Error deploying workflow feature in VS 2010

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 22, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

Hi all,

I have a VS 2010 state machine workflow solution, and am getting errors deploying the feature.  It is a 2 part question:

1. The error is: "Error occurred in deployment step 'Activate Features': Feature with Id '8ebb19f1-c0cc-49be-9d48-f56d0c0cfdf8' is not installed in this farm, and cannot be added to this scope."  Here is my feature:

 ReceiverClass="Microsoft.Office.Workflow.Feature.WorkflowFeatureReceiver" >
 <Property Key="GloballyAvailable" Value="true" />
 <Property Key="RegisterForms" Value="*.xsn"/>
 <ElementFile Location="ApprovalFormWComments.xsn" />

I added in the feature Id attribute just to try to resolve the error, but that didn't help as VS adds in the ID and scope automatically based on your settings in the feature designer window.

Access Denied/The workflow could not copy the item workflow error after Sharepoint 2010 upgrade

We have a sharepoint designer workflow that copies a document from one library to another on the same site.  Before the upgrade to 2007 it worked fine, but now with 2010 it gives an error and cancels the workflow when it gets to the copy list item step.   The error on the workflow page: The workflow could not copy the item. Make sure the source and destination lists have the same columns and column settings.  Access Denied   Specifically it is the "copy list item current item to documentlibrary" sharepoint designer workflow action.   I have given the system account full permissions to the library and double checked that all columns are the same in both libraries. Receiving Error when Trying to Develop Sharepoint 2007 Workflow using VS 2010 Pro

I have created a Windows Server 2003 Enterprise (32 bit) SP2 image configured with Sharepoint 2007 Enterprise and a trial edition of Visual Studio 2010 Professional.  All software is fully patched.  When I try to create a new Sharepoint 2007 Sequential Workflow (.NET Framework 3.5) in either C# or VB, I receive a pop-up error: Exception of type 'System.PlatformNotSupportedException' was thrown. and, when I click OK and fill in the name of the workflow and a valid Sharepoint Web URL for testing, I receive the following error: SharePoint site location entered is not valid.  The SharePoint site at <removed> could not be found.  Verify that you have typed the URL correctly.  If the URL should be serving existing content, the system administrator may need to add a new request URL mapping to the intended application. The URL in question references the default SharePoint site on this test server and does exist.  My assumption is that the second error received is a symptom of the first.  I have looked elsewhere and seen issues related to 64bit SharePoint implementations but, this is a 32 bit installation.  Based on the VS 2010 web site, I have met all of the prerequisites for developing SharePoint 2007 workflows through VS 2010 Pro.  Does anyone have any ideas on what I might be missing or what I need to

Problems when deploying sequential workflow with association Infopath form of sharepoint 2010 using

I’ve create a workflow project with infopath in it. And I get the error

 “Error occurred in deployment step 'Activate Features': Unable to locate the workflow's association data. To restore the association data to the workflow, restart the workflow settings wizard by selecting the workflow node in Solution Explorer and then clicking the ellipsis button (…) on one of the properties in the Properties window that has an ellipsis button.”

I'd really appreciate of any help.

'Unable to load native components' error after deploying SQL CE 3.5 app with VS 2010

Dev environment is VS 2010 on Win7 Ultimate 64-bit. Build configuration is x86 (32-bit). App runs fine in dev.

Then I build a Setup project for testing on a target machine. The target machine is a clean Windows XP Mode VM which (I believe) is 32-bit.

The app installs and starts fine on target machine, but then throws this error when it attempts to access the sdf database:

"Unable to load the native components of SQL Server Compact corresponding to the ADO.NET provider of version 8080. Install the correct version of SQL Server Compact. Refer to KB article 974247 for more details."

That KB article refers to 64-bit scenarios, which does not apply to my 32-bit Windows XP Mode target machine (my understanding is that Windows XP Mode is 32-bit even on 64-bit hosts).

In VS, the Setup and Deployment project seems to correctly include the .DLL as a detected dependency, and is including C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server Compact Edition\v3.5\Desktop\System.Data.SqlServerCe.dll in the msi package. On the target machine, I've verified that this file is being installed into the target directory, along with the main executable. If I remove the file, I experience the expected error of being unable to load an assembly that can't be found, and then if I put it back, the "unable to load native components"

Error when creating a Workflow in SharePoint 2010

Hello All,

Just wantd to get some help with this problem.  I was trying to create an Out of the Box Signatures Workflow in my test SharePoint 2010 environment but I get the following error:

The following location is not accessible, because it is in a different site collection: http://<servername>/_catalogs/wfpub/Collect%20Signatures%20-%20SharePoint%202010/Signatures_1033.xsn.

Some more info, I did change my server's name just before I tried this.  I did reboot the server and ran the stsadm command -renameserver to force the name change on the server.  I then also did an IIS reset.  Everytime I try to do an IISReset, the first time always comes with:

If I try it again, it does it fine.  When I click on the central admin icon from the Admin t

SiteUrl feature property error when using BCS/BDC Model in VS 2010 Beta 2

I'm having this problem, and im not sure if this is a bug or im supposed to do something.

When creating a BDC (BCS) model in VS2010 Beta 2, VS adds a property called "SiteUrl" to the BDC feature properties (You can find that in the properties panel when you select the BDC model item in solution explorer).
This property is causing a problem when i try to deploy the package to another server; obviously because it is storing my development machine site Url and when it gets activated on the other server (test server) it will throw an error saying that the site does not exist.
The workaround that i do is to remove that property and create the package, which works fine, but then if i close VS and reopen the solution again, the SiteUrl property comes back again.

I can also see that this will cause a problem if other developers are working on the same code. They will basically get that SiteUrl on their machine which might point to another developer's machine.

Any comments on this?

SharePoint Desinger 2010 approval workflow error

I created a copy of the out-of-the-box globally reusable workflow titled, "Approval - SharePoint 2010."

I then modified the "Initiation Form Parameters" in the workflow copy that I created. By default, the "Show on Form" settting for these parameters - Approvers, Expand Groups, Request, Due Date for all Tasks, Duration per Task, Duration Units, CC is set to "Both" (i.e. show these parameters during Initiation and Association). I did not want to display these parameters during Initiation, as we don't want end-users to change these settings. I want them to be displayed during Association only. We want Administrators only to be able to configure these parameters.

So I changed the "Show on Form" setting for the above parameters to "Association (attaching to a list)." I am able to save the workflow. And when I click on "Check for Errors" no errors are reported. But when I attempt to publish the workflow, I get the following error:

Errors were found when compiling the workflow. The workflow files were saved but cannot be run. And when I click on the "Advanced" button in the error message, I see this detailed error:

(0, 0) Activity 'ID4' validation failed: Property 'DurationUnit' has invalid

Share Point 2010 Workflow throws error Workflow Failed to run when using a Pause Untill condition

I need to define a workflow where every night it checks the end date and if it is in past it should delete that list item. To achieve this I defined two workflows on the list which satrt when item created or modified. One workflow just checks the date and if past deletes the item. Another workflow I have defined as timer workflow which pauses untill 1am next day and then updates a hidden filed in the list item which triggers another instance of the timer workflow as well as deletion workflow.

Everything works fine if I remove the pause Until action, but if I use Pause Until or Pause For Duration the workflow does not resume and throws error workflow failed to run.

I googled and found this issue with 2007 and some hotfixes but could not find any solution for 2010 Anyone experienced the same issue?

Newbie SharePoint Enterprise 2010 "Activate feature" / deploy error...

Hi all...

I am a complete newbie to SharePoint.

I have installed VS2010 and SharePoint Enterprise 2010.

I am administrator on the server, I am db_owner on content DB, I am in the

WSS_ADMIN_WPG, I am a farm administrator and I am quite sure that I am the site

collection owner.

Aren´t these permissions the right ones for a developer or do I need anything?

When I deploy my solution from VS2010, I get a "
Error occurred in deployment step 'Activate Features': Feature with Id '8bafdda9-

e6cc-49da-9438-49b1f7be383e' is not installed in this farm, and cannot be added to

this scope."

Why do I recieve this error!?

Please help, before I turn mad! :-(
