Automatically Set Anonymous access to subsites off with Parent on and permissions inherited

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 22, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

Is it possible to automatically set anonymous access to all newly created sub sites to be off when the Parent site is on and permissions are inherited? I know it is as simple as going into each site and disabling but to prevent users with forgetful minds we would like the default to be off. I have done a lot of research and do not see a solution. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

User access stripped automatically on subsites

Hello, I create a subsite, select  "use unique permissions", and create the accessgroups: visitors, members and owners.  I then enter som testusers in the visitors and members-groups, log on as them to make sure the testusers have the correct access-levels.  I also make sure my newly created access-groups are the only groups with access to the subsite.  20 minutes later, the testusers no longer have access to the subsite.  What kind of service running on the server would strip these rights?  When I log on with the owner-account, I can still see the testusers in the correct groups, but they no longer have access. I'm hoping for some good suggestions! Thanks, Kjersti

How to grant Anonymous permissions to Limited Access User.

The problem is granting a user access to only a single Document Library deep within a site;  this user can navigate directly to this document library, but this user can no longer see any anonymous content.

How can a limited access user also maintain the anonymous permissions before signing in?

InfoPath and Access - two parent tables and one child table

Hi there,

I'm trying to link an InfoPath form to an Access database, I want to connect the InfoPath form to 3 tables in the Access database but InfoPath will only recognise parent-child relationships in a series (e.g. the "Company" table is the parent to the "Customer" table, which is again parent to the "Orders" table)

I need to have two parent tables and one child table, though (e.g. "Customer" is parent to "Orders", but "Inventory_Item" is also parent to "Orders"). Is there any way to establish this in InfoPath? I'm using Windows XP, InfoPath 2007 and Access 2007.

Cheers, Patrick

With Anonymous access disabled, is there any way to use an AJAX-enabled WCF Service?

I have a website where anonymous access is disabled but I want to user an ajax-enabled WCF service. Configuring the service's binding security to use "TransportCredentialOnly" with clientCredentialType="Windows" seems like the obvious thing to do; indeed, many posts in various places suggest this approach. Unfortunately, however, it doesn't work. I always get the error "Security settings for this service require 'Anonymous' Authentication but it is not enabled for the IIS application that hosts this service." How can I configure the service to function correctly. I'm running IIS 7.5 with .Net framework 4.0. Thanks.

Cannot access parent site list from subsite in XSLt List View webpart in sharepoint designer 2010

Hi    We are using sharepoint 2010  for internet facing sites for our big client in healthcare domain .  I am using XSLT list view webpart in sharepoint designer 2010 for retrieving contents from sharepoint list & displaying it by using XSLT List view webpart in publishing sites. We are having lot of list in rootsite collection, If i am creating pages by using XSLt list view webpart in root site collection I can access the list,View and Display in Pages by XSLT List view webpart. Now the requirement is i have to access the list in roosite collection(parent site) from subsites.  In Sharepoint designer 2010, while i am inserting XSLT list view webpart, i could not find datasource to access the list that exist in rootsite collection(Parent site) from subsite. Below is the the code i am using for accessing the list& view from parent site & creating the pages in parent site by using xslt list view webpart, now i wants to access parent site list from subsite by using XSLT list view webpat in subsite pages.  Pls let me know what i have to change in the code level <WebPartPages:XsltListViewWebPart runat="server" Description="The list for the conditions details" ListDisplayName="" PartOrder="2" Default="FALSE" HelpLink="" AllowRemove="True" IsVisible="True" All

Programmatically(WSS Web Services) Inheriting Parent Site Permissions for Workspaces

I'm able to create meeting work spaces in Sharepoint 2007 using the WSS web services. This issue that I'm running into is that the default is not inheriting permissions from the parent site. I'm looking for a way to configure this option for the work space programmatically through the use of the WSS web services. I've tried changing this in the template that I'm using to create the workspace, but this does not seem to effect the end results.Regards,Timothy H

Reporting Services 2008 - Anonymous Access

Hello,   In SSRS 2005 I was able to grant anonymous access to my reports by changing the authentication mode for the Reporting Services virtual directory in IIS to Anonymous and then adding the 'account used for anonymous access' to the permissions on the appropriate Reporting Services directories (in report manager).   Now with SSRS 2008 there are no virtual directories in IIS.   I tried to follow the instructions given:   http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc281310.aspx (Authentication Types in Reporting Services)   Which instructed me to use the custom AuthenticationType, and following the instructions here:   http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc281383.aspx (How to: Configure Custom or Forms Authentication in Reporting Services)   which just got me an error: The Authentication Extension threw an unexpected exception or returned a value that is not valid: . (rsAuthenticationExtensionError) Get Online Help For more information about this error navigate to the report server on the local server machine, or enable remote errors   Any ideas on how to set up anonymous access to SSRS2008?   Thanks for any time and help!   -Tim

Need link to parent site from subsites

We have migrated the 2003 site to MOSS environment and that site collection has around 100 sub sites.   In original site we had link to parent site on all sub sites of it.(that link is at right corner of the site)  Unfortunately this option got disappeared after migration to MOSS environment.  and  breadcrumb option also disappeared here we can manually add link to parent site on all subsites either at toplink bar or in mylinks colums but doing this in 100 sub sites is hectic job. We have tried out by making changes at master page by taking site collection masterpage but the changes which we have made not inherited to all sub sites  and also we have enabled the feature of publishing at parent and sub site level and tried to inherit the master page of parent site but it is not getting inherited. Is there any way we can figure this . thanks ..... Ram
