What Survey "Question and Type" would you use with:

In a SP Survey, I need a question like:

Where the user can type in a value for both Vendor and Course fields.
I was thinking to use a "Multiple lines of text" field and change its default value using SP Designer.  Perhaps somebody has a better -or more elegant- way to do it?

Progress Bar with Survey

I got the below lireature from http://doc.essentialobjects.com/library/1/eo.web.progressbar.aspx. The only thing I have found this good for is if there is a task or process that you want to show the user the status of how much is completed. In my case I just want to show the user how far along they are in a survey. I am having trouble understanding this so that I can write client side JavaScript API to get this to work and do  what I need to do, which is increase the progress meter and show how far along in the survey the user is. It says to use ProgressBar.setValue(value), but I dont know where to place it in my application, nor what value to pass, to where?  Any help with this is greatly appreciated.

ProgressBar Class

A ProgressBar is a graphical component that provides information about the status of a given task.

Is there any possibility to define a search scope for a Survey

Hi All, I have a survey list in SharePoint. I need to define a search scope such that the search results are pulled only from this Survey list. I have created many scopes for lists and was always working fine without any issues. But now, i created a scope for the Survey list, with the rule to include items from the folder https://server/lists/Survey%20list.spx. Though there are around of 1000's of items in the list, after the crawl the number of items returned is zero. So, is there any way for defining a scope for a Survey? Thanks in Advance... Regards, Sivai... :)

Link Access 2007 to SharePoint 2007 Survey

So here is my problemo. I am trying to organize site requests into a system that will let us easially see what requests have come in and who are the particular owners or users associated with the requests. Currently we use a SharePoint 2007 Survey to collect all the requests. I was hoping to upgrade things by linking the Survey list to an Access 2007 db so we can manage the data better. However, whenever I attempt to link the Access DB to a SharePoint list, none of the survey lists show up. I was wondering if there was a way to make it so whenever someone completes a survey, it updates the Access DB. I have figured out a way to get this to work with InfoPath but I would rather use the surveys that already exist. Thank you, Jeb G.

Survey: Add sentences, titles, groups, page breaks?

Hi community I want to add different things to a sharepoint survey. - Title between questions - create question groups - add a finishing sentence like "Thank you for your time...". - choose the page break manually Does anybody know if it is possible and how? Thx

Odd SharePoint Survey behavior

I created two survey's. Let's call them A and B. Created both from the same template. Have created over 100 other surveys from the same template in the past and have never seen this phenomenon before. Created survey A. Everything looks fine. Had a coworker put in a fake response and it was shown normally. Created survey B. Same result; everything is fine. Then I went back to survey A and I see the responses for B. The A responses are no longer showing. When I go to 'survey settings' for A, I get the page for survey B settings. I can hover over the response links in A and see they are pointing to B. However, if I go to 'all site content' I see both A and B listed. If I hover over A, it show the link going to A (as it should). If I click the link, I am taken to survey A....but it's still showing responses from B! The only way to get to the actual A responses is to use 'manage content and structure' to manually get there. Everything appears checked in and up to date. I have never seem this before and really have no idea what to try....

Hello Everybody. I'm trying to do a survey, but have some doubt about it. I'd like do insert some text field in Sharepoint Services 3.0 Survey. Sharepoint Survey Question

I am making a single question survey to vote on a list a videos in a document library.  Is there a way to make the options links?  I have tried quote a few things including hard coding the link (it just displays it all as text) and trying to lookup from a links list but the URL column is not availabe.  I'm open to suggestions but don't really want to do any complex mods in sharepoint.

Adding a custom Label on each Survey page

Hi, I created a Survey with 10 questions (Yes/No choices).  The first 5 questions are related to a specific topic and the last 5 ones to another topic.  Thus, each set of 5 questions is separated by a Page Separator.  What I'd like to do is to display a custom "Label" for each set of questions.  For example, the first set would be "2010 courses" and the second one would be "2011 courses".  I think this should be done using SP Designer but I'm not sure how. Thanks.

SharePoint 2007 - Survey list - Getting user's Windows account ID from a web service using display

Surveys...grrrr.   I am developing a .NET console application that accesses survey data from a single survey list using the MOSS web service "Lists".   I am able to enumerate the survey list and get to the items except for the author of the survey response.  When I get to the column ows_Author, it appears to be a lookup value formatted like this:  "1066;#JOHN DOE".   How can I, using web services alone, lookup the corresponding Windows login ID of that user?  If I go to the survey in SharePoint and click on the name in the view, it takes me to a site-based user profile page that does show the account ID I want.  The page that displays appears to be a virtualized page like this "_layouts/userdisp.aspx?ID=1066".   What I really need is JOHN DOE's account ID like "domain\id". Can I get to this with the data I have available? Thanks

How can you remove the Save button on a survey?

What options are there to remove the SAVE button from a SharePoint survey?I need to remove this if possible, I was hoping it would be as simple as editing a form in the Survey list... but that is apparently not the case.I need to supress the SAVE button as it confuses end users and we don't want any half completed surveys. Either it gets finished or not at all.Can someone hopefully provide me with an nice simple solution?  Or any solution at all :)Thanks!

Replacing a text question in a Survey using JavaScript at runtime (document.body.innerHTML.replace)

Hi, I want to replace some of the text in a SharePoint Survey at runtime.  The idea behind that is to add a "header" or "title" to questions that are related together.  For example, let's say I have 2 related questions, a page separator, and 2 more related questions: (yes/no type of questions): Q1.  Are you between 20 and 40? Q2.  Did you went to college?   --page separator-- Q3.  J2EE Q4.  C/C++ The result on the final Survey should look like this: Tell us about you. Are you between 20 and 40?  Did you went to college?   --page separator-- Indicate what programming languages you know: J2EE C/C++ Simply, I tried to use the document.body.innerHTML.replace() in order to replace:  - Q1 with: <h2>Tell us about you.</h2>  - Q2 with ''  - Q3 with: <h2>Indicate what programming languages you know:</h2>  - Q4 with: '' Using the technique below, I added the following code in SharePoint Designer in NewForm.aspx: <asp:Content ContentPlaceHolderId="PlaceHolderTitleAreaClass" runat="server"> <script id="onetidPageTitleAreaFrameScript"> document.getElementById("onetidPageTitleAreaFrame").className="ms-areaseparator"; document.body.innerHTML = document.body.innerHTML.replace(/Q1/g,'

Survey summary and redirection to diffrent page

Hi I'm using standard survey list to gather some opinion around diffrent stuff from the users. Few days ago someone from the bussiness came to me and ask if this is possible to redirect user to some page once he submit his vote, so he will not be redirected to default "overview" page. I was trying to use "?Source={URL}" parameter to achive that but this seems to not work. Does anyone has some idea how to overcome this ? thanks in advance Mariusz Gorzoch Blog : http://mariusz.gorzoch.pl Twitter : http://twitter.com/MariuszGorzoch Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/mariusz.gorzoch
