Can't redirect to other page after document checked in

Posted By: Posted Date: September 21, 2010 Points: 0 Category :SharePoint

Hi all,

I want to redirect to other page after check in the document in the document library. So I coded in ItemCheckedIn event.

But the problem was raised:

  • When I click the Check In button, system would pop up the message "The file could not be checked in. It may already been checked in by another user." (But it would check in the document later).
  • It couldn't redirect to other page after checking in.

Can anyone help?Thx.

Sharepoint Checked Out Word Document Cross Reference Error on Page number Only

Hi,

I see the same error as RHABALA reported in an earlier thread, after I check out my Word Document from Sharepoint into Word 2010.

When I Control-click on any of my Cross References to Page Number, they fail with the warning prompt, they seem to be incorrectly pointing at the Sharepoint path. But when I Control-click an any Cross References to Paragraph Numbers, they still work. I've added my Sharepoint Site to the trusted list in Internet Explorer, as recommended in that thread, but no difference, the error persists.

Grateful for your assistance.

Thanks

Click on document and Redirect to a custom aspx page.

Hi all

I have created a document library and uploading files in it.

when i click on any document it is opened at client side for example in sharepoint designer.

I want to redirect to a custom aspx page when user clicks on any document rather than opening at client side.

Is it possible?

Redirect to a mobile page

Hi please can anyone help? I have a simple website with a home page called defaut.aspx, also I have a page with in this site called mobile.aspx. My question is, bearing in mind that I posses very little knowledge of VB, what code do I need to place in the default.aspx to detect what kind of device someone is using and redirect them to the mobile page (mobile.aspx)? This needs to be quite up-to-date preferably for blackberry and nokia devices?

Thanks

Detecting PPC device on startup page to redirect?

I was wondering (since a search didn't find any posts) if there is a way for my startup page to detect what kind of device (PocketPC or web browser specifically) is loading the page and if it is a PocketPC, then redirect to the mobile pages? I will only be using PocketPC's exclusively as a mobile device.

Thanks for any suggestions!

"The file is not checked out" on page Postback

Hi there, I have a Publishing site with the Pages library set to "Require documents to be checked out". As an administrator or member of the site, when i minimise/restore webparts on my page, then perform a postback operation (via some webpart on my page) i get an error saying: The file is not checked out. You must first check out this document before making changes. Its as if during the postback after minimising/restoring a webpart SharePoint wants to save that state! How do I stop this from happening? Is there a personalization setting i am missing? P.S. Here is a dummy postback operation if you'd like to test it, just paste it into a CEWP: Test Postback

"This document could not be checked out" error in IE with SP2010 doc library

We created a document library in Sharepoint 2010 and configured it to require checkout. Via Internet Explorer, users click on a document in the library and choose "Check Out and Edit". They get the error message "This document could not be checked out. You may not have permission to check out the document or it is already checked out or locked for editing by another user". We confirm that the document is not checked out to anyone else. The user is able to open the document Read Only from IE and then check it out in the application (for example, they can click the Check Out button in Word 2007 successfully), so the problem seems to be IE related. We have tried adding the Sharepoint site in the Trusted Sites and Local Intranet zones in IE, but it doesn't make a difference.Any suggestions? Thanks.

How to set the variation root redirect page to ALWAYS go to a preset label?

Hi. I have setup variations and I have 4 labels, SE EN FI DK. This is a public website and I want every visitor to first be directed to the predetermined label, for example SE. This no matter what setting they have in their browser... In Sweden, most people have English as the language in the browser since this gets you better content in most places, but in this case, it gets them the EN label instead of the SE label as default. How can I change this in the best way possible? Are there any easily adaptable solutions available? Like on codeplex? The MSDN way is not to my liking, manually customize every front end or compile my own DLL....Noo, there has to be a better way right? (How to: Customize the Variations Label Control Logic http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms551625.aspx) Appreciate any help you can give me on this. Unable to create columns in document library after applying custom master page to site

Hi, I have applied a custom master page to a site. There is a document library in it. I am unable to add columns in it or change the default view.Nothing happens when I click on OK butoon after making my changes. However the columns are created/default view is changed when I apply the default master page. Guess I am missing some TagPrefix or sharepoint control on master page.I had solved this problem earlier in this way but don't remeber it now. Can anyone help?

Notify when document is checked back in.

When someone else checks out a document and I open it up, it gives me 3 options. The 3rd option is notify me. How does that work and how do I configure the server? I know about the "alert me" setting under actions, but it is to vague. I want user to be notified when a specific document is checked in. Thanks.

"This document could not be checked out." SharePoint 2010 checkout action using IE8

I am setting up a two-server farm, and most everything works, except the checkout action for a document. This problem occurs in both site collections, one of which requires checkout, and the other does not. Here are the options I've tried: Snow Leopard, Firefox 3.0.1 - works Snow Leopard, Safari - works Win 2003, IE 7 - works XP, Firefox - works XP, IE 8 - "This document could not be checked out. You may not have permission to check out the document or it is already checked out or locked for editing by another user." In IE8, I am able to open a document as read only then use the button presented by Word to check out the document. I cannot use that as a workaround, as not all users have a version of Office that will allow checkout in that way. Checkin works fine. I need to resolve the checkout error.
