I have used a package, where i use a custom DLL to read values. Hence, i added that DLL to the GAC. I was in the assumption that this should complete my proceess of deploying this package.
However once i executed the package, i got an error - Could not load the Helper object.
Unable to CAST "system.object" to namaspace.class.Helper.
I reviewed the setting on my macihine, since as part of development inorder to reference the dll i added this to the C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\SDK\Assemblies location so that i can reference this from BIDS. I checked that location in my test
server, i was not present. This location was present in the D: drive ( i assume this was present since i installed my complete SQL Server in the D:\ ). I copied the dLL in that location and added it to GAC from that location. My package still failed with the
To resolve this issue, i created the same path in the C:\ folder as C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\SDK\Assemblies

I've created a basic Web Part in a .wsp and defined two custom web properties.
However, whatever value I place in these text values when in the edit mode show up on the Page beneath the Web Part name. Why? How do I not show the value of Properties outside of the Modify Property window?
I have created a simple custom page layout in SharePoint Designer, added a couple of web part zones, and a custom web part on each zone.
These web parts have a custom provider-consumer set of interfaces. I configured the connection between the web parts in SharePoint Designer (using Add Connection wizard), and saved the page layout.
After that, I checked in the layout and approved it in SP's web interface.
Finally, I created a Publishing Page based on my layout, but the connection between the web parts was not set. I can set the connection manually and it works fine, but I would like the connection to be automatically set on each page I create based
on the layout.
Is this the expected behavior? If so, is there a way to configure the connection automatically either programmatically or declaratively?
Is there a step I'm missing?
i have few custom controls that take some time to load,how can i make the page render all is buttons and in background the controls will do there job?

And I am trying to insert a content query web part in the page layout using sharepoint designer, and modify the query to insert the announcements list in the site. But how can I query to pull the data from corresponding site.

Building on his article published in the June issue, which demonstrated several ways to get process and DLL-related information from APIs such as PSAPI, NTDLL, and TOOLHELP32, the author presents some unusual ways to get system-oriented info that you can easily integrate in your own toolkit. There are three tools included as samples: LoadLibrarySpy, which monitors an application and detects which DLLs are really loaded; WindowDump, which retrieves the content and a detailed description of any window; and FileUsage, which redirects console-mode applications to tell you which process is using any opened file.

I have created a feature that generates a page and adds a content editor web part, links web part (using elements.xml). Everything works fine but I would like to replace content editor web part with a wiki page that I am going to create.
For example, I copied an excerpt from elements.xml file that adds a content editor web part for the page.
<Module Path="Dependencies/Pages" Url="">
<File Url="default.aspx" Type="Ghostable">
<!-- Add the Rich Content Text Editor web part -->
<AllUsersWebPart WebPartZoneID="Right" WebPartOrder="1">
<WebPart xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/WebPart/v2" xmlns:iwp="http://schemas.microsoft.com/WebPart/v2/ContentEditor">
<Assembly>Microsoft.SharePoint, Version=22.214.171.124, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c</Assembly>
Can someone tell me how I can add a wiki page using manifest (elements.xml) file or some other way?
