The function is implemented in the displayform, newform and editform and makes use of the document.getElementsByTagName("!")
to retrieve all matching elements, which is then used to get the control of the column that needs to be hidden.
I then check for the currently logged in user and if the user is not part of the administrative group I hide the column by setting the
display property of the control to 'none'. This works a 100% in the test list.
