SharePoint 2010 External Content Type and InfoPath 2010 - Numeric data type fields missing in InfoPa

Connected SQL data table to SP 2010 ECT from SQL table.  The SQL table has several fields that have a type of "numeric(3,0)".  The SP 2010 list shows all fields form SQL.  When we open up InfoPath Designer and reference the SP List data (from SQL) all of our numer fields are missing from the available fields list.

I amd going to try another data type but that hardly feels like a solution.  If anyone has any ideas please let me know!

3 promoted fields in infopath 2010 not displaying in spd 07

This is driving me nuts.  First I thought it was a refreshing issue.  So i closed SPD and opened it again; i refreshed, restarted the computer, made changes in the form, re-uploaded.  You name it.

I have 3 fields that are not displaying is SPD; they are 2 text fields and an option list with 2 options (yes/no).  I selected file -> info tab -> form options -> property promotions and added them to the column list in InfoPath.  When that didn't work I read on this site to try doing it through the actual publish area.  So i did that instead when you go thru the publish wizard.  Still nothing.

This is an administrator approved form.  Moss 2007 | 1 WFE | SQL 2005 | SPD 2007 | InfoPath 2010

Thanks, as always any help is greatly appreciated,

Using Additional Fields from External Content Type in InfoPath 2010 External Item Picker

Hello, we've created an external content type for our store locations. Each location in the content type has a name, id, manager, region and so on. When we use this BCS content type as a field in a list, we are given the option to "Add a column to show each of these additional fields"

What would the equivalent be in an InfoPath form? When we add an External Item Picker to a form a number of fields are included in the form's data source, including a repeating group called BDCEntity with the following fields:

  • EntityDisplayName
  • EntityInstanceReference
  • EntityId1
  • EntityId2
  • EntityId3
  • EntityId4
  • EntityId5

Entity display name appears to be what we configure as the Display Field Name in the picker properties, and the EntityId1 is the location ID, which is the identifier on the external content type. EntityId2-5 are all blank.

We use region and other location attributes in workflows so how can we access all these other fields?

Thanks for your time.

InfoPath 2010 cannot connect to SharePoint 2010

You have installed Office 2010 beta and you are trying to connect to SharePoint 2010 from InfoPath but you get an error

VS 2010 HTML validation "in CSS" option - where the hell is it?

In VS 2008 there is a very useful feature of background HTML validation - it checks if CSS class name is valid i.e. it exists in one of the linked css files. But VS 2010 Express does not do that any more. And the relevant setting in Options->Text Editor->HTML->Validation->in CSS is not there. Ok, maybe they made it paid for option? VS 2010 Professional? Not there. Or maybe VS 2010 Ultimate? Not a trace.

1. am I blind?

2. they decided it is too convenient to use and removed it?

3. they will "introduce" it in SP1?

What is going on? That one thing made me move back to VS 2008 web developer.

Still i have no idea how to come up with an expression for such purpose. Can someone please explain.

Video: Field and List Item Validation in SharePoint 2010

SharePoint supports the ability to create Excel-like field validation formulas to validate field data in a list, which greatly reduces the amount of custom code that a developer must create and deploy. (Length: 1:44)

How to fix "Validation(): Element 'xxxx' is not supported" Visual Studio 2010

Since about a month ago,I started to get validation warnings at design time on asp.net server controls (any control actually) within the html design view for VS 2010,intellisense on all controls would not work at all,the messages look like this: Validation(): Element 'Label' is not supported. Validation(): Element 'GridView' is not supported ....etc The compilation done successfully but the warnings still exist and intellisense is not working at the source tab I tried to reset the settings of VS 2010 ,disabled all extensions and few other ideas but none of them solved the issue,I got stuck. I did a search over the internet about this issue and found this article on Doug Kennard's blog: http://www.gotknowhow.com/articles/fix-validation-element-not-supported-visual-studio-2010 Splendid, that article is a life savior.

Remove Previously Promoted Fields

I am having trouble removing previously promoted fields from my form library.   Scenario:   InfoPath 2007 SharePoint Server 2007 using Forms Services   I had published my infopath form as a content type and made that content type the default for this form library.  I then promoted several fields when I published the form and I gave them custom names in the publishing wizard.  I then changed the custom names when I published the next version of the form template (because I decided to call them something different).    The problem is that the old promoted field names are still showing in both the content type and the library along with the new names (I now have twice as many columns as I should have).  I was able to delete these extra columns from the content type but they still show up in the library.  When editing settings on the library, these columns are not editable (thier names are not clickable).  I have deleted all form instances from the library (thinking that maybe an old form instance that used the old names caused them to stick around) but that had no effect.    How on earth do I get rid of these columns that were created by field promotion?  I would rather not delete the entire form library because that means recreating my workflows that I have built on the library.

Infopath 2010 Browser Based Form Vs Infopath 2010 Filler Based Form Issue

I have created a detailed infopath form that is connecting to multiple sharepoint lists, some of which contain thousands of rows and dozens of columns.  To tailor for the data load i have enabled the form to only pull in data as needed and on some of the lists i have created 5 or 6 data connections to the same list, each only looking at a certain set of data, and as you make your way through the form selecting your options, the data is pulled in. If i preview this form from within Infopath or if i launch it using Infopath filler this works great, the data is pulled through in under a second.  However if i then publish the form to the browser and launch it through the browser, it now takes roughly 30 seconds to pull in the data. My question is therefore this,  Is there something i can do to speed up the way the data is pulled in when launched through the browser?  are there transport protocols i can alter or something like that? maybe config in central admin or infopath config? any help would be gratefully appreciated as if i can not get the form to pull the data in fast through the browser then the whole project is a waste of time as my management team will never go for the solution if it is slow and will get slower as more data is added. thanks

Using UserName to enable disable access to InfoPath form fields

Hi Everyone, I have created a browser enable form in InfoPath and restrict certain fields depending on the official logged on User Name. Now this works most of the time but my problem has to do with the "case" of User Names for some of the site users. In most cases the User Name is an exact match but for some reason, some user's names are reported by SharePoint (the Welcome at top of screen) with some parts captilized. Example - my hidden filed on the form reports my user name as xrs_master but the Welcome up top says XRS_Master - and the fields act as though I am not the correct user and won't enable. On the other hand there are users who's user name matches the case exactly and all works fine. Why is SharePoint reporting the user name differently? And if this is the reason they don't match, how do I fix it? Any Ideas? Many thanks in advance for help!

InfoPath Forms library in visual studio 2010

If I create a list definition of document library type, and add some new fields to the list.  Is there any way to only allow infopath forms to be submitted to the list?  And also can I change the "add new item" link on the default list to point to my infopath form?

Cannot publish InfoPath 2010 form template to SharePoint Server 2010 RC

Hi all, I am MSFT in Vietnam. I created a SharePoint list using InfoPath 2010 RTM 64bit. After publishing it to SharePoint 2010 RC, I see an error message:  Click on button "Show Details" the message is The list schema does not match the schema of this form. Refresh the data source and publish the form again. When I create new item based on published SharePoint list, I can see plain form not browser enabled InfoPath form. I checked InfoPath Form Services, everything seems to be good. What should I do to publish SharePoint list from InfoPath 2010 to SharePoint 2010 as browser enabled form?
