Output an image from SSIS

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 21, 2010    Points: 0   Category :Sql Server

I tried to add a graphics object to a SSIS Script Task, in order to output an image to disk, only to find that none of the normal Graphics (GDI) libraries seem to be available in SSIS 2008? A search on google and these forums show absolutely no hit regarding GDI and SSIS, leading me to think it's not included?

I thought a full .NET environment could be accessed through the script task, but it still seems to be limited to a subset?

Is there any way to output an image through SSIS? I need to fetch large numbers of EAN-13 product codes from a database, and create the appropriate EAN-13 barcode images for them.

Output parameters in OLEDB Command component - SSIS 2008

I have a package that I developed in SSIS 2005 and recently ported to 2008. Everything runs great except an OLE DB Command component that calls a stored procedure that uses output parameters. When I try to run this, I get this error: Error: 0xC0202009 at Data Flow Task, OLE DB Command [100]: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_OLEDBERROR. An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x80004005. An OLE DB record is available. Source: "Microsoft SQL Server Native Client 10.0" Hresult: 0x80004005 Description: "Syntax error, permission violation, or other nonspecific error". Error: 0xC004701A at Data Flow Task, SSIS.Pipeline: component "OLE DB Command" (100) failed the pre-execute phase and returned error code 0xC0202009. When I do the same thing in SSIS2005, it works fine. So I setup a new package with 1 data flow. In that data flow, I added a source component, an OLE DB Command, and a destination.  I then tested this with a stored procedure that took no parameters. It worked fine. I then tested it with a stored procedure with 1 parameter defined as OUTPUT. This generated the error.   Is there an issue with output parameters in an OLE DB Command in SSIS 2008?   Thanks!http://bobp1339.blogspot.com

Execute SQL Tast output into a Variable in SSIS

I´m trying to put the count or the max value of an slq statement in to a variable and I´m not able until now.

I have a global variable named vMax and a OLE DB connection to a DB.

The Quiery works fine and a get a result depending of Count or Max from 15000 for Count and 2000849400 for Max.

I tried all Variable types as int16, int32, double,... nothing works and I get allways the same error mesage.

Error: 0xC001F009 at xyz: The type of the value being assigned to variable "User::vMax" differs from the current variable type. Variables may not change type during execution. Variable types are strict, except for variables of type Object.

I tried now everything and I was not able I have now only this execute SQL Task in my project and it does not work.

My goal is to copy all new records from Table1 in to Table2.

So I create an Execute SQL Tast to get the max ID and to use this for a sql command in the OLE DB Source.

Thank you in advance for any help.

How to call Oracle Stored Procedure which has an output parameter from SSIS?

I will really appreciate if someone can post step by step process to call an Oracle Stored Proc from SSIS. Here is the Stored Proc Spec:

     p_error_code            OUT number,

     p_error_text       OUT            varchar2,

SSIS 2008 and output txt file of specifies structure

Hi All.
I have query to Oracle 11.

I need to iterate it and make txt file (UTF8).
In fact it consist of header + body + footer
body is made of records like:
"Afghanistan","Aland Islands","Albania"
values of in quotes. (in fact it is json file)

1?) Can I do it w/o script
 using Foreach Loop Container
 I don't see how to do
S_all = S_all + ',"' + field1 + '"'
where S_all is SSIS var

2?) If use script in data flow
Could anybody give code example (bettre in VB but C# also ok)
how to iterate recordset and make var like:
S_all = S_all + ',"' + field1 + '"'

Built-in Functions - Text and Image Functions in SQL Server

Text and image functions operate on TEXT, NTEXT and IMAGE data types. These data types are deprecated with SQL Server 2005 and should be replaced by VARCHAR(MAX), NVARCHAR(MAX) and VARBINARY(MAX) when possible. Alternatively you can also consider storing large string values using XML data type. Text and image functions are nondeterministic.

Future versions of SQL Server will not support TEXT, NTEXT and IMAGE data types. Columns with TEXT / NTEXT data type do not support commonly used string functions such as LEN, LEFT, RIGHT, etc. Furthermore, due to the large size of TEXT data you''re likely to see performance issues if you store such data in the database. However, at times you can''t help but use the TEXT / NTEXT / IMAGE data types (for example when supporting 3rd party databases when you cannot change the schema) - this is when text and image functions come in handy.

Program for Format Conversion of An Image

.NET provides extensive support for image conversion. Any image can be processed from one format to another. Most common formats to which .NET have support for are .BMP, .EMF, .GIF, .ICO, .JPG, .PNG, .TIF and .WMF.

Using Conditional Split data Transfer in SSIS 2008

This article uses the Integration Services Conditional Split Data Transformation element to filter and transfer data from a set of flat text files to SQL Server database table. The concept can be easily extended to apply to any other source or destination such as Microsoft Excel. This scenario is useful in creating denormalized database tables in a reporting and analysis situation.

Configuring Profile Image Export in SharePoint 2010

It's no secret that I am thrilled with the new social features of SharePoint 2010. I am most excited about the new Profile Picture handling. I strongly believe that the more we can show the faces of our colleagues to one another the more connected we will feel. Clearly Microsoft feels that way as witnessed by the many features that make use of the Profile Image like the Activity Feed and Colleagues list

Comma-Delimited Output

One of the common tasks performed when retrieving data from a SQL Server database is returning the result as a comma-delimited output instead of a result set. This task can be performed by using a CURSOR selecting the column to be concatenated together. Each row returned by the CURSOR is then concatenated together into a variable separating each one by a comma.

ASP.Net Upload Image to MS Access Database

As you learnt from the previous articles to upload image to the SQL Database in ASP.Net 2.0 and stream that image into the memory to retrieve it from the database and display it on the web page. In this article you will learn how to upload images to the MS Access database in ASP.Net 2.0

First of all create an Access Database and place it in the App_Data folder of ASP.Net web site project. Then create a table "tblImg" with the following fields:

Get pixel format, raw format, property id list and property items image in VB.net - C#.net.

n this simple article you will learn that how we can get pixel format, raw format, property id list and property items image in VB and C#.net.

Get Pixel Format:

Image consists of pixels to get the format of the pixel we have a property named pixel format. This property returns an enumeration of pixel format. This enumeration tells the pixel format.

To demonstrate make a window application. Drag one button and a picture box on form.

Now write the following code on Button click event:
