Workflow project compilation fails with error 348: Compilation failed. Cannot execute a program.

Hi, I am trying to build a workflow project on a PC and I am getting the "error 348: Compilation failed. Cannot execute a program." error. This project is part of a bigger solution and it used to build just fine on my PC. Also, the project and the solution build OK on several other computers. I am sure that the problem is something on my PC. 1. I am not sure what changed to make the project start failing. 2. I tried to delete the project, source and all folders from the disk and sync to the source control again 3. Re-installed the .NET 3.5 framework 4. Uninstalled Visual Studio 2008, deleted the visual studio folder under program files, and reinstalled VS 2008 5. I noticed the the file referenced in the error "...Temp\8sl_helt.cmdline" does not exist under the Temp folder. An empty folder called "8sl_helt"however is created, but there is no file with the cmdline extension. I turned up the output log to "diagnostics", this is the output generated when the error happens. Have anybody seen this? Done building target "_ComputeNonExistentFileProperty" in project "QCReviewWorkflowLibrary.csproj". Target "CreateWorkflowManifestResourceNames" skipped. Previously built successfully. Target "WorkflowCompilation" in file "C:\Program Files\MSBuild\Microsoft\Windows Workflow Foundation\v3.5\Workflow.T

All my server-controls became unrecognized!!! like there's compilation error or web.config missing!

hi!

please help - the problem is in post subject.

I have lots of warnings with following text:

"Warning 10 Element 'HyperLink' is not a known element. This can occur if there is a compilation error in the Web site, or the web.config file is missing. C:\Users\Pavel\Documents\Visual Studio 2010\WebSites\BioWebSite\ToScientist.aspx 26 18 C:\...\BioWebSite\"

But web.confg is there! And there's no compilation error!

Site builds just fine. And If I upload it to my hoster - it works!

But with all these errors I cant add controls to pages - VS2010 adds hyperlink without ID, and intelisens stoped to work.

Strange, but in my other project (web-application) I have no such difficuty.

state machine workflow project creation error

Hi,   I have a dev environment which i had sharepoint 2007 and now i upgraded it to sharepoint 2010. Now when i try to create a state machine workflow project it gives me an error Object Reference not set to an object. I uninstalled Sharepoint extensions 1.3 (as i 64bit win2008 vm) and when i am trying to install it. In one of the installation screens where it asks for the port no  and the select the app pool it only shows the sharepoint central v3 app pool . i was expecting to have sharepoint 2010 product app pool in the drop down. I know that there should be a app pool on port 80. Since i upgraded sharepoint to 2010. I want sharepoint visual studio extensions 1.3 to point to sharepoint 80 app pool . Please can you tell me how i can do it.

Visual Studio Compilation Error - LC.EXE

I am using Windows XP SP2, and working on MS VS .NET 2005. My application was working fine till I installed few windows updates. Now on compilation I get an error message - ""LC.exe" exited with code -1073741819." Someone told me that this could OS bit problem. I checked in My Computer->properties ->advanced->environment variables ->system variables->Processor_Architecture which states x86 over there. I am not able to compile my applications due to this problem. The application was working normaly. I think the software updates caused this problem, I even uninstalled the updates but then nothing helped. I am stuck on this. Someone please help. Highly urgent.

Compilation error after inserting script

I have a one page ASP.Net site; there is no separate code-behind file.  It pulls its data from a SQL ODBC connection; All was well, until I tried to include script to change the color of the row, based on a condition.  Normally, the backcolor is black; and the forecolor is white; the forecolor should change to blueviolet when the field "flex_in" is not null.  Here is the code:

<%@ Page Language="C#" %>

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

ASP.NET Security Vulnerability Error Handling Project Part 3

In ASP.NET Security Vulnerability Error Handling Project Part 1 , we discussed implementing a project that utilizes the suggestions made in Scott Guthrie's post on ASP.NET Security Vulnerability . Even after Microsoft releases a patch for this security vulnerability, this working project will still be valuable for generating your error messages and sending emails. I showed how to setup the web.config file, add the sleep delay, and optionally display the error to the screen for developer debugging...(read more)

ASP.NET Security Vulnerability Error Handling Project Part 1

After having read Scott Guthrie's post on ASP.NET Security Vulnerability , I decided to take my existing error handling code, update it with his suggested sleep delay, and put it into a separate VB.NET Visual Studio project to share with others. In my project, you may optionally display the details of the error on the page if you update the code to set the debug flag to true, for instance, if the developer is logged in. I also send the error message and site specific details to the developer via...(read more)
