Installing/Configuring Exchange 2010 to Accomodate Sharepoint 2007

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 21, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint
My company is in the process of installing Microsoft Exchange Server 2010.  I am interested in ideas of how best to configure Exchange 2010 so that SharePoint 2007 is in position to take optimal advantage of the features offered by Exchange 2010.  Any feedback on this would be helpful.  Thanks.

Sharepoint 2010 Calendar Overlay with Exchange 2007

I'm trying to add calendar overlays in Sharepoint 2010 however the OWA URL's don't seem to work. Everytime I use the following url:

I get an 'Unexpected Error'. After checking through the logs, it seems to be an XML exception.

System.Xml.XmlException: '=' is an unexpected token. The expected token is ';'. Line 1, position 520

The URL's that I'm using were taken from Technet, so I can only assume that they're correct. When I put the same URL's in the brow

Configuring Profile Image Export in SharePoint 2010

It's no secret that I am thrilled with the new social features of SharePoint 2010. I am most excited about the new Profile Picture handling. I strongly believe that the more we can show the faces of our colleagues to one another the more connected we will feel. Clearly Microsoft feels that way as witnessed by the many features that make use of the Profile Image like the Activity Feed and Colleagues list

Sharepoint 2010 look and feel same as 2007

Is it possible to have the same look and feel/theme of sharepoint 2007 in SP 2010? Even when you upgrade from 2007 to 2010, how can you retain the default look and feel of 2007 in your new SP 2010? thanks.

Cannot crawl sharepoint site and mysite after database attach upgrade form sharepoint 2007 to 2010.

After database attach upgrade site and mysite from sharepoint 2007 to 2010 , I have full crawl and get "The crawler could not communicate with the server. Check that the server is available and that the firewall access is configured correctly. If the repository was temporarily unavailable, an incremental crawl will fix this error. ( Error from SharePoint site: HttpStatusCode ServiceUnavailable The request failed with HTTP status 503: Service Unavailable. )" for mysite and get "Access is denied. Verify that either the Default Content Access Account has access to this repository, or add a crawl rule to crawl this repository. If the repository being crawled is a SharePoint repository, verify that the account you are using has "Full Read" permissions on the SharePoint Web Application being crawled." for sharepoint site. The content access account for search is "db_owner" of both of site and mysite. How do I solved this problem ?

Exchange Server 2007 SP1 mailbox migration into 2010

Hi Everyone, I’ve got all in one Exchange Server 2007 SP1 RU3 that got all in one role installed (HT-CAS-MBx) in Windows Server 2003 Standard R2 SP which is also running as domain controller with all FSMO role. I’m planning to migrate the Exchange Server 2007 server role into the Exchange Server 2010 Standard that I have prepared in my Virtual Machine of Windows Server 2008 R2, what is the safest migration path to make the email flow working end to end parallel (staging migration process). (please also not that this Exchange Server 2007 SP1 got so many problem like – OOF email error in Outlook 2007, meeting scheduler stopped working, etc… therefore updating it into SP3 is not the way here and I've backed up the mailbox using Backup Exec 2010 in case i can just restore the backed up mailbox into the new server 2010 if possible) My this is what I’m about to do: 1. Transfer all FSMO role into another domain controllers 2. Install and configure similar role in the new VM (Exchange Server 2010 Std.) 3. Confused… Things to do after all mailbox migration: 1. Cutover the MX record into the new server name 2. Install updated UCC- SSL certificate into the exchange server 2007 Any kind of help and suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Sharepoint Foundation 2010 problems with Office 2007 ActiveX controls

I have a SPF server that I recently upgraded from WSS 3 using the database attach method. The new server configuration is SQL 2008 R2 with SPF 2010 on Windows 2008 64bit SP2. Mostly things are working fairly well, though there have been a few fires to put out. The latest inflamation seems to be centered around ActiveX controls for Office 2007. I'm getting the following message whenever I try to create a new document using the New button: " 'New Document' requires a Microsoft SharePoint Foundation-compatible application and web browser. To add a document to this document library, click the 'Upload Document' button." On the client side, the browser is IE8 on Windows 7 (Windows is 64bit, though the browser is in 32 bit mode.) using Office 2007. I've also had the same problem with systems running XP. In terms of troubleshooting, other activeX related features seem to be working fine. I can open datasheet views, if I click on a document, it will open in the appropriate client. However, I have some libraries where the Word document template opens the document information panel and those will give thhe following message on open: "One or more ActiveX controls could not be displayed because either: 1)Your current security settings prohibit running ActiveX controls on thi page , or 2) You have blocked a publisher of one of the contols. As a result the page mi

SharePoint 2007 + VS 2010 vs. SharePoint 2010 + VS 2010?

We just started to develop SharePoint Intranet by using WSS 3.0, and are planning to get SharePoint 2007.  Meanwhile, we will upgrade VS 2008 to VS 2010.  Therefore, for our future SharePoint Development in Visual Studio, we probably will be using VS 2010 for SharePoint 2007 applications. My question is, will SharePoint 2007 be good enough for VS 2010?  Or we have to get SharePoint 2010 for using VS 2010?

Configuring SharePoint Foundation 2010 with ADFS 2.0 in a multi-tenant environment using subscripti

Hi, I am trying to configure SharePointFoundation 2010 and ADFS 2.0 in a multi-tenant environment, where I have one Web Application and two site collections, each one under one subscription.  At this point is still a very simple infrastructure with one single Domain, AD and ADFS.  My problem starts with the configuration of ADFS 2.0 as Identity Provider in SharePoint. Since I have only one web application, the directory for the incoming token is "_trust" is placed at the root level or the application. Is there a way to change the location where this directory is created, so I can have one distinct one for each one of my site collections ? Or in other words, is there a way to have on identity provider by site collection ?  Thank in you advance for any information on this.   --MD.
