Hello guys, i recently lost 2 very important folders with irreplaceable files when i moved them to a newly formatted partition and ran G Data's file shredder on the folders i had just drag-dropped them from, for some reason after the file shredding, the
folders on the newly formatted partition went from having 11gigs of files to 0kbs i.e GONE, I've tried numerous Data Recovery 3rd party programs (Active@ UNDELETE 7 Enterprise & EASEUS Data Recovery Wizard Pro 4.3.6 ) but the files recovered we're encrypted
badly and then tried system Restore and no luck there neither.
I have been told that if the file system uses a "journal ," the journal can store significant amount of information about a file and that information could be used to rebuild/recover the file or its contents after it has been shredded. so my question
1. Can MS Journal help with the recovery? if yes
2. Is NTFS a journal using file system?
3. If it is, where is the journal?
4. How can i recover these files?
I'm using Windows Xp Pro SP2
Thank you for taking your time to read my post!
Help will be highly appreciated. Thank you!
