Sharepoint 2010 Standard Edition Custom List Reporting Using Report Builder 3.0

hi, i'm making this report from a sharepoint list. i want to add some of the fields as the parameters for the report. (e.g : Category, Department)

i tried to run the report, the parameters were shown as expected

but the problem is when i create a query in the dataset.

i'm using caml query builder for the query expression. it goes like this :

SharePoint 2010 Reporting Services report on sharepoint list rsExecutionNotFound

I cannot get SQL Reporting Services 2008 R2 to work with a datasource that is a sharepoint list.  Reporting services seems to work fine setup in SharePoint 2010 Integrated mode. When I try and run a report that is based on a sharepoint list, I immediatly get the following error: The report execution tp15sp4515l3seqqo4do3e45 has expired or cannot be found. (rsExecutionNotFound) This seems to be something I am doing wrong with the sharepoint configuration, I would guess.  I haven't tried a regular database query, but they used to work when reporting services was configured for native mode.  So I assume this is just a problem connecting to sharepoint 2010 lists, with the new SharePoint 2010 List connection type. Edit This has got to have something to do with a permission setting for the app pool account of sharepoint.  I read something once where it said you had to grant it permissions, but every guide I've found since then doesn't mention anything about it. SharePoint 2010 Standard Edition - scalability


Hello SharePoint people!

We are currently considering whether or not to go with SharePoint 2010 Standard or Enterprise Edition.

We are leaning toward standard edition but wanted to confirm whether or not there are any scalability issues associated with this version.

I have found various articles online that make reference to scalability limitations, but nothing concrete. Examples as follows:

"Enterprise Edition -- Similar to standard edition, presumably with more scalability and management functions."

" Standard Edition ... will be artificially throttled around content size."

I have already viewed various version comparisons such as this one without any luck.

Could anyone shed some light on whether there are any scalability limitations imposed on SharePoint 2010 Standard, in comparison to Enterprise?

Report Builder 3.0 unable to access SharePoint Foundation 2010 Report Server


I am having a terrrible time getting this to work. I have configured the SharePoint site and the SQL Servers involved to use Kerberos. That has been confirmed working.

I then configured the SharePoint site's Reporting Services integration (trusted account), enabled anonymous access and enabled report builder. I can launch report builder without any issues at all. The problem comes when I try to save my report. When Report Builder is started Items->New-ReportBuilder Report it opens and display in the lower left hand corner "No current report server." When I close the Wizard dialog and click connect I enter http://server.fqdn.net and I receive the following error:

Connection failed:

Unable to connect to the server that is specified in the URL, 'http://servername.fqdn.net/'.

Make sure that the server is running, the URL is correct, and you have permission to use the server.

I have also tried http://servername.fqdn.net/reportsserver/. When I try that I receive a login prompt. When I enter my credentials it tries for a few seconds and then sends another login prompt. I installed the report server using default settings. The reporting services db is on the same server as sharepoint. The configuration and other databases are on a remote S

I'm trying to create a report using Report builder of a sharepoint 2010 list's custom audit log, is there a way to create a report using report builder 3.0 without directly using sharepoint's Database tables?


SharePoint 2010 Custom List default overriding selection


We are finding that the second list using a field name from the first list that is defaulted does not take the field entry but uses the default when the record is created.  The First list field does take the change and populate the record.  We need the second list to accept the field change in creating a new record.

     I am Ali, I need to retrive the all lists in to Report Builder and need to prepare Report and need to deploy in Sharepoint Library.

1. I Configured Reporting Services in Sharepoint Integrated mode and Credentials are in Windows Integrated Mode not in Trusted acount. 

2. In Report Builder 3.0 Connection Type "Microsoft Sharepoint List"

3. Connection String 'http://<server name>/sites/<site name>' like this, when i test the connectinons getting this error (The current action cannot be completed. The user data source credentials do not meet the requirements to run this report or shared dataset. Either the user data source credentials are not stored in the report server database, or the user data source is configured not to require credentials but the unattended execution account is not specified.)

Please anybody help me to proceed next steps.

Custom Discussion Board List Definition in SharePoint 2010


Hi All,

I have created a custom discussion list definition using Visual Studio 2010 in SharePoint 2010. I had an issue, since by default, Visual Studio creates the custom discussion list definition as custom list. So, I have modified the my own Schema.xml with the standard SharePoint discussion Schema.xml by adding views section.

After deploying successfully, when i looked at the Threaded view, it gives a javascript error. I cannot open "Show Quoted Messages" link.

Could anybody face this problem? Please suggest on how to resolve this issue.

Report viewer webpart in sharepoint 2010 foundation with Reporting server in native mode, possible?



We have a product on sharepoint 2010 whose major feature is with the reporting services, we are checking to see if our product can be deployed in a minimum environment of sharepoint 2010 foundation.
we have a minimal test environment with the following :

windows server 2008 R2
SQL Server Express Advanced
Reporting services configured in Native Mode
Sharepoint 2010 Foundation.

I would like to know if we can enable report viewer webpart on sharepoint foundation 2010 with the reporting services in native mode. our plan is that even if the reporting services are not in sharepoint integrated mode, we are thinking of using web services to get XML data and using the XML data in report builder 3.0 to generate reports? will the idea work in this environment? if so can anyone let us know how to get the report viewer web parts in this environment?

Default Value for 'Person or Group' column in a Sharepoint 2010 Custom List



In Sharepoint 2010 I have a Custom List with a column of the type 'Person or Group'.
I would like to have a default name for this 'Person or group' column.
So when a user creates a new list entry and leves the 'Person or Group' column value blank the list entry should be created with the default value für the 'Person or Group' column.

Is there a way to schieve this?

I would like to know below things

(1) How to create MySite for one specific member with other or administrator's access?

(2) Scenario : Administrator have created one SP2007 site. now Administrator have created one calendar (Sample calendar). Administrator have added some entries in calendar. now one user entered in portal site ansd view the calendar and he click on MySite menu. so this sample calendar entries should enter in that user's mysite calendar. How this can be achieved?
