I want my survey responses to be truly anonymous

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 20, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint
We have a survey set up that has Read Access=Only their own; Edit Access, Only their own  HOWEVER when we login as a generic test user and select an RSS feed or Export to Spreadsheet, all entries can be viewed.  Which setting do we have wrong?  Any input is greatly appreciated!!

Can I customize survey page to allow anonymous reply?

As title, can I allow anonymous reply for survey page? e.g. Use Service A/C or Guest A/C.

Is it possible if I want to add a "Anonymous finish" button as http://lh5.ggpht.com/_uc-Dl5bSnZE/Sx86EiX3QiI/AAAAAAAAADc/tZ8bNWjTTg0/s912/3.jpg ?

Then user can click "Finish" or "Anonymous finish" to submit survey.

Could you please advise me is it possible or not? If yes, how can I add a "Anonymous finish" button?

Handling Over 2,000 Responses to a Survey

Hi, I know that for most lists and libraries in SharePoint 2007 MS recommends against having 2,000+ items at the root level.  But how does this affect OOTB Survey Web Parts?  We'd like to use the survey web part for a large survey that could generate over 2,000 responses.  If we reach 2,000, or 3,000, or 4,000 responses, will end users find the survey noticeably slower to respond (possibly exiting without finishing)?

What about the results?  For those that have access to see the graphical summary of responses or all responses for 2,000 plus results, what kind of performance loss would be seen?  Any issue with exporting that many results to Excel?  I know Excel can handle that many rows, but just curious about the web part's export process.

Tuples, Anonymous Types, and Concrete Types

Tuples can save you a great deal of repetitive tasks. They can also lead to completely unreadable code in a language like C#. Tuples are data values that contain N items. The .NET framework supports tuples containing 1 to 8 members. To use tuples with more than 8 members, you use another tuple for the member of an octtuple

C# 2.0: Create Elegant Code with Anonymous Methods, Iterators, and Partial Classes

C# 2.0 introduces a wealth of exiting new features, such as generics, iterators, partial classes and anonymous methods. While generics are the most talked-about feature especially for former classic C++ developers, the rest of the new features are important additions to your .NET development arsenal, enhancing power and improving overall productivity. This article is dedicated to all the new C# 2.0 capabilities besides generics to give you a good overall picture of the upcoming features.

Progress Bar with Survey

I got the below lireature from http://doc.essentialobjects.com/library/1/eo.web.progressbar.aspx. The only thing I have found this good for is if there is a task or process that you want to show the user the status of how much is completed. In my case I just want to show the user how far along they are in a survey. I am having trouble understanding this so that I can write client side JavaScript API to get this to work and do  what I need to do, which is increase the progress meter and show how far along in the survey the user is. It says to use ProgressBar.setValue(value), but I dont know where to place it in my application, nor what value to pass, to where?  Any help with this is greatly appreciated.

ProgressBar Class

A ProgressBar is a graphical component that provides information about the status of a given task.

Anonymous Web Site receives "The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized"

I set up a test website on my local box and was able to access sharepoint search using the querySearch web service from SP.  After I got it all working properly I transferred the code to the target website that is set up with anonymous access for all people on the fab floor.  However from this website I keep getting the 401 error.  It can't be SP because the same code worked from my local website "localhost".  Any suggestions?  we don't want to have to have the fab people log in so we can't not have the box anonymous.  I would appreciate any suggestions very much!!!

With Anonymous access disabled, is there any way to use an AJAX-enabled WCF Service?

I have a website where anonymous access is disabled but I want to user an ajax-enabled WCF service. Configuring the service's binding security to use "TransportCredentialOnly" with clientCredentialType="Windows" seems like the obvious thing to do; indeed, many posts in various places suggest this approach. Unfortunately, however, it doesn't work. I always get the error "Security settings for this service require 'Anonymous' Authentication but it is not enabled for the IIS application that hosts this service." How can I configure the service to function correctly. I'm running IIS 7.5 with .Net framework 4.0. Thanks.

Losing responses from the device- UdpClient

Hi all,    In my application i am using UdpClient class for communication between the PC and the device. There are 3 tabs, on click of each tab a WindowsFormsControlLibrary (a dll) is opened an on click of any button in these tabs a request to the device is sent via udp socket and the device sends the response for the corresponding request. On receiving any response from the device the respective slot is called by the use of events and delegates.  A thread is created to notify the respective slots in the different tabs  when some response is received. For every 1 second the device sends a response to indicate that the device is active. These responses are displayed in the datagridview in one of the tab. The problem is some responses are lost and because of which the order of responses is not correct. The code is as shown below: </> public void dataReceived()                                 {                                                 IPEndPoint remoteIp

How to add List item in search results for anonymous in a publishing site?

Hi all,   For now, results in Library (document set or not) are shown and the link is the binary file. This is ok. But for list, anonymous users can't view results. As logged in I see the items in the AllItems.aspx page. How could I allow this result to be viewed by anonymous users too?      Thank you,   Benoit Pironet
