Event ID 7000 - The system cannot find the path specified.

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 19, 2010    Points: 0   Category :.NET Framework

This is a very old prolem that i am getting to. First off I went through anywhere from 4 to 6 or more sessions with a Microsoft TECH and it even escalated a couple of levels of TECH support to boot. I can't remember the details specifically. I do know that I've started with gound up (installed/uninstalled NET Framework versions) installs to where I have all the versions installed. The Service doesn't start either automatically nor manual. I tried the patience of the Support people to fix this last error at that time.

I am starting anew to get the NET Framework Service to work properly . I hope I am in the right support forum.

The system cannot find the path specified

I want to run an external command from my c# program and this is how I am running it, but getting the error: "The system cannot find the path specified".Please check my code and debugging details copied below and suggest what I need to fix. Thank You. string MappingCommand = MappingCommandPath + "Mapping.exe /FileName " + HL7FileServerIn + FName;       Process p = Process.Start(MappingCommand);On the debugger I get MappingCommand as: "\\\\csi-myserv-dkv\\DKV\\Projects\\CSIAccessioning\\Altova\\Mapping\\bin\\Debug\\Mapping.exe /FileName C:\\Orders\\ORM2.hl7"    On command prompt when I copy past the above MappingCommand and remove the escape sequences, the following command runs fine.\\csi-myserv-dkv\DKV\Projects\CSIAccessioning\Altova\Mapping\bin\Debug\Mapping.exe /FileName C:\Orders\ORM2.hl7Your help is highly appreciated.

SENS: System Event Notification Services and WMI Enable Flexible, Efficient Mobile Network Computing

Networked applications must deal with a host of connection problems ranging from timeouts to congestion to unavailability. If these applications can check the current connection status and, when disconnected, cache transmissions, they become more efficient. Fortunately, both the System Event Notification System (SENS) and Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) can send notifications to keep applications informed of network status. In this article, the author explains the use of several SENS interfaces, including ISensNetwork and ISensLogon, which trigger events for connects/disconnects and logons/logoffs, respectively. The author then shows how you can subscribe to each of these events, and follows with a discussion of when you might use WMI events instead.

How do I find the file path from a namespace.class name?

I'm programatically looking ito a .aspx file and getting the file class name declared in its CodeBehind. For example, when analyzing myFile.aspx I read in its Page Directive and found its CodeBehind equals "myApplication\myPage.aspx.vb". Then I use the code below:

Dim Assm As System.Reflection.Assembly = System.Reflection.Assembly.LoadFrom("myApplication\bin\myApplication.dll")
Dim ClassType As Type = Assm.GetType("myApplication\myPage.aspx.vb")
' myBaseType = "myApplication.Forms.BasePage"
Dim myBaseType As System.Type = ClassType.BaseType

Now I want to read the BaseFile (class = myApplication.Forms.BasePage). However, to read in this file, I need I need to get its full path instead of its namespace.class hiearchy. In this case, the BasePage is wrapped in a different namespace declaration thus I cannot just change the '.' to '\' in order to get the path.

How can I get the path of BasePage so I can read it? Thank you - Frank

System.Data.OleDb.OleDbException: Could not find installable ISAM.

Hi, i got the following error while i am trying to get my web application to run on windows server 2003. I've installed 2007 data access components on windows server 2003 but the web application does not seem to work. The codes that i use is as follows:

string strConn = "Provider=Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0;Data Source=" + address + ";Extended Properties=Excel 12.0;"; OleDbConnection objConn = new OleDbConnection(strConn); string strSQL = "SELECT * FROM [Sheet 1$]"; OleDbCommand objCmd = new OleDbCommand(strSQL, objConn);

OleDbDataReader oddReader = null;

oddReader = objCmd.ExecuteReader();

I've read a lot of forum posts and almost all of them mentioned ab out the connectionstring being wrong. However, when i ran the codes on my local machine, there were no errors. The error only show when i was running on windows server 2003.

I've underlined where the error is pointing to. Please advise. Thanks

Could not find a part of the path ... Occuring even if it's not required

I have a windows application which will be installed on a client PC. However, when the user tries to run the app, an error is thrown up.   Could not find a part of the path "C:\Documents and Settings\$username$\Application Data\$appName folder$\sample_log.txt   I looked in the code..but could not find any reference to the file named sample_log.txt . There's no code that creates this file. Although, I know, we had in the past created this file for testing purposes and then deleted the code.   Thank You

Working with System.IO.Path static class

Hello everyone. Today, I was exploring the System.IO namespace in .NET 4.0 on an ASP.NET web application where I came to few changes, comparing with the previous versions of .NET, related to the System.IO.Path static class. The Path class contains the same method names in .NET 2.0, 3.5 as well as 4.0, only (in .NET 4.0) new overloads are added to System.IO.Path.Combine() method. In the following blog post, I will show the usage of few methods belonging to the System.IO.Path static class, as well as, the changes in Combine() method added in .NET 4.0. Besides the first method that is available in the previous versions for combining two string paths, now in .NET 4.0 you can combine unlimited strings to the path. Note: For testing purpose, on your web application root, create folders with name Files, Files/SubFolder, Files/SubSubFolder and add three text files: text1.txt (in Files), text2.txt (in Files/SubFolder), text3.txt (in Files/SubFolder/SubSubFolder).   Here are few examples:             string path1 = System.IO.Path.Combine(Server.MapPath("Files"), "text1.txt"); //this will give the path to %WEBAPP_ROOT%/Files/text1.text -             string path2 = System.IO.Path.Combine(Server.MapPath("Files"), "SubFolder", "text2.txt"); //this will give

Upload image to database - couldn't find file path

I'm trying to display images in a GridView (yes, still this...). [edit] Before I can come to that I have to upload some images to the database.I've followed this tutorial for the "upload image to database" code (this worked fine for uploading images, but I don't know if the images were converted to byte):http://aspsnippets.com/Articles/Save-Files-to-SQL-Server-Database-using-FileUpload-Control.aspxand I've followed this tutorial for the "display images in gridview" code (and "retrieve file" from the tutorial below).http://www.aspsnippets.com/Articles/Display-images-from-SQL-Server-Database-in-ASP.Net-GridView-control.aspxIt doesn't quite work, the GridView shows but without imagesNow I'm trying to change the "save file" code according to this tutorial:http://aspsnippets.com/Articles/Save-and-Retrieve-Files-from-SQL-Server-Database-using-ASP.Net.aspxbut I don't understand everything in it. When I try to upload an image I get an error on this line:FileStream fs = new FileStream(filePath, FileMode.Open, FileAccess.Read); //couldn't find file (path to image I tried to upload) What should I do about it?

system wide pulsed event

Can a thread signal an event which is being waited for by a thread running in another process? I have a requirement where multiple processes feed a queue which sends requiests to amazon web services for info on books and offers to sell the book. Currently the request queue is a database table, so any process on the system can place an entry on the queue for the background process to read and send to amazon.  I need a way to signal requesters that the background process has processed a request. ( I am assuming that semaphores and mutexes can only be signaled and waited for within the same process. ) thanks,

Can't find System.Printing

Hello, I just installed the trial version of Visual C# 2008 Express Edition with SP1 and the Microsoft .NET 3.5 Framework. I have created a new project (console application) and need to use System.Printing in my project to access the print queue on my machine. However, System.Printing seems to be missing from my installation since I cannot see it in the drop down box that appears immediately after I type in 'System.' in the source file. Do I need some special project setting to include System.Printing? Am I missing something from my installation? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Anuj
