SSRS 2008 R2 Reporting Samples, why don't they work?

Hi I have Win7 64bit ... SQL Server 2008 R2. From codeplex I’ve downloaded the latest Adventure Works sample dbs … http://msftdbprodsamples.codeplex.com/releases/view/45907 Then I wanted to see the latest Reporting Samples … http://msftrsprodsamples.codeplex.com/wikipage?title=SS2008R2!AdventureWorks2008R2%20Report%20Samples&referringTitle=Home But here is the problem, these reports don’t work with the latest AdventureWorks dbs ... cause … the database AdventureWorks2008R2 does not exist in the dbs samples and all the datasets in the reports go in one way or the other to this particular database and some specific fields in it!! I have a simple installation on my laptop ... default default default ... everything else works great. Dbs I created, reports I create and so on … but I would like to get some inspiration and hints about more advanced reports from the codeplex sample reports of course. So … has anyone fixed this? Kind Regards jea

MS Linq To SQL Samples - Insert/Update/Delete

Hi, I'm stumbling along trying my hand at Linq to SQL and have come across this code below that was provided by MS.http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/vbasic/bb737928.aspxThe problem is there is no ".add" method for Categories to chose in the statement db2.Categories.add(newCategory)I've seen similar videos here on ASP .NET that uses code very much like the example below, but I am unable to run this example connected to a Northwind SQL database using Web Developer 2010 Express. This is the One-to-Many example listed under Linq To SQL Samples - Insert/Update/Delete. Thanks for any help! Shawn Dim db2 = New DataClassesDataContext Dim ds = New DataLoadOptions() ds.LoadWith(Of Category)(Function(p) p.Products) db2.LoadOptions = ds Dim newCategory = New Category With {.CategoryName = "Widgets", _ .Description = "Widgets are the customer-facing analogues " & _ "to sprockets and cogs.", _ .Picture = Nothing} Dim newProduct = New Product With {.ProductName = "Blue Widget", _ .UnitPrice = 34.56#, _ .Category = newCategory, _

VS 2010 - MsChart Area - DataBindCrossTable

I'm new to .NET MVC and I'm trying to use the MsChart Control.

I can display a chart easily by dragging the chart control in an ASPX view, set up a Datasource and choose the X and Y values for my series.

But, for my application, I need more than one series. After looking around, it looks like the DataBindCrossTable is the solution.

In Alex's blog (http://blogs.msdn.com/b/alexgor/archive/2009/02/21/data-binding-ms-chart-control.aspx), the code is:

chart1.DataBindCrossTab(myReader, "Name", "Year", "Sales", "Label=Commissions");

Elsewhere I've seen something like:

Where to find code samples for Microsoft® SQL Server® 2008 Analysis Services Step by Step

I got this book  Microsoft® SQL Server® 2008 Analysis Services Step by Step by Scott Cameron, Hitachi Consulting from our tech Library , however the companion CD is missing. Can anybody share the CD / practice code examples with me please? The book is only useful if I get to practice the code alongside reading the theory!

Series Color in MSCHART

Hello I have a Chart with diferente series when I added those series to my Chart the have diferente colors by default but my legend dont reconize these colors in the series and when I put the color to my serie manual then my legend reconized the colors.

The problem is that I have many series and a lot of time I dont know how many series are. I need somenthing for put diferent color to my series or something to fix it and the legend reconize the automatic color.

Series Name is different for all my new series.

//Add serie

//{If I tried something like this :newChart.Series[SeriesName].Color = Color.Green; All my series are green and my legend reconize those color for the differents series}

newChart.Legends[SeriesName].CustomItems.Add(newChart.Series[SeriesName].Color, ChartD.LegendLabels[i]);

mschart line chart x- labels

How do I force mschart to display all X- labels? Let's say we have 10
grid in X-, mschart only displays 5 of them. Even I specified the
Chart1.ChartAreas[0].AxisX.LabelStyle.Angle = -90; and specified chart
width to a large number, the mschart still didn't display all labels.

Any ideas?
