I have a Word document that is located at non-Sharepoint location XYZ. This word document has multiple hyperlinks contained within the body of the document. When I try and load this document to a document library it first changes the XYZ location of
the original document to the location where Sharepoint resides. THEN, it modifies ALL of the hyperlinks to a subset of the Sharepoint location. I am at my wits end as to how to stop this from happening.
Original File location Z:\Power\Procedures\somedocument.doc
After upload http:\\ap15\power\procedures\somedocument.doc
The ORIGINAL document is basically a Table of Contents that is several pages long and has several hundred links pointing to different file locations embedded within the body.
I am totally baffled as to how to stop this from happening. At some point all of the documents will get moved to the Sharepoint server, but in the interim I just want to link to the old document, in the old location, with the original links such that everyone
isn't going crazy that our procedures are missing in action. HELP.
