InfoPath Print View in web based InfoPath forms not printing

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 21, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

Hi All,

I am using InfoPath 2007 web based forms along with SharePoint 2007. I have set print views in all forms with proper formatting. But when I try to print a form, print view is not printed instead current view of infopath is printed. This behavior is happening in InfoPath Web based forms however in InfoPath client based forms I am successfully able to print a form with print view.

Can any body help me how to solve this problem ?

Infopath 2007 not printing footer in browser print view

I have added a footer to the print view of a browser enabled form and it is not printing when printing the form. The footer is relatively sinmple, however when I click on print view on the browser form and use print preview, I cannot see the footer at all. I have set bottom margins to auto, however I am using an image in my header and therefore have a section at the top of each page where my page top margin is set to 0 and the margins lie within the bounds of the section at .25". The footer that is not displaying in print preview in the form is as follows;"Quote Number: &{/my:myFields/my:sqnumber&} &b&pof&P&b &b &{/my:myFields/my:group28/my:sqdate&}Revision: &{xdFormatting:FormatString("/my:myFields/my:sqquoterevision","number","numDigits:0;negativeOrder:1;")&} &b Prepared For: &{/my:myFields/my:sqclientname&}"The page setup in IE listed page number and url info when using print preview and I have set them to none because my footer is in the form. Please help, this is frustrating!

Adding custom help to browser based Infopath forms

We are developing a browser-based application with Infopath 2010 forms.  We would like to provide buttons that pop up a separate browser window containing an HTML help page, which would be stored in a SharePoint Wiki.  I understand it is not possible to call JavaScript from a browser form, which was the initial thought.

What other approaches are there for providing custom help in Infopath?

Browser based InfoPath forms in Sharepoint error

I have a form that we built in InfoPath2010 and I am trying to publish it to SharePoint2010 using the "broswer-based" capability. The form works in preview mode in InfoPath, but when I publish it to SharePoint, I get the follwing error:

"You do not have permissions to access a database that contains data required for this form to function correctly.
An entry has been added to the Windows event log of the server.

Log ID:5566

Correlation ID:9161ac7c-7b8f-4164-907a-14426c54b24f"
The form has two main data connections, both are tables in a sql database server. They display data from the tables, and the users are also able to input data into the database. The form right now is configured as "full" trust, as we have custom code in the form that will only work with that setting. I have also uploaded the two UDC connection to a data connection library in SharePoint, but no luck.
Here is part of the  the custom code in our form that may be causing issues:

Infopath view based on roles

hi, me again

i have created a form with 3 views.

what i'm trying to do is seperate the form in 3, for the user, approver and submitter to database.

first the user open the form to fill it in. then the approver opens the form to approve it, and at last the "submitter to database" open the form to send the records to the database.

for each view i created a role. when the user open the form it opens the form with the view for the user, and when the approver open the form it opens the form with the view for the approver.

but when the "submitter to the database" open the form it opens with the view of the approver.

how can i fix this so when the form is open by the "submitter to database" it opens with the view for the "submitter to database"?

Users who do not have permissions to access InfoPath 2007 web based form can view the form if someon

I have a SharePoint Form Library with an InfoPath form published to the form as the default template. The form library has several forms in it that have line item permissions. This is supposed to restrict who can view the form. If the user who has had their permissions removed navigates to the form through SharePoint the form does not display (this is expected behavior). However if the user is provided a link to the URL for the form then the can view the InfoPath form.

Here is an example of the link: http://moss.companyname.com/test/_layouts/FormServer.aspx?XmlLocation=/test/InfoPath%20Test/system2009-10-23T12_23_13.xml&Source=http%3A%2F%2Fmoss%2Ecompanyname%2Ecom%2Ftest%2FInfoPath%2520Test%2FForms%2FAllItems%2Easpx&DefaultItemOpen=1

In addition I tried to put the forms into a folder and restirct the permissions on the folder, but the restricted users can still view the form.

When I removed the users permission to the form library then they got an error message.

I also tested this with a SharePoint list item and restricted permissions and this did not allow the user to view the item.

Infopath browser form - Digital Signature resized in print view

I have an Infopath browser based form that I have a digital sig on.  When the user signs it (Valid Signature - Signed by) the font size is small and is acceptable for use in the form.  Howvever, when I go to "Print View" it resizes to a larger font.  I do not want this as I am trying to fit the form to one page.  I altered the font in the signing section in the Print View in Infopath to no avail.  Looking at the Manifest file, I cannot locate the code where it determines the font size.  Anyone have any ideas?

InfoPath - How to show multiline text box in print view with entire text i.e. text exceeds more than

I have created an Infopath form with a multiline text box, at times, there is more information entered into the text box, cause a user to scroll.
That feature is ok but when a user prints the form, only the information displayed on the screen is printed, and not the entire contents of the text box.  How can I print the entire contents of the text box?
also i dont want to create an another view as we have around 100 from and each can be change time to time causing print view need to be changed.

InfoPath: Turn User Input into XML with Custom Forms Using Office InfoPath 2003

Office InfoPath 2003 is a new Microsoft Office product that lets you design your own data collection forms that, when submitted, turn the user-entered data into XML for any XML-supporting process to use. With an InfoPath solution in place, you can convert all those commonly used paper forms into Microsoft Office-based forms and end the cycle of handwriting and reentering data into your systems. Today organizations are beginning to realize the value of the mountains of data they collect every day, how hard it is to access it, and are striving to mine it effectively. InfoPath will aid in the design of effective data collection systems. Here the author shows you how to get started.

Printing: Preview and Print from Your Windows Forms App with the .NET Printing Namespace

Printing is an integral part of every complete Windows-based application. Providing robust printing capabilities in these applications has often proved to be a tedious chore. Now, printing from Windows Forms with the .NET Framework means you must adopt a document-centric approach, resulting in cleaner and more manageable code. While the System.Windows.Forms namespace provides seamless integration with all the standard print dialogs (such as Print Preview, Page Setup, and Print), the System.Drawing.Printing namespace offers numerous classes for extensibility and customization. These classes, and how they provide access to printing capabilities, are covered here. Other useful techniques, such as printing in the background to allow the user to continue other tasks, is also explained.

Attachment upload error on browser based InfoPath form

I am having an interesting problem with browser based InfoPath forms in SharePoint 2007.  For some reason the file attachment control is not working any more.  It was working fine in July, but now it will not allow file attachments over a few kb.  I tried a 34KB file and I get the error below, a 2KB file works fine.

Unable to connect to SQL Server session database. The connection string (server='SPDB', database='SharedServices1_DB') was returned by an instance of the IPartitionResolver type 'Microsoft.Office.Server.Administration.SqlSessionStateResolver, Microsoft.Office.Server, Version=, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c'.   at System.Web.SessionState.SqlSessionStateStore.ThrowSqlConnectionException(SqlConnection conn, Exception e)

Overwriting Existing InfoPath 2003 Forms

I'm having a big problem in my Sharepoint Environment.

So far I've created a form in InfoPath 2003 and successfully published it to a Form Library. It's also submitting correctly (at least at first).

Now after I added a couple forms, let's say three forms with unique file names, and then I open the second one, make a change and submit it again, it disappears from the "All Items" list. I can still see it sitting in the "Explorer View", but it's missing in the other. Now when I try to "Fill out a new Form", it either won't show up in the list or it will show up but with the column fields that have been populated previously.

We're using WSS 2.0 and InfoPath 2003.

I used this guide to create the unique filenames: http://www.codeproject.com/KB/sharepoint/SharePointSubmitInfoPath.aspx

In my view, the issue lies in trying to overwrite existing files and not appearing in the list.

Any help is much appreciated !!!

Thanks in advance.

Issue in Infopath 2007 browser form - cascading dropdown using owssvr.dll filter view

Referring the below link, I created a cascading dropdown. The parent dropdown has sharepoint list as datasource and the child dropdown has xml datasource that points to owssvr.dll filter view. The cascading drop down works fine in preview but throws error after publishing as admin approved form - "form cannot run the specified query" exception when trying to execute xml datasource i.e., when a value is selected in parent dropdown. The security is 'Full Trust". In the event viewer the error message states "401 unauthorised" for the user a/c. the xml data source is an approved udcx file and in central admin, have enabled cross domain for infopath service. I have tried different solution provided in tech forums but issue still exists. Not sure whether Im missing something. Can someone guide me in fixing this issue?

Infopath 2010 Browser Based Form Vs Infopath 2010 Filler Based Form Issue

I have created a detailed infopath form that is connecting to multiple sharepoint lists, some of which contain thousands of rows and dozens of columns.  To tailor for the data load i have enabled the form to only pull in data as needed and on some of the lists i have created 5 or 6 data connections to the same list, each only looking at a certain set of data, and as you make your way through the form selecting your options, the data is pulled in. If i preview this form from within Infopath or if i launch it using Infopath filler this works great, the data is pulled through in under a second.  However if i then publish the form to the browser and launch it through the browser, it now takes roughly 30 seconds to pull in the data. My question is therefore this,  Is there something i can do to speed up the way the data is pulled in when launched through the browser?  are there transport protocols i can alter or something like that? maybe config in central admin or infopath config? any help would be gratefully appreciated as if i can not get the form to pull the data in fast through the browser then the whole project is a waste of time as my management team will never go for the solution if it is slow and will get slower as more data is added. thanks

Infopath form and forms library error

I've created an InfoPath 2010 form and associated it with a forms library on a SharePoint site. When I go to the library and choose "Add document" the form opens up to be filled out by the user. When the form is filled out, and the user tries to submit, they get an error saying that I need to configure SharePoint to allow cross-domain data access for user form templates that use connection settings in a data connection file and store a UDC file in the same site collection as the form. So I've enabled cross-domain data access and I've already created a Data Collection Library for Forms in the Site that is approved. What am I missing?  Why am I still getting the error?
