Hi, we are working with MOSS 2007, Infopath Forms Services, KPIs and Excel 2003. There is a view for some data of the Infopath forms which has to be exported to Excel by our users, but some columns are not exported - without any error message. If I try to export it to Excel 2007 everything is exported as expected, but our users have to use Excel 2003. Any idea?

When i export a list in excel 2007, it creates two extra columns named as type and path. At the same time this behaviour is not exhibited in office 2000. Is there any way to remove these two columns without using code ? Is there any configuration settings required for this, to remove it on the fly ? Thanks Ravish Verma

Export Visio Database Table Names to Excel

If you use the Enterprise Architect edition of Microsoft Visio for data modeling regularly, then there is a good chance that at some point you've wanted to export just the table names into Excel. You might want to do this to map logical ERD entities to physical data model tables, track project status by entity, or track overlap between database versions.

MS SQL Server: Search All Tables, Columns & Rows For Data or Keyword Query

If you need to search your entire database for specific data, this query will come in handy.

So when a client needs a custom report or some sort of custom development using Great Plains, most of the time I will have to track down the data in the system by running this query and find the table(s) it is in.

Adding Multiple Columns and Rows in GridView without using a Database

This article describes on how to add multiple columns and rows in GridView without using a database. Basically the GridView will be populated with data based on the values entered in each TextBoxes on Button Click and retain the GridView data on post back.

add columns with textboxes in gridview using C#

'm working on a shopping cart in a website and I have my items(which have been added to the cart) in an arraylist. And using these values I've read the rest of the values from the db and and have populated on the gridview successfully.

Export SharePoint List to Excel Spreadsheet Programmatically using C#

In SharePoint applications, Custom Lists are used to store business data and Document Libraries to store the documents. But for data manupulation and analysis, Microsoft Excel provides very rich features as compared to SharePoint Lists. That's why people still loves to work on Microsoft Excel Sheets.

Custom Editing Behavior for DataGridView TextBox Columns

For various reasons I'm using a DataGridView instead of a ListView, and while configuring the DataGridView to look like a ListView wasn't much of a problem, there's one thing that got on my nerves, which is the behavior of textbox cells in edit mode: It is much too easy to leave the edit mode accidentally, simply by pressing the cursor keys at the wrong time. For example when the text caret is positioned behind the last character of the textbox cell content, and you press the right arrow key

Configuring Profile Image Export in SharePoint 2010

It's no secret that I am thrilled with the new social features of SharePoint 2010. I am most excited about the new Profile Picture handling. I strongly believe that the more we can show the faces of our colleagues to one another the more connected we will feel. Clearly Microsoft feels that way as witnessed by the many features that make use of the Profile Image like the Activity Feed and Colleagues list

Sorting GridView Columns Manually

We all know that GridView columns can be sorted automatically when SQLDataSource is being used. But what if you are not using SqlDataSource to populate the GridView. Sorting the GridView manually is pretty straight forward task take a look at the code below

dynamically adding sql server columns based on number of files in fileuploader

I want to create a new table to sql database at runtime.  The column names would be "Name", "Date", "Event".  I would also like to have one more column name "Image" but the problem is that since the amount of images will vary, I want the application to count the amount of files in the Multiple fileuploader and then add a image column to the table for the respected amount of files.

For example if i am uploading 3 files in the multiple fileuploader, the names should be "Name", "Date", "Event", "Image1", "image2", Image3"

I also would like that table name to be name dynamically from the textbox Name when the user enters the information.

I have the following code to make a new table, but I dont know how to name the fields at runtime like previously asked please help!!!

Dim objConn As New SqlConnection("Server=<servername>;uid=<userid>;pwd=<password>;database=master")

How to let user edit selected gridview columns, not entire row

I've got a gridview I would like to let the user edit a couple of columns.  Seems like everything I'm coming across so far makes the entire row editable.

SQL Server Express2008 R2 brings app down, instance problem

I have tried dozens of changes and modifications to many settings as I will outilne here and all to no avail.

The short answer here though is that I uninstalled SQL Sever Express 2008 R2 and went back to the "NON" 2008 R2 and got things working. But like the fool I am wanted to run on the more current rev and updated again, all problems returned....

Win Server 2003 R2 SP2

VWD2008 Express (removed)

XP Sp3

VWD2008 Express

SQL Server Express 2008

I was orginally getting this message after updating to SQL Sever Express 2008 R2, I removed VWD 2008 Express from the web server, no good, then uninstalled SQL Server 2008 Express R2 and reinstalled SQL Server 2008 Express. worked but had issues, couldn't install MGTM Studio. Then I removed SQL 2008, cleaned folders and reg. Reloaded SQL Server 2008 Express, still flaky, couldn't get the Management Studio to install. So I removed it again and used the Web Platform Installer, which worked but loaded 2008 R2 again. Which brought back the message.
