Posted By:      Posted Date: September 20, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

Hi all,

I have a requirement of sending mails to different departments based on the action of the department members using SPD 2007. if a sales person updates his sales, a mail should go to sales head. if a service person updates, a mail should go service dept. I have all these stored in the one list.

Another issue is i have member group and manager group using the same list. i want a mail sent to specific manager when a member from member group updates, simillarly send mail to specific member when manager updates.

Please let me know if we can achive these dynamic mails in workflow using sharepoint desingner 2007.

Thanks in advance

Dynamically Assign Datagrid Column Binding from XAML

I am trying to build a generic user control that will serve as a quick list maintenance screen.

I have a base ViewModel that has two string properties IDColumnName and DisplayColumnName and then a collection of objects to be edited.  Inherited view models will be created for each object type that needs to be maintained.  The usercontrols datacontext is set to the viewmodel.

What I want to do is have the datagrid, who's itemssource is bound to the collection of objects in the viewmodel, have one column and have that one column bound to the property specified in the DisplayColumnName property of the viewmodel, and I'd like to do it all in XAML.  I've got the datagrids rowdetailstemplate being dynamically determined based on the object type but am struggling with dynamically setting which property the one column displays.

Need to change site theme dynamically in MOSS 2007

I'm searching for a web part (or some code easy to implement) that allow to change site theme everytime I click on a link. For example, suppose that I've three colored circles: Red, Blue and Brown. If I click on the red one, I'll obtain the Red theme site; if I select the Blue one, I'll obtain the Blue theme site, and so on. Basically, I need something to personalize look and feel of my site depending on users preferences.

Thanks in advance.

Dynamically assign controls

Hi Guys,

What I have developed so far is a panel which allows a user to leave feedback for a page they are viewing.

Now - my problem is how to control what will be displayed.

What is preventing me moving forward is the fact that I need to re-use checkboxes (ids) in more than one instance. But the checkbox id will only exists once on the page depending on the users choice.

An example of the above is as follows (which is based on choice). So if a user clicks:

1) "Yes" - A texbox and a submit button will appear.

2) "Yes, with the exception of..." - A group of predefined checkboxes, a texbox and a submit button will appear.

3) "No" - A group of predefined checkboxes, a texbox and a submit button will appear.

Now with option 2 and 3, they will re-use a few of the same checkboxes, but because I cannot assign the control with the same ID twice on the page (or can I?), this is where I need to introduce the dynamic assignment? Is this correct?

Is my thought process on the above correct?

If so, what will be the best way of doing this. Is there a demo or perhaps a tutorial on this out there? I've searched, but did not quite find the above

Dynamically assign stored procedure

I have a report that depending on what parameters the users selects can use one of three different sql stored procs. I figured out how to call the correct procedure by creating an expression for the data set, but the problem I have is the number of parameters each sp uses. One needs 7 parameters and one needs only 6 and the third only needs 5.

When I run the report and call the sp that uses 7 parameters, eveything works fine, but I get a 'too many parameters' error when I try to use the sp that needs only 5 or 6 parameters.

Is there any way to dynamically pass parameters to the sp?

Sharepoint 2007 Workflow sometimes does not assign a task

We created a workflow in SPD that would assign a task to a set of individual users depending on a creteria when a users adds a document to a doc lib. It gets the users from a list and depending it could be a user or a few users. Now the workflow will sometimes work 100% and sometims it will send the task but the assigned to field will be blank. We try run the workflow a few minutes later on the exact same scinario and the workflow works fine. We are running MOSS 2007 with SP2.

I have tried putting pauses in and this did not help much either.

The process is as follows.

User adds document to doc lib and it asks to fill out required info on form. The user will select a value... lets say 01 and then checkin the document. Once checked in the workflow begins. based on the users selection it will go to the list see 01 and it will have a list of users for that to assign a task to. Now most of the time the workflow works fine but sometimes the assigned to field is blank even on the same selection.

Any suggestions will be greatly appretiated thanks

Write Custom WebParts for SharePoint 2007

The popularity of SharePoint Portal Server 2003 led Microsoft to tightly integrate the next SharePoint version, Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) 2007, with its ASP.NET 2.0 WebPart framework. This tight integration enables the ASP.NET and SharePoint developer to do a number of things that previously weren't possible

AJAX in MOSS 2007

These days implementing AJAX in sharepoint has become a important request for share point applications.

Here i'm explaining how to create and deploy a AJnAX webpart in step by step manner

Master Pages in MOSS 2007

'MasterPages' feature in sharepoint 2007 makes the entire customization job easy.In 2003 we used to face lot of issues to get the same look and feel and the standard behaviour for overall site. In 2007, customizing the look and feel for the entire site can be done in a simple way by using 'MasterPage' feature.

Content Types in MOSS 2007

In this article I will try to describe the one of the best feature in Microsoft office Share Point 2007 called Content Types.

Content types are simply collection of contents. Each content in a Content type can have different settings.Basically it is a reusable collection of settings which you want to apply to a particular category of contents.

SharePoint 2007 Workflows - Things to Consider Before You Start

SharePoint 2007 (MOSS) utilizes the Workflow Foundation (WF) to enable workflows on lists and content types. But before you start doing cartwheels there are few things you should know before you get started. The experiences I'll be discussing are not from book smarts but from building real MOSS solutions that are in production today.

Dynamically Create Controls in ASP.NET by Using Visual C# .NET

This article demonstrates how to dynamically create a control for an .aspx page. The sample project does the following:
Creates two TextBox controls.
Verifies that the contents (TextBox.text) and the attributes of the TextBox are saved across posts to the server.
Illustrates handling events that are posted by a dynamically-created control

Dynamically Create Controls in ASP.NET with Visual Basic .NET

This step-by-step article describes how to dynamically create controls for an ASPX Web page.

The sample project does the following:
It creates two TextBox controls.
It verifies that the TextBox contents (TextBox.text) and attributes are saved across posts to the server.
It describes how events that are posted by a dynamically created control are handled.

Writing Custom Web Parts for SharePoint 2007

As I mentioned in an earlier blog post, SharePoint 2007 is built on top of ASP.NET 2.0, which means you can now use ASP.NET 2.0 features (Forms Authentication, Master Pages, Membership, Site Navigation, New Data Controls, etc) when building SharePoint sites. This is true for both the new Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 version (which will be a free download) as well as Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 (which costs money).
