This works for list views, But not for Performance point dashboard objects/web parts, +
Is there a way to somehow get the title of all performance point objects on a page, fill the dropdownbox show/hide depending on the selected item in the box?
We have a sharepoint site with two main lists.
List 1: I could open the pages, make changes BUT cannot create workflows (for the site).
List 2: I could not even open it. I get the message
"You do not have permission to do this operation. Ask your web site administrator to change your permission and try again, or log on with user account that has this permission ...."
I am secondary server administrator and also have 'full control' of the site.
I have an Infopath form that submits the data onto a SharePoint list. Everything works if the user has 'view, insert, edit, delete' access to the list. However, we dont want them to be able to delete and view the item so we gave this user group only 'insert'
access. After doing so, they get the following error message:
The following DataObject either cannot be created or cannot be initialized:
The query cannot be run for the following DataObject: NameOfList
InfoPath cannot run the specified query.
The SOAP response indicates that the error occurred on the server:
Server was unable to process request. ==> The root element is missing.
Anyone know if there's another way to solve this without granting the user group full access to the List? I'm not an admin, I just normally request what type of permission to set on our sharepoint sites.
Thanks for the help
i need to set permission to the List item that Item should be able to edit by Item Created User, and should be viewable by the Sharepoint groups that User selects when creating a New Item
How can i achieve this ?
Thanks and Regards,
what is the least permission level tht has to be given to user on a specific list to be able to modify a new form on a list using infopath ?
Does SharePoint out of the box has any reports that report the change of permission to list/list item?
User A change the permission of List Item A by adding a new user
User B change the permission of List Item A by removing a user
Thank in advance.
I have created a custom list with work flow associated with that. The workflow takes the item through different levels of approval.
My workflow scenario is like Say an initiator add an item, which will go to manager for approval. When the manager approves, few columns in the current list will get updated. On manager approval it will be forwarded to head of department. Again when the
Dept head takes an action, the column values of the list get updated. For all these users i have set Contribute permission. But the problem is that an item started by an initiator should not be editable or deleted by other users using the pull down menu that
appears for each item. Only the owner of the item and manager should have permission to edit it using the pull down menu. When i tried changing the edit access for the item through Advance settings-->Item level permission --Edit access being set to "Only
their own" while manager or dept head approving i get an access denied error message.
Can any one please suggest me what is the work around for this?
I have added Shapoint Contact List. I dont want to show Business/Home and MObile no fieldsÃÂ to all the normal users. Only some specific users can see these fields.

I have search working in general for site. However, when I run it only picks up files - not list items. Even List search in top right comes up with blank results.
I read somewhere that this is switched off due to size of search results.
Can someone tell me how to include List Items in search?
I have a simple SharePoint 2010 list named "Tips". Each item consists of a Title and Description. I want to display a single item at a time in a sidebar on my site with arrows to advance to the next or previous item in the list. I've been able to accomplish
this pretty easily using OOTB SharePoint XSLT list view web part settings and AJAX. However, when I tell the web part to only display 1 item at a time the pager always says it's showing item "1 of 1" or "2 of 2". It won't show the total number of items from
the list. I'd like it to show something like item "1 of 25", etc. How do I get it to display the total count of items from the list? I've looked at possibly using aggregation attributes on a FieldRef but I've not been able to get anything to work. I'm
not even sure that's the right place to be looking. I'm needing to accomplish this without writing a custom web part.
