (SQL2008) from a console application.
This works if the console application runs on the sql-server itself, but we receive the error 'either a required impersonation level was not provided, or the provided impersonation level is invalid' if the console application runs on another server.

Does anyone know how to solve this ?

WCF Service in VS.Net 2010 (provided as the Service attribute value in the ServiceHost directive)

Hi,   I'm building my first WCF Service in VS.Net 2010 RC on a Win7 Ent 64. But when I launch my Service (ASP .Net Development Server) for debug and click on the .svc file, I get following error :   The type 'Systemat.Software.Services.PopsyWS.PopsyWebService', provided as the Service attribute value in the ServiceHost directive, or provided in the configuration element system.serviceModel/serviceHostingEnvironment/serviceActivations could not be found.   My Project is in the namespace "Systemat.Software.Services.PopsyWS", Assembly Name is "PopsyWebService",Service Name is "PopsyWebService" derived from "IPopsyWebService". All compile options are set on x86. My code behind is in the file PopsyWebService.svc.cs My svc file has <%@ ServiceHost Language="C#" Debug="true" Service="Systemat.Software.Services.PopsyWS.PopsyWebService" CodeBehind="PopsyWebService.svc.cs" %> I also tried PopsyWebService.PopsyWebservice with the same result (stating Type 'PopsyWebService.PopsyWebservice' was not found offcourse) Pretty sure on of those two is the correct one but neither of them work. Other posts talk about problems with the GAC but I don't think this has anything to do with my problem.   A new empty (example) project of a WCF Service works correctly so it's a project

How to develop WCF services and host them only using WSDL and schemas provided by client(consumer)?

Hi,I am new to WCF. I have just gone through sample calculator service examples and have very hazy understanding of WCF. I have one requirement  where i need to develop WCF services. I have been provided with WSDL and SCHEMAS and has been asked to develop WCF services part. The client part is ready and they need us to write webservices so they can consume it. Can anyone please xplain how could i begin with and from where ? Also what are schemas (XSD's) used for ? Also how would I make sure that after building webservices I have hosted the webservices in such a way that other people in our network could access them ?I have read forums where you have webservices  but need to write clients which can consume it, but not sure how to approach the above requirement. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please explain it considering I AM NOVICE/BEGINNER.  Thanks

Express 2008 R2 w/ Advanced Svcs - what BIDS capabilities are provided?

I have BIDS on my desktop as the result of a Visual Studio 2005 Professional installation.  Neither the VS 2008 nor the VS 2010 installs included an update to the BIDS dev. environment, so I'm trying to find out if there's been any update to BIDS and what the SQL Express with Advanced Services brings to the table.

Microsoft's product pages say that it includes BIDS, but is it the VS 2005 version or something newer?  See the Development Tools table at this link:      http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc645993.aspx

Required Permissions for SQL Server 2005 DB and Impersonation

I have an Intranet ASP.NET WebForm application that uses Integrated Windows authenication and Impersonation (required becuase triggers are used to create audit logs) to connect to a SQL Server 2005 DB on the same box (no double hop issues). Normal users get their DB permissions via the <Domain\Domain Users AD group, which has a SQL Server login and a user created for the DB.  Everything works fine when I explictly grant the associated DB user CONTROL permissions on the DB.

However, after doing more research on the actual permissions granted via CONTROL, this seems to be way too much access.  The best decription of the CONTROL permission I found was at http://www.mssqltips.com/tip.asp?tip=1718, which states, "This grants the equivalent to ownership over the database. The db_owner fixed database role has this permission implicitly."  However, every other DB permission combination I've tried without granting CONTROL always fails to connect to the DB.  Impersonation is working, the correct accessing Domain/User is referenced in the error message.  The approriate User in the DB is in the db_datareader and db_datawriter roles and when I explictly grant them every single permission on the DB except CONTROl they fail with a "

How to create SQL Database Backup on a remote machine through Backup Class provided by C#?

I need to take SQL database backup on a remote machine through C#. I am using Backup Class provided by Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.Smo namespace.

When I call SqlBackup function of Backup Class I get the following error:

Cannot open backup device '\\WKS-123\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Backup\CalDBServer.bak'. Operating system error 53(The network path was not found.).
BACKUP DATABASE is terminating abnormally.

I have already shared folder \\WKS-123\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Backup\ with "Full Control" permissions.

Please let me know if anybody has any idea regarding the error.

How to search grid results based on user provided values?

I would like a user to be able to enter some criteria in a search box and then have them click on a search button to filter the data using a "contains" logic and not an exact match.

Anyone know if this is possible?

I have downloaded the DynamicFilterRepeater and that works well, but you end up with one search box per colulmn...I would like to have one search box that columns could subscribe to and that would be filtered automatically.

Not sure how to go about doing something like that...I'm still quite new to DD and I am still trying to get a grasp on the basic stuff.

My SQL Server is using Log On as built-in account Network Service. I tried giving that account write permissions and it still doesn't work.

Could someone help me?
