Can anyone have information to share on,
As to how SharePoint 2010 sync with Oracle OID?
Is it supported from Microsoft? and
What are the ramifications?
Any help is highly appreciated.

I am having some issues with syncing project 2010 and sharepoint.
The following scenario works well...
Sync to sharepoint list.
Save Project file.
However the following scenario does not work well...
Sync to Sharepoint list.
Forget to save project file.
When i re-open project file and sync, i get the error...
The task list was last synchronized to a different project plan. If you continue the task list will be appended to the project plan.
If I continue at this stage then i get a naming error.
One workaround is to delete all the project plan tasks and re-sync.
This brings all the sharepoint tasks back into the project file..
However, I cannot use the existing milestone field in SharePoint to sync with the project file.
Is there any way to sync project fields into existing columns in SharePoint?
I do not want to create a new column as i have a number of views with the old milestone column as part of a filter.
actually i would like to perform a sync between ms project 2010 and sharepoint list, i want to actually create some sites
and lists in sharepoint when i click the sync button in ms project. is their anyway i can do this ? thanks
I have followed Jie Lie (Technical sharepoint Product Manger) steps in entirety (http://blogs.msdn.com/b/opal/archive/2009/11/19/user-profile-sync-setup-in-sharepoint-server-2010-beta.aspx),
my sync with AD is working fine except it is not pulling the pictures in the AD.
Here is my issue, we have photos of all employees stored as domain.xyz.jpg in the custom attribute (emp_pics_2001) with type string, but the picture url type is url (is this the culprit type change), I am using the custom attribute to map the field in the
Sharepoint 2010 miis client.
I am using the below url to do the set up:
i did check the profile db picture url field is NULL, i have all the other values for person except the picture.., I have already wasted more than 2 days in figuring this out
If i just get domain.xyz.jpg pulled to sharepoint, then i can prefix a url in front of it using powershell
I am using a full trusted service account with full permissions to the domain
please help me out..
Need Clarifications on SharePoint 2010 User Profile properties and Sync database security Need few clarifications on SharePoint 2010 user profile sync. I’ve answered some of them but need confirmation/clarity on this front.
Is there option to disable ‘email address’ import from AD?
Yes. Can disable that property mapping. Possible to send mails (user alerts) from SharePoint without the user profile property ‘email address’ mapped?
Yes. User alert mails from SharePoint will work without ‘email address’ mapped in user profile DB.
In case email address too is imported into SharePoint, can we bulk export them from SharePoint? If Yes, how to security harden that database?
Not Sure. I believe Farm admin account/sync account has access to do this profile DB.
Thanks in advance for your advice.<

I have an Oracle Form where I am recording Employee Details.
What I want is whenever i am recording an Employee Details I want a folder for the employee to be created in the SharePoint Server 2010 site.
Is this achievable?
If so, please guide/help me.
We are trying to access Oracle database table through SharePoint 2010 List. The functionality required is, the user should be able to read the data from the Oracle table in to
the SharePoint 2010 List and should also be allowed to update the list and in turn the data should be updated back in to the oracle table.
Over and above any changes made to the oracle table by users, should be updated in the sharepoint 2010 list. Which means the users require a two synchronisation from SharePoint
2010 List to Oracle table and vice versa.
let us know if anyone has worked on this before.
