Form that is part of workflow wont open in form library

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 22, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

I am having an issue with my form. I have created a sharepoint sequential workflow using visual studio and as a task the user has to fill out an infopath form. When the form is submitted as part of the workflow is then saved to a form library. My issue is when I try to open the form in the form library I get the message "The form has been closed".

I have check the Central Admin/Manage Form Templates and my form is here, status="Ready" and workflow enabled. But my form doesnt exist in the sitecollection/FormTemplate library. So I believe that when I try to open the form in the browser that template cant be found. Why I say that is when I open the form with the info path client, I get the message "The form was created with a new version of the form template. InfoPath cannot find the new version. Do you want to open with an older one"
If a infopath form is part of a workflow and it be saved in a form library and then open, if so how?
Am I publishing the form incorrectly - I publish to network location. Then install my feature.
Do I need to associated the form template with the form library or should the feature installation take care of this?

- FormTemplate Library doesnt appear in site settings, I

Not able to open workflow task form

I have a workflow created using SharePoint Designer 2010. This workflow has 'Collect Data' task. When the workflow is run, a task is created in the task list, however users can not open the task from the list and get the following error. There has been an error while loading the form. A form template (.xsn) file can not be accessed. You may not have the required permissions to open the file. The users who are trying to open the task have full control on the task list as well as the list from where the workflow is started. Site Collection Administrators are able to open the task. I am not sure at which place the users dont have permissions that they are not able to open the task.Tarun

In a workflow, how do I pass the original library url to the task form?

Creating a workflow, where I need to display the originating library url (along with document name) in the task form.  I know that the SPWorkflowActivationProperities has the value (its itemurl), but how do I then make that available so that the task can see it? I tried to put it in the extended properties on the task invoking "createDocumentApproval_TaskProperties.ExtendedProperties["MyOriginalUrl"] = workflowProperties.ItemUrl;" but I dont see it when I open the Task form by using a Request.Params. Any help will be greatly appreciated thxRocky Sanders

Can a filtered web part open a broswer based IP form?

MOSS Enterprise 2007, IP designed to be broswer based.  Primary naviagtion to IP form is via a web part page (page viewer).  This works well for "new" forms, but any attempt to "edit" an existing XML from the library opens the form in a new window without any other web parts.  Is there a method of building a web part page that will "load" an existing XML file?

Workflow wont complete on infopath form

I have created many successful workflows on my infopath submittable forms

this time I cannot get the form to complete.   It will only start.       I am submitting to a SharePoint list that has 4 content types,  each representing a new form type

I am using a lookup value,  from a sharepoint list,  as a dropdown in my form.    The action I am trying to initiate is,    when a condition is met,  send an email,   using the  email provided in the dropdown.   This has worked before in other Libraries,  using the exact lookup lists.

I am wondering if having multiple forms in the library may be affecting my results.   The condition I am picking is unique to the one form.

Any ideas out there?

Suggest best way to do this approval workflow for share point form library.

Give some reference to do this.

Open existing form with the InfoPath Form Web Part

Hello.  I have a custom .aspx page with a single InfoPath Form Web Part that is connected to a form library.  I can open up that form just fine and submit a new form to the library.  I can also open that existing form from the library.  However,  I want to provide the users a way to open existing forms using another custom page with the InfoPath Form Web Part.

A little background... I build a custom web part that populates a sharepoint gridview (SPGridView) with the existing forms from the forms library.  I can pass in the name of the file which allows the form to be open using the InfoPath Web Form in a browser.  That works nicely, but the users would like to open up the form using the InfoPath Form Web Part also.  Is there a way to pass a parameter (e.g. file name) to a page that contains the IPFWP that will open the form in the web part?

How to create a workflow that submit an infopath form to a library of a specific user

can someone help me with this?

i'm using wss 3.0 and infopath 2007.

i have a form that need to be approved by a specific approver.

first when the user submit the form it send an email to the specific approver and the form is also submitted to a library.

so the approver gets an email and the approver need to get the form submitted to his library.

the email part is working fine. now i miss the library part.

i think i need to use a workflow. but how can i create a workflow that assinged a to-do item to a specific approver instead of a group.

in my library i have the following fields:

form name, created by and aprrover's name.

now i need the workflow to look up for the name of the approver and send an "assigned a to-do item" to the specific approver of the form

can someone help me with this?

How to set or assign a Workflow Variable from data entered in a Form Web Part

Greetings -

I have a Form Web Part wherby the user enters a number

That number is sent to a subsequent Data View WebPart that uses the number to pull data from another source via a Web Service.

This all works fine. BUT

I'd also like for that number entered into the Form Web Part to be set as a Variable to be used until a new number is entered into the Form Web Part when the variable will be changed accordingly.

I need the newly set variable to be later used for filtering out data in other lists and views.

I also need the variable to automatically set a field in any newly created list item.

Gurus, please help.

"New Document" button on Form Library fails to open a new document

I have just finished installing sharepoint server standard edition 2010. I did a server farm installation using SQL 2008 on Windows Server 2008 R2. I did not run the farm configuration wizard. I have manually setup User Profile Synchronization and Search Service Applications. I then created a web application and site collection to play around with. I created a Form Library for some Infopath forms I had and set the template. Now when I attempt to create a new document for the form library I recieve the following message

"This feature requires Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0 or later and a Microsoft SharePoint Foundation-compatible XML editor such as Microsoft Infopath."

I have the site collection configured to open files in their client applications by default.

This behavior occurs in all of my document libraries as well. I have also noticed that sharepoint doesn't appear to recognize what type of office file the library template is using as the new document icon is always just a blank white page instead of the miniature office word/excel/infopath icon.

Any insight into some setup steps I have missed or anything would be helpful

Using Infopath form fieldnames in a workflow fails

I designed a form in Infopath and I published it on a SP2007 server to use in a workflow in a library. That goes fine. In the workflow I send an email message. I can use the fields from my Infopath form in the message that I create.
If the workfow is starts, Shrepoints sends me the message. But it does not use the fields from my InfoPtah form in the message in stead I see questionmarks.

Why doesn't it show the fields?

I alse saw (maybe this makes it clear) that when I let it dipslay the URL in the message, it show: http://1.portal.lucasonderwijs, but the actual site is whithout the "1" and it should also start with https://

Has anyone seen this before?

Thank you,

Updating Task Lists and Form Libraries From Workflow Form

There are actually two separate (I think) problems here. The scenario: I used the SharePoint Designer 2007 to create a workflow attached to a form library. When a form is submitted to the library, a To-Do-Item is created on a task list. The To-Do-Item is initially assigned to a GROUP. A user from the group then selects the name of an individual from a choice list in edit item. This person now becomes the Assigned To for the task.

What is needed is 1) To update the Assigned To column of the Form library when someone in the GROUP assigns the task to an INDIVIDUAL; and 2) To have the Due Date from the submitted InfoPath form propagate to the task list.

I've tried having one workflow try to do everything and also having a secondary workflow set up on the task list to do the task assignment update but have not been successful in solving either issue. I don’t think that I am really understanding how to Define Workflow Lookup when not working with the Current Item. I know what fields I want but I don’

InfoPath Workflow Task Form "Loading" event handler only being called after App Pool recycled.

I have a Workflow that is using an InfoPath task form.  In the "FormEvents_Loading" method event handler I have some code that needs to run each time the form is opened.   I recycle the App Pool and open the form the code runs perfectly, but if I close and try to re-open the form the code is not run at all.  I can then recycle the App Pool again and on the next load the code executes just fine.   The code that is supposed to be run is a very simple statement to set a field value, so I don't think it is interfering.

Does anyone know what this might be?

InfoPath form checked out so 'on create' workflow not being started

Hi all,

I have found a couple of threads asking for advice on how to check in an InfoPath form when it’s saved or submitted to a forms library. The reason for doing this is so a workflow can start based on a new item being created in that library, and so it doesn’t just sit there with a “Starting” status.

The answers I have found contradict each other:

·         You have to do it with a workflow.  This can be done easily with SharePoint Designer if that's an option for you. Source:

Infopath form return XMl code during workflow task

1.     Review 7777.xml.

2.     Perform the specific activities required for this task.

Use the Edit this task button to mark the task as completed. (If you cannot update this task, you might not have access to it. Click here to request access.
