Sharepoint + SSRS -Report Security??? An unexpected error occurred while connecting to the report s

I am able to deploy reports and run them as the farm admin that I did the Grant entry for in CA > App Mgt > Reporting Services > Grant DB access.

However, my AD personal user that has Local admin on every server has integrated SA security to the SSRS and Sharepoint Database is a Farm admin get's this error trying to run the reoprts.

An unexpected error occurred while connecting to the report server. Verify that the report server is available and configured for SharePoint integrated mode.

Now if I log in as the farm admin ( the user I did the grant on) I can run and add the reports to the SSRS webpart... Am I going to have to add every user through that Grant feature? With integrated Sharepoint security there is no /reports virtual to decide what users can run  what reports so I'm not sure..

Some  other details.. I'm using Kerberos security, and CA > App mgt > Reporting Services > Manage integration mode is set to Trusted (not Windows).. otherwise .. I can't pull up Default settings under that Reporting Services section of CA.

SharePoint 2010 Foundation: An unexpected error has occurred. Correlation ID error

Hi,

Can anyone let me know, what exactly this error is about and how to resolve this.

Thanks in advance!

ASMX ws: An unexpected error occurred on a receive; failing intermittently

Hi,

we I have asmx web service, this seems to be working fine for 25 client machines but one site keeps failing. The client gets a small dataset and tries to send it across to server to process. The dataset saved in XML file only makes 450 - 550kB. The web service is contacted twice in a short time every half an hour. The other smaller dataset (50kB) goes across everytime without any troubles. This site is not trying to send the biggest dataset, other site are sending much bigger datasets without problem. The catch is this failing site keeps retrying for 20 times (10 hours) in average and then eventually goes across. I don't think the service webmethod is erroring out as that is all wrapped up in the try and catch and the exception is not getting thrown, also every other try for the exact same webmethod used by any other client site seems to be working fine.

'An unexpected error has occurred' on upload after changing limit

Hi,

I recently changed the max upload size for attachments to TFS work items on our SharePoint site.  I did this by going to the http://tfsserver1:8080/tfs/ProductCollection/WorkItemTracking/v1.0/ConfigurationSettingsService.asmx?op=SetMaxAttachmentSize URL and entering the new size in bytes.

This worked a treat, but not I cannot upload any documents to another site on the same server.

I can open and save documents that are already there, but when I click the 'Upload' button it gives a white page with 'An unexpected error has occurred.' on it.

Is there something else I have to set when I increase the upload limit for work items?

Regards,
Isobel

Hello Guys,         I am getting following exception while web service (ASMX) is returning the response. <!-- [if gte mso 10]> <mce:style> System.Net.WebException: The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a receive.     <!-- [if gte mso 10]> <mce:style>                                                     InnterException (System.IO.Exception): "Unable to read data from the transport connection: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host."       I think either the Asp.net web server is closing the connection or the response is too long.   Following is my simple code.    1)   namespace JFA.IndiePay.BusinessAccess { public class VerTexProcessor { public DataSet ProcessVerTexForBatch(DataSet dsInputRequest) { DataSet dsResponse = new DataSet(); //Call vertex web service here. VertexService.Service texCalculator = new VertexService.Service(); texCalculator.Timeout = 500000;

Hi All,   i have developed a web application to call WCF service (which is hosted in IIS) from client application using .Net 1.1 it works fine.   but i got an error "The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a receive." when the return object is getting complex.   i analysis the issue with different level of object complexity and i found it get failed for following structure.   eg:   ObjectA - outer object that has some primitive data types and the list of ObjectB ObjectB - this also contain some primitive data and list of ObjectC.   Hope you can understand the hierarchy (complexity) of the return object. This works up to 2nd level of object hierarchy.   Does anyone have idea about the solution for this exception?   Thanks in Advance Shazvi

SharePoint Designer Error - Unexpected error on server associating the workflow

I am creating a multistep workflow with multiple Approval steps.  When I get to step 7 or the 7th Approval step and try to publish it, it states that "Errors were found when compiling the workflow.  The workflow files were saved but cannot be run."  With "Unexpected error on server associating the workflow" in the advanced section.  This same error occurs at other stages of the approvals as well.  If I put another process/action in the step, the workflow runs without any problem.  Thanks for the help! SSRS and Sharepoint Error

Hi After installing SSRS with SP2 and setting up the integrated database and services I am getting the following whenever I try to browse the the report server website using the URL.  Report Server has encountered a SharePoint error. (rsSharePointError)   e ERROR: Throwing Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.AccessDeniedException: The permissions granted to user 'Domain\User' are insufficient for performing this operation., ;  Info: Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.AccessDeniedException: The permissions granted to user 'domain\User' are insufficient for performing this operation.   I have the reporting service and SQL installed on the same server with the server added to the MOSS farm and central admin running on both the database server and a seperate WFE. In an attempt to find out where the insufficient permissions lay the account being used is a local admin on the database server and a SQL admin and is also being used for the windows server identity and web service identity for SSRS. It is my understanding that I do not need to install the add in for MOSS at this point, and I should be able to browse the sites in a list through the SSRS virtual directory I created under the default website. Many thanks

An unexpected error has occurred. (KB973687 -- related?)

Our Sharepoint runs multiple websites and the only one that uses forms based authentication is giving us errors.  When we try to log in we get the following error: An unexpected error has occurred.

All of our other sites run from Windows Authentication and they are all logging in fine.

I saw that KB973687 got installed over the holiday weekend, I was wondering if that had any issues with SharePoint.

Any suggestons?

I have managed to get the Forms Authentication sample to work bu there is a hitch. I am running Report Server and Report Manager on the same(test) PC. I can logon to the Report Server without a problem but when I try logon from the UILogon.aspx page for Report Manager I receive the following error:

An error occurred while attempting to get the ReportServer Url. The RPC server is unavailable. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800706BA)

I can register users which suggests that the page can connect to the database.

"An unexpected error occurred. Please send the log file to product support.

Migrating Access 2007 db to SQL Server 2005. Things go fine until it attempts to connect to SQL Server, then I get this:

"An unexpected error occurred. Please send the log file to product support.
For more information, see "Getting SSMA Assistance" in the product documentation.
Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

I have no idea where this log file is as I'm running this on a Windows 7 machine. A search of the entire C drive yields nothing.

I'm using VIC-WIN7\SQLEXPRESS for the Server Name which is what is used in SQL Server 2005 Management Studio Express.

Thank you very much

Vic

SSRS and "For security reasons DTD is prohibited in this XML document..." error HELP PLEASE!

Hello,

I need some help here. We've had SSRS on our production server up and running for several months, after moving from another server that ran for a few years with no issues. Suddenly, 10 days ago we are getting this error, and I haven't figured out why.

1.     When rendering a report, we receive this message after a few seconds: “For security reasons DTD is prohibited in this XML document. To enable DTD processing set the ProhibitDtd property on XmlReaderSettings to false and pass the settings into XmlReader.Create method.”
