Posted By:      Posted Date: September 22, 2010    Points: 0   Category :Sql Server

HI All,

I have SSRS 2008 64-bit for MS CRM 4. Recenlty I am facing very strange problem. If I delete ReportServer Database and then I try to access http://servername/reportserver, I get 'Cannot open database "ReportServer" requested by the login. The login failed. Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE'. Which is obvious but if I recreate the ReportServer Database using Reporting Services Configuration Manager then instantly SQLDumper starts and URL do not show anything in browser except keep waiting. The Following Things in Dumps- (filename is SQLDmpr....log):

SSRS 2008 Export to PDF fails for large data with System.Exception: Parameter is not valid

Hi, We are working on Range Bar Chart using SSRS 2008. The report has huge data. It is properly displaying the data, but when we tried to export to pdf it is failing with the following exception. Exporting to excel works fine. Also if the report has small/medium data it is property exporting to PDF. It is failing only in case of huge data (we have custom page size of 28" X 14"). Of course the report has lot of expressions we used to customize the colors/text as per our requirements.   Server Error in '/Reports_SQLDEV2008' Application. Parameter is not valid. SSRS 2008 R2 - Query builder freezes and needs to be shut down Report Builder 3 when attempting quie

Hi, In SSRS, using Report Builder 3.0 (SSRS R2), after choosing a Report Model as the report's embedded data source, launched "Query Deisinger…" from GUI to build data source in report.  First 1-2 attempts at querying underlying data source (Oracle back-end), are successful, but later attempts freeze application to the point where application freezes and overall Report Builder application needs to be forcibly shut-down. This system freeze has occurred when referencing tables containing a very small number of records as well as larger data sets.  Suspect that application freezing may be caused by timing-out of connection to back-end database. but I am not sure. Any suggestion to solve this issue? Thanks   Environment - Distributed deployment Server1(report_srv) --Windows server 2003R2 64bit, Installed sql server 2008R2 reporting service, configuration tools Server2 (report_db_srv) --windows server 2003r2 64bit, sql server 2005 for report server database

Can´t set up local system accounts as service accounts in sharepoint 2010

HI I made an inplace upgrade to sharepoint 2010. I want to setup performance point services. but it doesn´t allow me to set a local system account as the application pool account for performance point services application. It doesn´t allow me to register a new account it says The specified user account "domain\username" is a local account. Local accounts should only be used in stand alone mode. The application pool account for the site collection that I upgraded is a local system account so I don´t get it? I tried this http://sharepoint.microsoft.com/blogs/fromthefield/Lists/Posts/Post.aspx?ID=112 However the upgrade fails after this. Is there any way that I do the inplace upgrade and it would allow me to use local system accounts has service accounts? Without Active directory? Thanks

x86 service with CLR not starting on Windows 7 x64

Hello, I’m been working on a problem that is happening in the field for over a month and I’ve tried everything I can think of.  My x86 service sometimes doesn’t start on Windows 7/2008 x64.   I’ve build a simple service and tracked down the problem to what I think is JIT compiling.  Here’s my environment: Service is x86 written in MFC C++ using CLR libraries.  (new code is all c#) The OS is Windows 7 x64 The library I’m using is compiled to ‘Any CPU’ The test.  Here is me attempting to start the service 3 times.    C:\temp\#3>net start MyService   The service is not responding to the control function.   More help is available by typing NET HELPMSG 2186.   C:\temp\#3>net start MyService   The service is not responding to the control function.   More help is available by typing NET HELPMSG 2186.   C:\temp\#3>net start soxaudit   The MyService service is starting..   The MyService service was started successfully. As far as I can tell is IF the service actually loads, everything works correctly.  I believe this since I OutputDebugString and write to a log in the servicemain. If I compile the library to x86 instead of Any CPU, the service starts up the first time.  Sooo…my questions is this:  Is there a MSIL tr

SSRS 2008 - report manager: System.Net.WebException: Unable to connect to the remote server

I have an instance of Reporting Services 2008 running on Windows 2003 server.  So, the webservice URL is running on port 801, and runs fine (I can browse reports from that directory, and upload / deploy new reports and overwrite existing reports. Report manager is set to use port 800 (IIS is also on that machine running port 80).  When I attempt to connect to report manager, I get the following error, with a link to "Home" in report manager (which brings me back to the existing error page):    Unable to connect to the remote server  In the logfiles for reporting services, the following error is there: " System.Net.WebException: Unable to connect to the remote server ---> System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.   Any ideas? Windows Firewall is NOT running on this machine.   Thanks, Chrisrjp

Question on WCF service with Linq to SQL on 64-bit system

I'm trying this question one more time since I realized the work in in a 64-bit environment. I have a WCF service which runs in production in a 32-bit environment using VS2008 and .NET 2.0. We made a big change to our environment (lots at the same time) and I moved the services to VS2010, .NET 4.0, and 64-bit processes.  I wrote a new service and deployed it under IIS.  If I browse to the service I get the example screen and clicking on the link gives me the metadata.  So all of that is working. In my services I create a Linq to SQL context, perform a query, then return the result set as an Array.  I wrapped the context creation with a using.  My tests returned an exception "Attempt to access an object that has already been disposed".  I traced it down and found that the code executes, forces the query, returns the results, exits the using statement (disposing the context properly) then exits the method.  The next thing I get is the exception, inside framework code, and it is linq code attempting to fulfill the query once again. I have searched until I'm blue in the face trying to find prior incidents and fixes but all I found was one post, two years ago, same problem with less debugging, and no answer to the problem other than 'don't use the using statement' which is a bad suggestion.  So for a work around I wrote a Co

Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service

Hi All,

I am trying to read file stream on network path & getting the error Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service

binaryReader =

New BinaryReader(fileStream)

Dim binaryFileContent As Byte() = binaryReader.ReadBytes(CInt(fileStream.Length))

Can any one help out how to resolve this issue.

Publishing xbap with partial trust, using WCF service for data backend, getting System.Net.WebPermis

It looks like these are very picky when it comes to how and where everything is setup. I've only got this to work when launching from visual studio. If I publish, I keep getting the System.Net.WebPermission exception. I am using .Net 4.0

IIS 7.5 (on my local machine)
Default Website
--- QuoteTest (Application, ASP.net hosted website)
---Xbap(Was virtual directory, turned it into an application)

I'm thinking it's some magical order of settings in the publish tab that I need to do right.

  • Should I use localhost or my ip in the publishing location?
  • For the WCF service, is publishing to a File System Acceptable?
  • Any other security settings that I should set/be aware of?

Downloading a document from a sharepoint site to local file system, copy web service returns null

Hi Guys,
I am trying to get this done for the last 2 days and I am still banging my head to the wall.
All I need to do is to download files from my sharepoint site library that uses integrated windows authentication. I was using copy webservice : getItem method to accomplish this.

CopyService.GetItem(copySource, out myFieldInfoArray, out myByteArray);

Problem : myByteArray is always returned as NULL

Note: I have tried the same with another site that uses forms authentication but the result was the same (NULL !!)

This is my code:

Copy copy = new CopyService.Copy();

ServiceModel.AddressAlreadyInUseException stopping wcf service from starting

I have a windows service that hosts two WCF services - one using HTTP on port 8731 and the other using HTTPS on port 8732.

When I start the service, it stops after about 30 seconds with the following error

Service cannot be started. System.ServiceModel.AddressAlreadyInUseException: HTTP could not register URL https://+:8732/Design_Time_Addresses/WcfServiceHost/Session/. Another application has already registered this URL with HTTP.SYS. ---> System.Net.HttpListenerException: Failed to listen on prefix 'https://+:8732/Design_Time_Addresses/WcfServiceHost/Session/' because it conflicts with an existing registration on the machine.

using "netstat -a" before and after trying to start the service indicates that there is nothing listening on port 8732.

If I change the port from 8732 to 8733 in app.config, the service starts successfully. Running netstat -a indicates that nothing is listening on port 8732.

If I change the port back to 8732, it stops working again. I would really like to understand why this happening, but am not sure where to go from here. Any help would be appreciated.

Problems with UserProfile Application Service not starting.

I'm using the Rational Guide from Harbar.net, and have the following problem:

UserProfileApplication.SynchronizeMIIS: Failed to configure ILM, will attempt during next rerun. Exception: System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Specified collection 'StringSchemaCollection' cannot be dropped because it is used by object 'MyAD_Domain\spfarm.GetObjectCurrent'.

I found references to simalr errors with Kerberos auth problems, but not one like this.

What did I do wrong, and how do I correct it?
