How do I replace gray Video icon with first frame of video?

I have created a Media Web Part that plays a video.  When the page is displayed, SP2010 puts a large funky gray image with an old fashioned film reel and an arrow, instead of showing the first frame of the video.  It is so ugly, it makes me want to take the video down.

I want to show the first frame of the video on the page with an play arrow, as most video software does.

Document Icons replaced with blank.gif- generic doc icon

I am set up as site collection admin on an instance of MOSS 2007, and when I link an uploaded file on a page and click "show icon" it displays the proper icon.

However, when a user with standard permissions attempts the same action, even with the same document; the document icon shows up as generic doc icon (dog eared paper).

Is there a permission issue that I need to look into server side? Or is there another solution?

Forgive me if this is a repeat, but I didn't see anything that dealt with one permission level displaying icons differently than another.

Can't get an Icon to show for Desktop shortcut and Program Menu

I've created a SetupWizard, but can't get it to show the Icon for the shortcut on desktop and program menu. The installation goes fine without any errors, the only problem is the icon.

I've made a shortcut of my exe file in the Application Folder and dragged the shortcut to the Desktop folder, then on the shortcut properties, I assigned it an icon picture located in Application Folder.

Any suggestions will be very much appreciated.

Windows 2000 UI Innovations: Enhance Your User's Experience with New Infotip and Icon Overlay Shell

Windows 2000 includes some helpful new UI features you can customize and implement in your own applications. In this article you'll see how to provide infotips for files, after making the appropriate registry entries. Then create a custom column handler extension, resulting in a new column for the Explorer's Details view. In order to further extend the shell, additional UI goodies will also be examined and implemented including: search handlers, cleanup handlers, folder customizations using property sheet handlers and icon overlays, and context menu shell extensions. All the code samples are rolled up into a handy package which we've named, by tradition, ShellToys.

display an icon in gridview - selectively

I've created an ExpenseReport application which allows users to attach receipts to Expense Report Lineitems. These are contained in a gridview using a template field:

<asp:TemplateField HeaderText="File" InsertVisible="False">
                    <asp:TextBox ID="TextBox1" runat="server"></asp:TextBox>
                <asp:HyperLink ID="HyperLink" ImageUrl='<%# Eval("filename", "~/workflow/Images/attachment.jpg") %>'
                runat="server" NavigateUrl='<%# Eval("filename", "http://workflowserver/AtWork/workflow/ExpenseReport/retrieveattachment.aspx?attachment={0}") %>' Text="" />

The trouble I have is that the 'attachment.jpg' icon shows for every lineitem (even one that does not contain an attachment).

I would like to be able to selectively display this icon or show a different icon if there is NO attachment.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm kind of stuck... ;-)

Thank You.

Where is Format Document icon to add to toolbar in VS2010

For years now, I always added the "Format Document" icon to my HTML Editing toolbar.  It always was difficult to find this in VS2008 and VS2005.  It seem it has been completely eliminated in VS2010.

Does anyone have any idea where is might be in the Customize toolbar myriad of commands?

I realize it is available under the Edit drop down menu as well as keyboard command Ctrl K, Ctrl D.  But is is just so much more helpful to put it on the toolbar.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Set Site Icon in Site Definition

Hi,I am trying to set the default Site Icon in my custom site definition.I have changed the titlegraphic.gif in my master page to a new name but that didn't work.In the site definition I have also set the SiteLogoUrl to an image, but that didn't work either.Some people suggest that you should replace the default titlegraphic.gif file with your own image and give it the same name, but I don't see how this could be any good since an update to the sharepoint installation might just overwrite the image again with the default one.Any help would be appreciated!Thanks

Display image icon in HyperLinkField of Gridview

 Hello everyone! Can someone please tell me how to display an image in a HyperLinkField of a gridview?  Instead of words, I just want to show a simple little icon that can be clicked on and pass a query string to the next page.  The first hyperlink field I have set up works perfectly and passes the querystring to the next page.   The second hyperlinkfield is my attempt at showing the image but it's giving me a squiggly and telling me "the element img cannot be nested within the element hyperlinkfield" I got this technique from this brief article   - I would like to accomplish exactly what it says it is suppose to do. Thanks!   <asp:GridView ID="GridView1" runat="server" AutoGenerateColumns="False" DataKeyNames="clientID"> <Columns> <asp:BoundField DataField="clientFirstName" HeaderText="First Name" /> <asp:BoundField DataField="clientLastName" HeaderText="Last Name" /> <asp:HyperLinkField HeaderText="More Info" Text="View more info..." Treeview - how to change node icon depending on node contents

I have a treeview in an MVVM application: <TreeView ItemsSource="{Binding RootNodes}"> <TreeView.ItemContainerStyle> <Style TargetType="{x:Type TreeViewItem}"> <Setter Property="IsExpanded" Value="{Binding IsExpanded, Mode=TwoWay}" /> <Setter Property="IsSelected" Value="{Binding IsSelected, Mode=TwoWay}" /> <Setter Property="FontWeight" Value="Normal" /> <Style.Triggers> <Trigger Property="IsSelected" Value="True"> <Setter Property="FontWeight" Value="Bold" /> </Trigger> </Style.Triggers> </Style> </TreeView.ItemContainerStyle> <TreeView.ItemTemplate> <HierarchicalDataTemplate ItemsSource="{Binding Children}"> <TextBlock Text="{Binding NodeName}" /> </HierarchicalDataTemplate> </TreeView.ItemTemplate> </TreeView> The treeview is bound to an ObservableCollection called RootNodes. Elements in the RootNodes collection expose a member "NodeName" which is the text for the nodes in the treeview at runtime. They also expose a member called "NodeType", effectively an enumeration that indicates what type of icon should be displa

Up Down GridView Icon Image for Column Sorting

I'm trying to add an Ascending and Descending sort direction Icon Image next to the header text of my ASP.NET 2.0 Gridview Columns.I've searched and found some examples that seem to do this but have had difficult time recoding them from C# to VB or some just seemed overly complex for what I want to do.Does anyone have a simple VB solution for sort icons?Thanks,Ethan

Type icon doesn't work on SP 2010

Hi guys, as reported in other threads, Type icon in SP 2010 document library doesn't work. I mean that in MOSS 2007 doc library the Type column displays the icon of the document linked to the document itself, so that you can click on it to open the document. Otherwise, in MOSS 2010, the icon doesn't contain any link at all. This is true only for documents, while it works for folders. This behaviour is in MOSS 2010 RTM. Does anyone know any info about this problem? Thank you in advance.
