TSPortalWebPart Web Part appears to be causing a problem

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 19, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

Using Sharepoint 2010 installed on w2k8 r2 std with remote desktop services and rd web access installed. Added rd web access to default site collection in Sharepoint per "Customizing rd web access by using sharepoint" and it works just fine. Added two more site collections and rd web access to both. Both seem to work fine until IIS Admin resets. Then all three sites fail with error "The "TSPortalWebPart" Web Part appears to be causing a problem. Could not find a part of the path 'C:\inetpub\wwwroot\wss\VirtualDirectories\80\sites\DEOWeb\_wpresources\TSPortalWebPart\6.1.0.0__31bf3856ad364e35\images\rapwait.gif'."

I have to delete the webpart in order to clear the error.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

Custom Web Part Problem After SharePoint Restore

Hi, I've recently moved our sharepoint site and databases (using Microsoft Internal Database) to another standalone server. I did a catastrophic backup and then restored it on the destination server successfully via the central Administration page. I have also copied our custom web part library dll to 'c:\windows\assembly' directory and 'C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\wss\VirtualDirectories\80\bin' directory. I also copied over the old web.config file to 'C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\wss\VirtualDirectories\80'. However, I still seem to be missing something as I get the error below while loading the site. I haven't been able to find a solution so hoping someone has seen it before here. Has anyone seen this happen before? Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks. having problem opening up pages correctly from web part

Hi all, I have a SL4 application that I'm trying to deploy as a webpart in Sharepoint 2010. To give you a background -- the SL project name is MyStuffApp. And there's a designated test page project called MyStuffApp.Web. Now, MyStuffApp has 2 different xaml pages, page1.xaml and page2.xaml. I've added two aspx pages on MyStuffApp.Web called page1.aspx and page2.aspx to respectively host the two xaml.  When I run the application, page1.aspx opens up. It has a hyperlinkbutton on it, which when clicked, opens up pag2.aspx. I've properly managed this on App.xaml.cs as well.  Now my problem is -- when I deploy the project as a web part, I can see page1.aspx. But when I click on that hyperlinkbutton, it doesn't display the content of page2.aspx, and I instead get the standard IE error "cannot display the webpage".  Can someone help me troubleshoot the issue? I'm very new to web parts, so I'm trying to learn things step-by-step.    Thanks.

problem with displaying items in list view web part

I have a list view webpart at default display form. Default Display form display items (for example) from the contracts documents library. List view webpart also associated with the same documents library (contracts). In such case this webpart doesn't display any item. But if I add another list view web part associated with warrants document library it display item without any problems. Is it possible to bind list view webpart to another data source for contracts document library? Or maybe another solution? Thanks!

Reporting Services Chart in SharePoint Web Part, Broken Image Problem

Hi,
I have a reporting services report that displays a dundas chart, it is a snapshot report executed daily.  When displaying the report inside a page viewer webpart or a report viewer web part in SharePoint, the first time after a recent snapshot occurs, the image shows up broken.  On refresh of the page the image is visible.

MOSS 2007
SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services NOT running in SharePoint Integration mode.

Any ideas or work arounds to get the image to display on the first load of the page or why the image is broken?  I've tried different report parameters, Format, ClearSesson with no luck.  Viewing the report in Report Manager works fine and also going directly to the ReportServer page is fine.  It only occurs when it's inside of SharePoint inside of the Page Viewer or Report Viewer web parts or even if I manually create an iframe in a content editor web part.

Thanks!

Problem seeing all Web Part Categories When Adding a Web Part

I have a development page that a one of my users is currently working on.  When he tries to add a web part to the page, the only web part category that he can see is the "Lists and Libraries" category.  When I go in, I see every category.  I have set him as an owner of the site, but that still has not given him access to see the other web parts.  I am convinced that this is a permissions issue, but I don't know what permission set he seems to be missing.  Anyone have any ideas?

Problem re-creating web part page

Hello,

I've got some web part pages which are being setup programatically. I want to be able to refresh those pages, i.e. delete all webpart on them and recreate the content from scratch. When I try this, the following exception is thrown:

The transformer type "Microsoft.SharePoint.Portal.WebControls.TransformableFilterValuesToEntityInstanceTransformer" is not allowed to be used on this page.

The exception comes from the following line:

SPWebPartConnection newConnection = wpmngr.SPConnectWebParts(providerWebPart, providerConnection, consumerWebPart, consumerConnection, transformer);

So I thought "let's delete the page and then just recreate it". Doesn't work either, same exception is thrown. I have no idea why this code would work the first time, but doesn't work a second time. It seems like something get's stuck preventing the same action twice, but I have no clue what to look for.

VS 2005 .net 2.0 WSE Extension problem (part II)

I refer to http://forums.asp.net/t/1393488.aspx because it most closely resembles my problem, but does not provide an adequate solution.

The problem is this: we have 2 PC's. Both have .NET 2.0, .NET 3.0, WSE 3.0, and VS 2005  8.0.50727.762

The problem occurs when we add a web reference.

One PC generates a xxxWSE proxy class, and the other does not.

In other words, one PC generates 2 partial classes: one of which contains a "WSE" and is derived from Microsoft.Web.Services3.WebServicesClientProtocol, and another which contains a nearly identically named class without the "WSE" and is derived from System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol.

For example, lets say I add a web reference to my TestSoap web services. After adding a web reference, I have these two classes:

public partial class TestSoapWse : Microsoft.Web.Services3.WebServicesClientProtocol
{
}

public partial class TestSoap : System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol
{
}

...And the second PC generates only one class which does not contain the "WSE" extension.

For example, lets say I add a web reference to my TestSoap web services. After adding a web reference, I have but one cl

Move to Win7 64-bit causing SQL Server Connection problem

We have a packaged VB App (Charm) originally developed in VS2003 then redeveloped in VS2005.

It uses a UDL file to point to the appropriate SQL Server and Database, using SQL OLEDB.

It has been working fine on dozens of different installations both in-house and at customer sites for years.

We recently moved it to Windows 7.  It generally runs fine on 32-bit Win 7 but not on 64-bit, as it can't find its server.

In an effort to resolve the issue we then changed the app to get its connection string from a config file (charm.exe.config) stored in the program folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Charm.

On some 64-bit machines (But not all!) it doesn't work with this setup either.  We put a dialogue in to debug where it thinks its server should be found.  It is ignoring the .config file setting (which I will paste below) and instead getting the server name (NDS-5) from within the original binaries of charm.exe.  This is the server on which the app was compiled - but it doesn't even exist on my test network which is at a different office location.

The connection string settings currently used are:-

 <connectionStrings>
  <add name="Charm.My.MySettings.CallManagerSQLConnectionString"
   connectionString="Provider=SQLOLEDB.1;Data Source=AC-XP\ACXPSQL

Content query web part problem

Hi, i am trying to prevent a content query webpart from displaying subfolders of folders... let me illustrate: i have a document list that i want to present in a content query, and in this list i have several folders that also, in turn, contain both other folders (lets call them "subfolders") and documents. When i select content type to display to be folders, what the content query does is it lists top level folders and "subfolders" as well, which is something that i want to avoid. How can i go about this? I know that i could filter out the "subfolders" by specifying each and every one by name in the filters, but that just doesn't seem right, so is there another solution or workaround for a situation like this (or is there something trivial that i'm not seeing)?

OLAP background color causing performance problem?

Yes, it may sound strange.  When we started using Excel 2007 our pivot table connectivity saw a performance drop.

As near as I can tell, Excel 2007 wants to do a Discover for MDSCHEMA_PROPERTIES with a RestrictionList of <PROPERTY_TYPE>2</PROPERTY_TYPE>.  Since the restriction does not filter on a particular cube, it appears that the operation is causing the user's dimension security to be calculated for every single cube in the database.

This is not a behavior that occurred in Excel 2003.  I noticed that t
