I have a cube deployed on an SSAS Server. Is there any way I can modify the cube's MDX online (without taking it offline) via a C# App?
Appreciate your soon reply!

I recently upgrade from SQL Server 2000 x32 to SQLServer 2008 R2 x64 but only the database engine not the Analysis Server, I used to use this code to proces the cubes.
but now it do not work more with the error:
Error at create server:
Error Source Description HelpFile HelpID
---------- ------------------------- -------------------- -------- -----------
0x80040154 ODSOLE Extended Procedure Clase no registrada NULL 0
(1 row(s) affected)
I found this article:
It means that I can not process the cube using the same method any more ?
I upgraded to SQL Server 2008 from 2005 and now when browsing my cubes only one measure displays at a time e.g. i can view two measures actual month and YTD the two displays but when i drag a dimension to the row, the actual month disappears and
only YTD displays. if i remove the YTD measure the actual month shows again. Without the dimensions in the rows they both show. Does anybody have a suggestion on how to resolve this? it worked perfectly well before the upgrade.
I have no experience with MDX and it appears that during the cube building process for Project Server 2007 there seems to be some deficient MDX scripts.ÃÂ I looked at the SASS logs with no luck andÃÂ looked in the application logs with no luck.ÃÂ I scripted out the problematic cube MSP_Portfoilio_Analyzer and found the 'Reported' syntax but don't really know how to correct or if there is even a problem.ÃÂ The cube has built in the past with no problems.ÃÂ Any help would be appreciated.
Server build is as follows:
Microsoft SQL Server 2005 - 9.00.3200.00 (X64)ÃÂ ÃÂ OctÃÂ 2 2007 12:23:02ÃÂ ÃÂ Copyright (c) 1988-2005 Microsoft CorporationÃÂ Enterprise Edition (64-bit) on Windows NT 5.2 (Build 3790: Service Pack 1)ÃÂ ÃÂ
The server has both SQL Server and SSAS installed.
Brief Problem Description: MSAS Cube synchronization under 10 MB/sec.
We run more than 20 servers supporting Microsoft SQL Server and Analysis Services.
In all cases the operating systems is 2008 R2 enterprise.
The systems are all modern 64 bit with 64GB to 256GB of main memory.
Servers have dual “teamed” 1 Gb/s network connections.
We implement the concept of a staging server and a live server.
On the staging server the MSAS cube is regularly updated from the local SQL Server DB. The live cube server is then synchronized from the staging cube. Users only go against
the live cube.
How can deploy a cube from production server to local server?
I tried to do it from BIDS, I have opened production server database from BIDS but nothing happened when I click project file.
I couldnt change default deployment
Also I have tried Wizard but couldnt find product server asdatabase
Any help will be appreciated
can we process the cube exists in the remote system, using vb.net/c#
i am able to process in the same system, where analysis service available.
i couln't process this from the client system.
is there any soluctions?
I have a near-complete Silverlight RIA app and I am adding some features to it on the phone. What I have done so far:
1. Exposed the AuthenticationService and RIA Domain services via WCF
2. Added Service References for the Domain Services (making sure to change the Collection type of the Service Settings to Generic.List and uncheck Reuse types in referenced assemblies)
3. Updated the ServiceReferences.ClientConfig so that EnableHttpCookieContainer=true for each of the bindings and applied the cookie and saved off the authentication cookie for subsequent domain calls
The Authentication and other services are working now against the development machine. Now I want to run the phone app against the deployed server.
I deployed the Web server to my deployed machine and updated ServiceReferences.ClientConfig with the deployed server address for each EndPoint. When that failed I deleted the ServiceReferences and rebuilt them pointing to the host. No matter what I do I
get an ArgumentNullException in QueryResultOfUser EndLogin and the login request never leaves the (emulated) device (according to Fiddler).
I wrote a little test WCF app
Currently, my system has SQL Server 2008 and SSAS on one server,
and when querying is active, SSAS shows memory problems.
From the web, I found this document,
SQL Server Databases and cubes on one Server
and as the document suggests, I'd like to change memory related setting for SSAS.
But the document is based on 2005 version.
Any suggested parameter values for 2008 ?
Reports are deployed to Windows server 2008 and not running
Our reports were design in VS2005 and Reporting Services 2005 and deployed to Windows Server 2003 with SQL Server 2005. Our web application is running on Windows Server 2003 and using ReportViewer to show the data in the web.
Now we have upgraded both our Web server with IIS7 and IIS6 compatibility and database server to Windows server 2008 and installed SQL Server 2008 and Reporting Services 2008. We deployed our reports directly to this new server. When we run reports in the report manager in Reporting Services 2008 there is no problem we are able to run report but application could not run it, it times out. We are wondering if anybody had te same experience, is report viewer in VS2005 able to pull data from Reporting Services 2008? Is there any setup we need to do in web server or database server?
