Login challenge

Last Thursday after the email virus came to visit my machine was scanned and declared safe for society. However, now I get a challenge when opening SharePoint sites on particular corporate machines on the internal network.  I am in the owner group with full control on both.  Once I log in there is no evidence of trouble.  It has been suggested that this is only an annoyance, but it is more than that because I have a number of web service calls to SharePoint which are now not working. Only I am experiencing the issue and if I log in to another machine I can access it without the login.  I am thinking some setting in IE is causing the problem.  We are still on IE 7

PropertyGrid using ComboBox to get/set object reference

I'm using a windows forms propertygrid to set object properties at runtime.  One property I'd like to set is an object reference.  For example, imagine that you have child objects and parent objects (assume parent names are NOT unique).  Further imagine that child object has a reference to the parent as in class child {   // other properties   public Parent myParent; // assume the get/set methods are there too }   I'd like to use the propertygrid to set all the child properties.  I'd like the propertygrid to have a combobox of all parent objects (the actual objects not just the string names especially since names are not unique).  The text of each parent (in the combo box) should be the parent name.  So I want to get/set the parent object reference for the child, but I want the displayed content of the combobox to be parent names.  I've messed around with the objectreference type converter.  Using "getstandardvalues" I can put parent objects into the standardvalues collection but the combox only displays "(none)" for each element.  I tried overriding ToString for the parent objects but that didn't change the displayed text of the combobox.   So here are my questions: 1.  Can you get/set an object reference with a property grid or do you always have to work with strings g

c# propertygrid; dropdown in description field?

Hello msdn!

I have a propertygrid question for you.

I'm wondering if it is possible to have a dropdownlist in the description field of an expandible property in the property grid.

I want the user to be able to choose from different types of objects in a dropdown-list. These objects should be expandible (i.e ExpandableObjectConverter) and show different types of values.

Maybe it is best explained with a picture:

in the picture Object A is selected, and thus its variables are shown in the expansion. If the user selects Object B, Object B's variables are shown.

Object A and Object B are both derived from the same base class, but these objects all have different member variables.

So, is this possible?

Please help me with this challenge.... I need to figure this out bad. How do I calculate balance?

I have two tables that stores balance and transaction information about an account.

The first table stores all the transaction with transaction amount and effective date. The transaction has a code that differentiates deposit or withdrawal.

The other table stores balance but this balance is not historical. It is a rolling balance. It keeps on updating every time there is a transaction.

There is no place that stores the historical balance information after each transaction.

How do I calculate balance after each transaction in the history table using the current balance and the transaction code? Below is the example…

This is how the balance is stored

Sending Email using MD5 Challenge-Reponse Authentication

Mars Bar Challenge

A colleague has set us a challenge - winner get a mars bar.

To be honest, I'm not bothered about the bar but the questions has stumped me and I am really curious to see if this can be done because I cannot think of way at all.....

Write a class that will take in a list of any type and return a sorted list of any type.

So for example, if I feed in a list of integers, it should return me a sorted list of integers

or if I feed in a list of DateTimes, it should return me a sorted list of DateTimes

This is where I break down, what if you feed in a list of a class I have written e.g. "MyClass". How can you return a sorted list of "MyClass"

Anyone have any ideas?

Read only PropertyGrid

I've been looking for ways to make the PropertyGrid read only. I found a sample here that's closely match to what I need but there's an issue with this sample and I couldn't figure it out http://dotnetfacts.blogspot.com/2008/06/how-to-set-propertygrid-as-read-only.html

I'm using more than one PropertyGrid and when I set one PropertyGrid (custom PropertyGrid) ReadOnly property to True, all of the PropertyGrids (System.Windows.Forms.PropertyGrid) become readonly. It's weird because the code loops the properties of one object but the entire application seems to become readonly.  Not only that, when I tried set the ReadOnly property to "True" with any object selected in the PropertyGrid during design time, the PropertyGrid of VS "Properties" panel becomes ReadOnly and the entire project  becomes readonly.

Can anybody tell me what went wrong? Or could you tell me how to make the PropertyGrid read-only in other way.

Thanks so much.

Here's the code:

The property which can only be modified via propertyGrid Control.(Ref - WinForm,C# ,PropertyGrid)

Hi ,

I want to have property in a class which is readonly when accessed via object referance and still able to modify when changed via PropertyGrid control.

Is there any way to this? There is provision to create properties that are only modified at design time(Ex . AcessibleName property for  any control). But here the proopery is need to change behaviour at runtime only depending on wheither is it modified via direct object referance or by using a PropertyGrid Control.

The requirement is that I want this properyt to be able to modify only through user interface(like propertyGrid ) but at the same time no one should be able to modify this property at runtime.
