Can someone explain how this setting works when setting up an Excel doc (for Excel Services)?
I edited one of the ODC items in the Trusted Data Connections by a)adding the FQDN to the server, and b)adding "SSPI=Kerberos" option. I export the file, check it in, and approve it.
I then pull up an Excel file from the Trusted Excel locations folder and examine the Data Connection. It is still set to use that particular ODC I just modified, but the Connection String in the box below does NOT reflect the changes. So what connection
string is actually being used? The one in the ODC file in the Trusted Data Connecitons library, or the Connection String below it?
If I check the box "Allways use Conneciton File" then the Connection File gets wiped out and the Connection String still displays what it had.
This seems backward. If I want to always use a Connection File and check that box, then why do I then LOSE the location of the file, yet retain the string? Seems that if I want to "Always Use Connection File", then I should have a place where I point to
the ODC, and NOT be able to set the Connection String.
I'm trying to set up Kerberos authentication between SharePoint and SSAS and this is REAL frustrating.
