starting a new independent wpf application from the application itself

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 19, 2010    Points: 0   Category :WPF

In a wpf application i have a class  (AddressesClass) that supplie the address of some folder where a database and some fiels are stoed.

All the classes in this app.domainrefere to these class when they ahve to get or save data.

many classes have indepente threds to read or write data to tehse folders.

One class in this application should allow the user to see data stored in another set of folders

but it needs to used the classes of the app.domain to present the data.

I could change temporary the folder addresses stored in the AddressesClass but sice these classes could be used by  independet threads

started from inside the app.domain i would like to find a more robust way to address this problem.

I would like to start an independent application where the addresses are changed so i do not create problem with the original one

how can i do this in wpf?

i found this interesting article but i can not translate it in vb.net even with a converte

Having trouble starting my very own MVC tutorial-sans web application.

I'm having trouble trying to understand what to do here. My objective isn't as simple as a regular old CRUD form to create a new entity, but rather a browse index page that will list all of the Evaluations in my database. Each evaluation is attached to a RegisteredCourse which in turn has a Teacher attached to it. Here is how I'd like to present the information:My table structure doesn't allow me to just invoke it simply, so I know I have to create a ViewModel to have my controller give my View something nice and useful. My question is how to create this ViewModel. I'm stumped because I've never tackled this sort of problem before. Thanks. Below is SQL schema if that helps.create table Grado( ID int identity(1,1) primary key, Nombre varchar(64) ) create table Jefe( ID int identity(1,1) primary key, Nombre varchar(128), Apellido varchar(256) ) create table Area( ID int identity(1,1) primary key, IDJefe int foreign key references Jefe(ID), Nombre varchar(64) ) create table Carrera( ID int identity(1,1) primary key, IDArea int foreign key references Area(ID), Nombre varchar(64) ) create table Docente( ID int identity(1,1) primary key, IDCarrera int foreign key references Carrera(ID), IDGrado int foreign key references Grado(ID), Nombre varchar(128), Apellido varchar(256), Carnet varchar(20), FechaNacimiento datetime ) create table Materia( ID int

Problems with UserProfile Application Service not starting.

I'm using the Rational Guide from Harbar.net, and have the following problem:

UserProfileApplication.SynchronizeMIIS: Failed to configure ILM, will attempt during next rerun. Exception: System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Specified collection 'StringSchemaCollection' cannot be dropped because it is used by object 'MyAD_Domain\spfarm.GetObjectCurrent'.

I found references to simalr errors with Kerberos auth problems, but not one like this.

What did I do wrong, and how do I correct it?

"Windows SharePoint Services Web Application" service is showing 'Error starting'.

I just installed MOSS SP2 and ran the config wizard on the server.
I am facing issue with our farm. Found that "Windows SharePoint Services Web Application" is in a problem.

I tried below commands:-
stsadm -o provisionservice -action stop -servicetype spwebservice -servicename ""
stsadm -o provisionservice -action start -servicetype spwebservice -servicename ""
But getting error:- Provision of service failed. Additional information: 1387.

Checked eventvwr and found below error log:-
Event Type: Error
Event Source: Windows SharePoint Services 3
Event Category: Topology
Event ID: 7034
Date:  10/21/2010
Time:  5:16:10 AM

Computer: <Servername>
An attempt to start/stop instance  of service Windows SharePoint Services Web Application on server <servername> did not succeed. Re-run the action via UI or command line on the specified server.

None of the sites are working and I cannot see anything in the IIS folder nor in the IIS manager. All application folders are missing. But, I can see all the sites & Content databasesin the Central Admin.

Can someone please help?

Forefront Identity Manager errors when starting the User Profile Synchronization Service Application

I have seen several people who are having trouble getting the User Profile Synchronization Service to start.  None of those threads have the set of errors that I am seeing.  I have all the prerequisites installed and I am using the farm administrator account which has admin rights both on the SP server and the SQL box.  This is a split back-to-back extranet topology and there is a one way trust between the extranet domain and the internal domain.  The administrator account is an internal domain account.  I receive the following two Forefront errors every five seconds in the event log after starting the User Profile Synchronization Service Application:

How to solve Application error at the time of starting debugger

Hello all,

This is my first post here. So if I posted in wrong forum point me to the correct direction.

I have installed Visual Studio 2005 (.Net 2.0) in my Windows Xp Service Pack 2 operating system.
When the setup had finished the wizard displayed me the following message :-

Visual Studio Setup is complete.
Setup is completed with some warnings."

Now when I clicked the "View Error Log" link a web document opened and there I found so many lines. Of them one is :-

"Failed to copy the file properly Webdev.Webserver.Exe"

Now when I'm trying to launch Vs2005 IDE, it is working but when I'm trying to run my programs by pressing F5 or anyone of the available debugger options I'm fetching the following errors :-

In case of windows applications (regradless whether the selected language is VB or C#) :-
"The application failed to initiliaze properly (0xc000007b). Click on OK to terminate the application."

In case of web a

Microsoft's Collaborative Application Markup Language (CAML) Loop

discovered an interesting error recently while working with Microsoft's Collaborative Application Markup Language (CAML) that, surprisingly, had received no ink. Partly what surprises me about this is that the error may require you to rewrite large sections of your code if you haven't previously considered this SharePoint limitation. I'll start with some context, but first of all the error is:

Integrating a Legacy Web Application in SharePoint

This month we will continue with the theme of deploying Microsoft's SharePoint as a company intranet by describing a method for integrating a legacy Web application inside a SharePoint site.

In many companies the intranet site is not just a home page with announcements. It houses Web applications used by many different departments. In last month's article, I built a page to search the employee table in Northwind (the sample database included in Microsoft's SQL Server). This month, I will move the Web pages used to add/remove records from the table into the SharePoint intranet.

MVC architecture in ASP.Net using C# and Microsoft Data Access Application block

The Model-View-Controller (MVC) pattern separates the modeling of the domain, the presentation, and the actions based on user input into three separate classes [Burbeck92]:

Model. The model manages the behavior and data of the application domain, responds to requests for information about its state (usually from the view), and responds to instructions to change state (usually from the controller).

View. The view manages the display of information.

Controller. The controller interprets the mouse and keyboard inputs from the user, informing the model and/or the view to change as appropriate.

High-Performance .NET Application Development & Architecture

It has always been a goal of project architects to plan an effective strategy from the ground up in regards to an new application. All relevant factors are taken into consideration with respect to the application, from its design and layout to a functional website infrastructure. Pre-.NET strategies and design guidelines still effective now were developed with Microsoft's DNA (Distributed interNet Application) platform. This model successfully served the purpose of architecting N(any number of)-Tier (levels) applications. In its basic sense, as in most robust, distributed applications, you'll architect 3 main layers or Tiers: presentation, business rules and data access.

Application architecture in asp .net

Application Architecture is the most important process of developing a good application. Some people tends to jump into coding without any architecture laid. Later we see those people changing the architecture and finally the application had to be developed from the scratch with the correct architecture.

In this article I will describe some details about how you can improve the architecture of you application. This article is targeted to the beginner's audience.

Improving Application Performance in .Net

Application performance has always been a concern for Web Application developers. This article contains guidelines and tips for maximizing application performance in ASP.NET.

Logic behind N -Tier Application Development

In the arena of application development, developers all over the world use various programming languages, technical processes, and technical tools. While using number of technical & non technical elements the processes or methods become complex, for simplification of the application development process, developers use various techniques such as dividing the application architecture into layers or parts. In the professional & technical language this separation or division process is called N-Tier Application Development process, where "N" stands for number and "tire" stands for layers or parts.

How to create 3 tier application using LINQ

As you know that in 3 tier architecture there are three layers

User interface layer. (Is our Form in Windows application and .aspx page in Web application)
Data Access layer. (Which provides interface between Business logic layer and Database)
Business Logic layer.(Which stores your application logic)

Using Lightbox in an ASP.NET Application

The article describes Lightbox as, "... a simple, unobtrusive script used to overlay images on the current page." It delivers a nice, professional looking method for displaying images as overlays through the use of hyperlinks.

Solidify Your C# Application Architecture with Design Patterns

design pattern can solve many problems by providing a framework for building an application. Design patterns, which make the design process cleaner and more efficient, are especially well-suited for use in C# development because it is an object-oriented language. Existing design patterns make good templates for your objects, allowing you to build software faster. This article describes several popular design patterns you can use in your own applications, including the singleton, the decorator, the composite, and the state classes, which can improve the extensibility of your applications and the reuse of your objects.

Application Architecture in Windows Forms 2.0

Applications have special support in Windows Forms. For starters, you can manage and tailor your application's lifetime, and, when the work flow is disrupted by an unhandled exception, you can choose from several methods of response. Then, there are several application models that you can employ, including Single Document Interface (SDI) and Multiple Document Interface (MDI) applications, each of which can support either multiple-instance or single-instance mode, the former the VS05 default and the latter requiring special consideration. All applications, however, can discover and use a wide variety of information about the system and environment they execute in.
