The following error occurred within a SharePoint 2010 document library:
As I tried to test out the new SharePoint 2010 environment I changed the metadata from a few documents within a document library. I noticed that the data from the currency und number field was incorrect from a few documents. The numbers
looked like that the decimal separator were ignored. For an example: 123.456,78 was saved as 12.345.678.
At first I thought it could be a language incompabilty but if that would be the case: Why would there be other documents which show the correct number?
I created another document library to recreate this error. And there I noticed the real reason: Every time I changed these fields from a document which was saved in the office 2007 format the error occurred. The metadata from the documents
in the office 2003 format were correct.
Has anyone a similar problem or got an idea how to solve this problem?
Frontend: Windows Server 2008 SP2 ent

Apparently new Document Libraries created in Sharepoint are no longer set up the way we would like as far as version control.
Is there any way to set up SP so that any new document library created has specific settings, through Central admin control?
i do see that previous versions this was not possible, but was curious if they changed this in 2010?
I want to capture the event when user click on document in document library. Please let me know how to capture this event in SharePoint 2010?
Hope you are doing well.

I am trying to migrate from SharePoint 2007 to SharePoint 2010. My company's current setup has seen very limited use because we have previously been a mulitple-content-management provider shop, but there are some content items we wish to re-use.
We also want to completely redesign our SharePoint setup to better suit the needs of our business, and the various departments.
My problem, therefore, is the seeming fact that you can apparently EXPORT granular backups down to the list and document library level, but when you try to IMPORT those lists, it gives you static.
Database-Attach upgrade MOSS2007 content databases into a SharePoint 2010 web application
In Central Administration | Backup and Restore | Granular Backup: Export a site or list, choosing whichever list from a site that has content in it.
in PowerShell, attempt the command Import-SPWeb -identity <url|GUID> -path <location of .cmp file created above> -force -verbose
I have attempted looking up the list in the content database for the new site to find its GUID, and also putting the URL of the list, down to the .aspx page it is viewed at.
So at this point I am wondering if what I am trying to accomplish is even possible with out-of-the-box SP2010 functionality. Is it? If not I ask the universe "wh
