How to choose default install language? Setup start in english and comes in french on the next wizar

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 21, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

I have downloaded the SharePointServer in english. (I do this in RDP for a Windows 2008 R2- 64bit) via a Windows7 64bit machine

When I launch the package for installation I can see the first screen, which contains the default links, (readin... Pre Requisites, etc..)

but when I launch Sharepoint Installation it come in FRENCH.

Our regional settings are in french but the OS is in english and there is no language pack installed.

How to proceed to get a prompt for a language prompt at Installation?

Unable to install SP3 on SQL 2005 due to Database Services language being blank

Hi all,   I have an issue that requires me to upgrade to a later SP (currently on RTM), but when I try to install SP3 Database Services cannot be ticked. Upon inspection I see that its reporting "This update requires language ENU.  The language for this product instance MSSQLSERVER is . Download the upadte for langage .", when I check teh Language field to the right it is blank, other parts however are fine and can be upgraded. Can you advise please as I don't know how to manually set the language (which is reported inside SQL itself as English (United Kingdom)) and I cannot un/reinstall. Thanks, John

When trying to install SQL 2008 Reporting 'Install the native mode default configuration' is greye

Whilst troubleshooting an earlier issue with SQL 2008 R1 I needed to install SQL without reporting, I then went through the SQL add feature to add Reporting once SQL was working.  The issue I am getting is that the option I need for SCOM R2 'Install the native mode default configuration' is greyed out and the only choice I have is 'Install, but do not configure the report server' which apparently happens when you don't install reporting at the same time as installing the SQL database engine.  In order for SCOM reporting to install I need manually configure SQL reporting to how it is configured when you install in native mode.  Can anyone help with a document on how to configure this manually ? thanks

Where is the default start page specified?

When you create a new website/web application with webforms, I've noticed that the start page is always Default.aspx, but can't find where this is specified (e.g. in the config files, etc), or if it is part of the web forms specification. Is it possible to change the startup page so that it isn't Default.aspx? If so, how do you do it?

Hello, I am not able to install 2008 R2 on my laptop. I have 2005 and 2008 installed previously. It says in one of the attached screenshots that the OLAP service cannot be started. I have attached the errors in screenshots and also my summary log, please advise thank you.

Edit: I am able to manually startup the SQL 2008 R2 service, and can login as "sa" without a password... but strangely I did select mix mode authentication and did supply a password during the installation wizard too..

SQL Server 2008 r2 - Setup support files - Install error / reading from file

I'm installing SQL server 2008 r2 on a Win2003 R2 x86 system.

After i start the setup, the "setup support files" box begins installing, after a while i get this error:

"Error reading from file f:\1033_ENU_LP\x86\setup\sqlsupport_msi\PFiles\SqlServr\100\Setup\ewbfphdh\x86\Patch\rs2000.msp verify that the file exists and that you can access it."

I've tried another DVD, i've tried a mounted share on another machine...no go....i've tried an ISO file mounted on this server... same error.

Is there any way i can install this "setup support files" from another location? (download)

Is there a switch soo it won't install reporting services? (...i think this file rs2000.msp is from reporting services)
