Editor Control fails to load

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 21, 2010    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net

Hi,

I have installed VWD2010

created a new website (Build Target 3.5)

I then made a reference to the AjaxControlToolkit.dll where it created a new Bin folder and added a whole load of folders below plus the dll file apprears.

I've also installed the AJAX tool bar where all the Ajax controls are available.

Then on a new page I added the Editor control which rendered the page as the following

<%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeFile="Default.aspx.cs" Inherits="_Default" %>

<%@ Register assembly="AjaxControlToolkit" namespace="AjaxControlToolkit.HTMLEditor" tagprefix="cc1" %>

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head runat="server">
    <title></title>
</head>
<body>
    <form id="form1" runat="server">
    <div>

        <cc1:Editor ID="Editor1" runat="server" />

    </div>
    </form>
</body>
</html>

Dynamically load user control without postback

Hi all,

I need urgent help. (c#coding)

In my base page, I have a dropdownlist control which loads different usercontrols on selectedindexchanged event.

While loading these usercontrols, my page postbacks all the page. I used updatepanel but again same problem.

Is there any way to load controls without postback? I Really need help as soon as possible.

Here is my code:

protected void Page_Init(object sender, EventArgs e)
    {
        if (Session["control"] != null)
        {
            string c = Session["control"].ToString();
            if (c == "1")
            {
                iuc = (IlkogretimUC)LoadControl("~/Controls/Ilkogretim.ascx");
                dl.SelectedValue = Session["control"].ToString();
                ph.Controls.Add(iuc);
                //UpdatePanel2.ContentTemplateContainer.Controls.Add(iuc);
            }
            else if (c == "2")
            {
                luc = (LiseUC)LoadControl("~/Controls/LiseUC.ascx");
                dl.SelectedValue = Session["control"].ToString();
                ph.Controls.Add(luc);
            }
            else if (c == "3")
            {
                youc = (YuksekokulUC)LoadControl("~/Controls/Yuksekokul.ascx");
                dl.S

Character counter with Editor control?

Has anyone made this work?  I'm trying to implement a character counter that counts the total text and markup in the Content property of the Editor.  It's easy to do with a button control and feeding Editor.Content.Length to a label but that doesn't give the user a running count.

I tried several javascript character counters, including this one:

<script type="text/javascript">

      function pageLoad() {
      }

      maxL = 255;
      var bName = navigator.appName;
      function taLimit(taObj) {
          if (taObj.value.length == maxL) return false;
          return true;
      }

      function taCount(taObj, Cnt) {
          objCnt = createObject(Cnt);
          objVal = taObj.value;
          if (objVal.length > maxL) objVal = objVal.substring(0, maxL);
          if (objCnt) {
              if (bName == "Netscape") {
                  objCnt.textContent = maxL - objVal.length;
              }
              else { objCnt.innerText = maxL - objVal.length; }
          }
          return true;
      }
      function createObject(objId) {
          if (document.getElementById) return document.getElementById(objId);
          else if (document.layers) return eval("document." + objId);
          else if (document.all) return eval("document.all." + objId

SendInput fails to control mouse in x64

I am currently working on a project in which I'm trying to make a program which can input mouse movements to click and drag objects. I've imported user32.dll and created my inputs exactly as the help info and pinvoke.net instruct so as to be able to send mouse inputs. Nevertheless, whenever I implement the SendInput function, it always returns that it successfully inserted 0 events into the keyboard and mouse input stream and when I run GetLastError, it gives me error 1400 INVALID_WINDOW_HANDLE. I've tried the same code on two different systems, both running in x64. One is XP and the other is Windows 7. Neither works. If you're interested in the code, it's basically a 64-bit version of Johnny Chung Lee's Wiimote Whiteboard program. I've made a few modifications, but the main gruntwork of the program is the same as his original. His stuff can be found here: http://johnnylee.net/projects/wii/

Hosted Designer fails to load workflow xaml that has InArguments with default values (xaml saved by

I have hosted the designer in our app. Using the hosted designer, workflows are saved as xaml to a database. When an end user wishes to edit a workflow the xaml is downloaded to a file and loaded into the designer via the .xaml file. The user can also associate assemblies with the workflow and there is a mechanism which makes sure that these assemblies are loaded into the appdomain and available. The problem we are hitting occurs when the top level activity (Sequence) has InArgument with default value. I create a simple Sequence, add InArguments (type of Int32 and String)  and set some default values. I save the workflow xaml to the database and close down the designer. When I wish to edit the workflow and try to load I get the following errors Could not find member '{clr-namespace:}_e905.argument3'. Could not find member '{clr-namespace:}_e905.argument1'. suggesting that some assembly/namespace missing. Here is the xaml I try to load: <Activity mc:Ignorable="sap" x:Class="{x:Null}" this:_e905.argument3="99" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/netfx/2009/xaml/activities" xmlns:mc="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/markup-compatibility/2006" xmlns:mva="clr-namespace:Microsoft.VisualBasic.Activities;assembly=System.Activities" xmlns:s="clr-namespace:System;assembly=mscorl

loadviestate of control created on the load() event

Why if I create a label on the load() event its properties are restored after a postback, even though it doesn't pass through the loadviestate stage? Example:Partial Class Default2 Inherits System.Web.UI.Page Protected Overrides Sub LoadViewState(ByVal savedState As Object) MyBase.LoadViewState(savedState) End Sub Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load Dim lb As New Label Me.Controls.Add(lb) If Not Page.IsPostBack Then lb.Text = "xxxx" End If End Sub End Class <%@ Page Language="VB" AutoEventWireup="false" CodeFile="Default2.aspx.vb" Inherits="Default2" %> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head runat="server"> <title>title</title> </head> <body> <form id="form1" runat="server"> <asp:Button ID="Button1" runat="server" Text="Button" /> </form> </body> </html>   And why everybody advice to create controls in the overrides of the method LoadViewState(), if it's ok also in the load() event

Load byte[] into a ListView like in a hex editor (each byte should be an item)

Hi, I am writing some sort of Hex Editor in C# .NET 3.5 WPF. My input is a binary file, which can be very large (at least 10MB). I want to benfit from WPF's UI virtualization. For that I've tried using the DataGrid or the ListView. However, those 2 have a concept of each row being an item, and the hex dump means each cell is an item. Trying to copy the byte[] to a DataTable or a new class that implements IEnumerable takes too much memory and hangs the application. Also creating many strings / TextBoxes will be very expensive. Example of an input: 37 AA B1 00 01 05 03 33 45 66 23 45 67 43 32 12 47 5A 61 70 01 05 83 99 45 45 23 25 67 43 32 12 56 34 45 67 I would like to show like this: 37 AA B1 00 01 05 03 33 45 66 23 45 67 43 32 12 47 5A 61 70 01 05 83 99 45 45 23 25 67 43 32 12 56 34 45 67 I've encountered the wrap panel (which might suit as well with Horizontal orientation) but wrap panel has no virtualization. I'm fairly new to WPF, but I've read a lot for 2 weeks in all the web... and tried a lot!!! But still, I can't seem to find a good solution to my problem. Please help :( Thanks in advance, Michal.

Unable to load client print control

When you display a SQL Reporting Services report to the screen in the header there is a Printer Icon displayed.  When we click this icon we get an error message "Unable to load client print control ". Does anyone know what we need to load or what we need to do to resolve this so that we can print the report directly to teh printer, rather than having ot prinnt the web page, which also prints all the Web headre information

Unhandled exception in XAML editor from control that accesses database. - "System.Data.SqlServerCe.S

Hello,

Im having a bit of difficulty with some WPF/C#/SQL Server CE code.

I have a WPF User Control with the following line of code in the constructor:

MyDatabase database = new
 MyDatabase("Data Source=|DataDirectory|\\MyDatabase.sdf"
 );

where MyDatabase is a class generated using SQLMetal.exe from MyDatabase.sdf.

When I added this control to other controls, the application runs fine and I'm able to access my database. When I try to edit these parent controls,  the XAML editor throws the following error:

>System.Data.SqlServerCe.SqlCeException
>The database file cannot be found. Check the path to the database. [ Data Source = D:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\Common7\IDE\MyDatabase.sdf ]

Why does the XAML editor redirect my DataDirectory to "D:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\Common7\IDE\" and why does the XAML editor execute my database access code?

How can I fix this so I can use this control in a XAML editor?

Thanks,

Greg S.

Load control template file /_controltemplates/TaxonomyPicker.ascx failed

What is problem
Load control template file /_controltemplates/TaxonomyPicker.ascx failed: Could not load type 'Microsoft.SharePoint.Portal.WebControls.TaxonomyPicker' from assembly 'Microsoft.SharePoint.Portal, Version=14.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c'.

Problem with property editor of a web user control

Hi,

I created an asp.net user control with a property named 'TabList' , the property is visible when I place my control on a page, the default editor for this property was a simple text box, but I needed a DropDownList for editing the TabList property of my control, so I added following code to implement it:

<Category("Navigation Bar"), Editor(GetType(DropDownList), GetType(System.Drawing.Design.UITypeEditor)), Description("List of Tabs"), DefaultValue("SHISHIR WAHI")> Public Property TabList() As String
        Get
            Return _tablist
        End Get

        Set(ByVal value As String)
            _tablist = value
        End Set
    End Property

The Category() and DefaultValue() are working fine but Editor() and Description() are not, what could be the problem?

Please help.

On Change:Prevent Evaluation fails with error Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.SqlServer.

Hi All,

I am facing a strange issue with Policy Based Management. Exact problem is as below

SQL Setups

************

I have Lenovo laptop having 3 SQL instances installed on it.

SQL Server 2005 (x86) Developer Edition 9.00.4053  -- Named Instance : SQL2K5

SQL Server 2008 (x86) Developer Edition 10.0.1600.22 -- Named Instance : SQL2K8

SQL Server 2008 R2 (x86) Developer Edition 10.50.1600.1 -- Named Instance : SQL2K8R2

I configured SQL2K8R2 instance as a Centralized Server and registed SQL2K8 & SQL2K5 under this. I configured a new condition by using facet: MULTIPART NAME. As per this condition Table Should start with TEST_ in database TEST . Evaluation Mode set to              On Change: Prevent. Idea is if some one logs to database TEST and tries to create table with name other then starting with TEST_ then it should fail.

I Imported this policy on registered servers thru Centralized Management Server Action, as expected policy got configured on Registred SQL2K8 instance

Load control template file /_controltemplates/TaxonomyPicker.ascx failed

Hi,

Recently, we try to migrate WSS2007 solution to  SF Server 2010. And I job is to check if all the WSS 2007 solutions can work on SF Server 2010. Unfortunately, there is one weird error came out when I did a tag mapping with Microsoft.SharePoint.WebControls.PeopleEditor with my own custom people edit, it throws me this error.

Load control template file /_controltemplates/TaxonomyPicker.ascx failed: Could not load type 'Microsoft.SharePoint.Portal.WebControls.TaxonomyPicker' from assembly 'Microsoft.SharePoint.Portal, Version=14.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c'.

This never occurs in WSS2007 or SF 2010, BUT it DOES occur in SF Server 2010 RTM. I reflect the Microsoft.Sharepoint.Portal.dll, and I cannot find any TaxonomyPick class at all. And I searched this solution all over the world and none of the solution(these solution inclues replace "&#44"
with ";" or change TaxonomyPicker.ascx to TaxonomyPicker.ascxbackup) is working.

Apparently, this TaxonomyPicker is obsolete in RTM. I dont know why it is still in RTM folder and it seems this causes some problems.

Please help!

Thank you.
