Using the Inventory Tracking Template - how to edit the "log a sale" form

We are using the Inventory Tracking Template.  Although its a good form as is there are a few modifications that would make it even better.

When you use the "Log a sale" feature - the new form pops up with the title "Transactions: New Item"   - every item has an associated Category.   We have many items and need a way to filter them so the user doesn't have to scroll through so many items.  I thought using the category field would be best.   In a perfect world the user selects the category in the form and then the form only shows the items in that category that are available.  How do i acomplish this?

missing edit template in Form Library Advanced Settings



I just noticed that the ability to edit an infopath (published) form from the advanced settings within the form library is missing.  I looked at several other form libraries and noticed the same problem.  I am the site collection admin, and my rights have not changed.   How would the link to edit a pubished form dissapear from the advanced settings page?



jquery datepicker not popping up in Gridview Edit Template textbox


I have a gridview that I can't for the life of me get the datepicker calender to pop up for.  I've been using the datepicker for months very successfully for a variety of textboxes on the page and inside of formviews but this is the first time I've tried using with gridview.  I didn't expect any issues however can't seem to find anything to work.  I have searched the forums for 2 days and attempted any suggestions found within the solutions to no avail.  I've tried using the CSS to link the datepicker but everything stopped working when I changed the code and my page which uses a css style already got all distorted looking.  Please help!

Here is my gridview (only included a part b/c it is large and am only having problem with the datepicker for the date completed text box)

Can you hide the "Form Template Conflict" message?


We have 100s of Infopath 2003 forms published on our Sharepoint site (MOSS 2007).  These forms are updated constantly.  The problem we have is that anytime we change the form's design (ex. change wording on the form), the user will get the "Form Template Conflict" message when they click on the form.  This is very confusing to them, and although we've asked them to click on "Replace form", they still get confused.

This message is very confusing to anyone, not just a user.  We would like to suppress this message so that every single time we update a form, they don't have to see this.  I'm not sure why it even saves a copy locally on their machines, anyway.  The fact is that in 100% of all cases, they will need to replace the form on their computer.  Renaming the forms every time we edit them is not an option - there are too many and links would all be broken. 

Can anyone tell us how to "hide" or "suppress" this error for our users?  Or design a form on the back-end that won't show this?  Could possibly changing security settings prevent this?  Any suggestions would be appreciated on how to prevent this message from popping every time we update a form.

Certification Tracking Template

Looking for a SharePoint template for professional certification tracking that can track original/annual cretification requirements, continuing education courses, dues payments, etc. Does not need to be a full-blow learning management system (LMS) and need not contain learning content or delivery of content, just tracking induvidual learning credits and certifications.

listview 3.5 bind dropdownlists edit item template VB.NET


I am trying to do this with many issues of data binding doubling the amount and not setting selectedValue on dropdownlist. I have read some posts and they help but I am missing a crucial piece. My problem is that my dropdownlist is doubling the amount of records for the dropdownlist. Instead of "YES;NO;SELECT A VALUE", I am getting "YES;NO;SELECT A VALUE;YES;NO;YES;NO". My database is correct with the UPDATE part but the rebind after update is failing horribly.

create new custom list form in sharepoint designer and edit in browser

hi, i have created a new list using sharepoint designer 2007. now i inserted a custom list form to modify some field and add new ones. when i finished i will tight my new custom list to the custom form. what i want to know is. i see the status field in my new form. and i only want the status field to appear in the edit form for the one that has the permission to edit the status. then i tought of open the list in my browser and go to the list settings. but what i notice is i dont see my fields i have modified in sharepiont designer in the columns section i only see the ones from the existing list. my question is how can i hide the status field in the new item form that it only show in the edit form. and how do i get my new form in the column section so the end user can add more fields if they want without using sharepointdesigner thnx

simple form for single record edit

I've been asked to create a web form to edit a couple of fields in one record in an Access database. The database is on the same server as the website. This is part of a simple CMS that someone developed a long time ago in traditional ASP with VB. I don't know VB well and am trying to get something working by adapting the existing code used in the CMS. I can get the form to display the current values in the record (there are only two fields that need to be edited), but I can't get the form to successfully update the record when the user clicks the submit button. I'm sure the solution  is simple but I've googled up down and sideways and can't seem to get this to work. If anybody with a little patience has a minute to look at this and offer a solution, I'd be grateful. Unable to Show Edit item Links in Data Form Web Part

I have a DFWP connected to custom list and the boxes to Show Edit Item Links, Show Delete item links and Show Insert Item links are grayed out so that they can not be checked. This works fine when I use a DFWP connected to a standard list (i.e., Contacts). Is there something special that needs to be done to activate this functionality?ThanksDean

Updating an InfoPath Form Library Template breaks preexisting SharePoint List Views

When updating an InfoPath template (e.g. adding a new field), any views I have created on the library lose their filters and sorting, as if the columns on which they were built no longer exist.  Has anyone else encountered this and, if so, is there a solution? V/r Noelle

namespace of fields problem when creating form template from xml?

I created a form template from a predefined xml, where I do not have any namespace. Later I added more fields. The output xml of the form is for the fields from the xml they have not prefix, for those added later, they have prefix my. I already have them all done. How can I make them consistent to have prefix my? Is there any options in InfoPath to turn on or off the prefix my?   thanks,

Insert and Edit Pages with Web User Control Template for another table

Hi, I have an Address template(web user control) which holds the fields of the Address table.  The Address template is embedded in the School Insert Page.  I want to insert a new school together with its address(which means I have to insert a record into the address table).  Can you let me know how I can pass the newly generated addressId to update school table?  Also, how can I associate the Address.cs in the App_Code with the Address template?  I want it to be able to scaffold columns which needs to be hidden from user in the address table.  When I click on Insert School, the Address template shows in "insert" mode, I just need to link the two together. Permissions to edit a Infopath form

Hi, I have a requirement where a group of users should be able to edit the Infopath form and submit that into the FormsLibrary. But at the same time they should not be able to edit the properties of the Item. If i remove contribute permissions they are not able to Edit the Properties but at the same time they are not able to edit the infopath form. Please let me know the approach how to go about. Cannot publish InfoPath 2010 form template to SharePoint Server 2010 RC

Hi all, I am MSFT in Vietnam. I created a SharePoint list using InfoPath 2010 RTM 64bit. After publishing it to SharePoint 2010 RC, I see an error message:  Click on button "Show Details" the message is The list schema does not match the schema of this form. Refresh the data source and publish the form again. When I create new item based on published SharePoint list, I can see plain form not browser enabled InfoPath form. I checked InfoPath Form Services, everything seems to be good. What should I do to publish SharePoint list from InfoPath 2010 to SharePoint 2010 as browser enabled form?

Custom Edit form - close modal dialog and navigate to page

Hi, I created one custom edit form for my document library, replaced default save and cancel buttons with input buttons and added the form action to them. Then I set my page as default edit form. When I click edit button, my custom form opens in modal pop up. When I try to save the item by clicking new save button, item gets saved but pop remains as it is. Now, I want the modal pop up to get closed and navigate to page other than the parent page with some parameters after I click save button. How can I achieve this? Thanks!!

Expense Reimbursement Approval template cant open infopath form

hi, i just created a site using the template Expense Reimbursement Approval. but when i click on the Expense link and click new it try to open infopath form but it gives me this error: The form template was created with a newer version of InfoPath. This form template was created by InfoPath version 12.0.0. do i have to use infopath 2007 to open this form? thnx

Form Template Conflict - Same Form ID When Copying Template

Hi,I have an InfoPath Form that I have uploaded successfully to SharePoint using the Form Services.I now want to make a copy of my InfoPath Form Template so I can create a similar Template (just want to make a few adjustments) then upload that one, so will have two that serve similar but different purposes.The problem is that if I just make a copy (copy and paste) the Template on my computer, I can't open it without getting the following message:   Form Template Conflict The form template you are opening has the same ID as a template already on your computer.   Then it goes on to say I can either keep my existing one, or replace it with this one????????   All I want to do is make a copy so I don't have to design essentially the same Form.   Somehow I need to  create a new template (from the existing one) but have a different Form ID.   Can anyone please help with this (should be simple) issue.   Kind Regards,   Grant.
