Submtting Calendar items with variable date information via InfoPath 2007 form

I've seen several posts regarding submitting to a list using and InfoPath form which I am successfully able to do in limited form. (only passing a basic date value) My environment: MOSS 2007 Enterprise w/SP2, InfoPath 2007, SPD 2007.

I'm basically trying to recreate a calendar form with the same data elements (and some additional ones for a specific business requirement) as the standard calendar newform.aspx form. (start time, end time broken down by date, hour, minute and All day event)

I need the form users to be able to select the date and if it is not an All day event...be able to select the hours and minutes just like on the newform.aspx. (date picker control for date and drop downs for hour and minute selection)

On submit I then need to create the list item with the appropriate data passed via a workflow.

My Start Time has a validation rule to not allow dates prior to the current date (and it can't blank) The End Time has a validation rule to not allow dates prior to what is specified as the Start Time value. (Also can't be blank) When I attempt to include conditonal formatting to hide the hour and minute drop downs if 'All Day Event' is selected I get errors stating the fields can't be blank.

I also can't figure out how to pass the entire date/time values or the All Day Event to the list withou

Extracting Infopath form templates (with code behind) from a farm

I am in the middle of a migration of MOSS 2007 on server 2003 R2 to server 2008 r2, to be in the position to migrate to SP 2010. I am trying to extract form templates (with code-behind) from the old farm to the new farm. I did not set this farm up myself, so I would have copies of everything that was deployed to the farm, but now I don't. I have tried grabbing the .xsn from the Form Templates form library, and the form comes over, but no code behind, it says, The VB or C# project for this form template cannot be found. I have also tried extracting the solution files, and changing the file ext to .cab and opening the file up, only to find nothing very useful.

I need to extract and open the code up because I believe one of the forms that sends emails dynamically, is pointing to an old exchange server, because the emails are not getting through, and the exchange server was recently changed.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Issue in Infopath 2007 browser form - cascading dropdown using owssvr.dll filter view

Referring the below link, I created a cascading dropdown. The parent dropdown has sharepoint list as datasource and the child dropdown has xml datasource that points to owssvr.dll filter view. The cascading drop down works fine in preview but throws error after publishing as admin approved form - "form cannot run the specified query" exception when trying to execute xml datasource i.e., when a value is selected in parent dropdown. The security is 'Full Trust". In the event viewer the error message states "401 unauthorised" for the user a/c. the xml data source is an approved udcx file and in central admin, have enabled cross domain for infopath service. I have tried different solution provided in tech forums but issue still exists. Not sure whether Im missing something. Can someone guide me in fixing this issue?

wss2.0 Infopath 2007 'This form requires connections to data sources when it is loaded. At least on

Hi all

I have a user who receives the error 'This form requires connections to data sources when it is loaded. At least one of these connections is not available. As specified by the form designer, this form will not open' when trying to Submit an infopath form located on a WSS2.0 site.

The user has been having this issue since upgrading to Office 2007 and IE7. I have had the user run an Office Diagnostics but this has not resolved the issue.

I am not aware of any other users experiencing this issue.

Any ideas please?

Deploying InfoPath 2007 form to WSS 3.0 as browser enabled

Please Help! I've created an Infopath form and wanted to deploy the form as browser enabled to WSS 3.0? What are the different options I can do this? If i cannot use a form then i would like to  create a custom list with all the form fields but the user should be able to enter information in the list and he should see only the information related to him. I don't want to give access of the whole list to each and every user. Only the administrator should be able to see the whole list. The form was actually a user access request form.

Any help and suggestions is appreciated.

How to prevent automatic update from sharepoint list on Infopath 2007 form

Hi there, I've got an Infopath 2007 form on MOSS 2007. I have a custom list in sharepoint and the infopath form has a data connection to that list to receive data. Is there any way to prevent automatic update on the values in the form that is received from the list. I'd like the new form to have updated info received from the list. However, the old/existing forms that were created should have the data that were available at the time when the form was created. Let me know if this is not clear and I'll try to explain more. Thanks,Pman http://www.pmansLab.com/

InfoPath 2007 - Publishing Creates multiple columns on SharePoint Form Library (GUIDS apparently are

I have been working this issue for 2 days now.  This has happened to me in the past and I was able to work through it.  It doesn't appear that this time I am going to be so lucky. Issue Description: When publishing an InfoPath form a new column is created that has the same name as the correct one, but a new GUID is created. Troubleshooting steps: I have read this article: http://www.delphi-ts.com/blogs/lozzi/post/2009/06/03/Duplicate-site-columns-in-MOSS-from-InfoPath-Forms.aspx   This was the solution the last time I had this problem.  However, no matter what I do, it is not working now.  I have a column named User Name which is the username of the person that submitted the InfoPath form for use with my Visual Studio workflow.  When the workflow kicks off, it reads this column and attempts to get the value.  The value is blank because a new column with the name User Name now exists and that is where the value is stored.  I attempted to fix it by remapping the GUIDs as described in the article.  I also reverted the code to a previous version from TFS.  None of these worked.   I now have 3 columns called User Name and I can remap the GUID to the second column and third column.  But when I try to map it to the first column (the one I need) it doesn't work. The first column that is circled is the correct column.

Infopath 2007: Cant we fetch data from a list or form library without using a Query to the data conn

I am trying to fetch data from a form library and a list (both secondary data sources). But cant do it without using a rule (Query using a data connection). However when I use the 'Refresh' control on the form it brings the value. I find it quite weird, as the connections are made properly and logically speaking all the data connetions should fetch dynamic data once the form opens or loads. Cant we do it without using a (data query) rule? Update: I am using a web based infopath forms, while using the same form on client its working fine. Why is that?

Email InfoPath form located on secure SharePoint 2007 using Outlook

I have a 2007 InfoPath form that is stored on a secure 2007 SharePoint team site that needs to be emailed to outside users for feedback on a certain subject. The form is opened by a team member (with site access), sent to the reviewer to provide feedback (via Outlook 2007), and then submitted back to the team member for review and submission to the SharePoint site.

The issue I've encountered is that the outside user who receives the form in Outlook as the body of the email cannot enter information in any fields in order to provide feedback. The option to "include the form template with the email" is blocked in my InfoPath form options (I believe because the form location is a secured site). I have tried adding the users to permissions in just the library where the form is published to, but they still cannot enter any information.

Can someone provide me with a solution for this problem?

Captcha in Infopath Form 2007

is there way to generate the Captcha control on browser enabled infopath form 2007.

Problem with InfoPath 2007 Form opened with InfoPath 2010 - whole number integer not coming into dat

I found an issue when testing existing InfoPath 2007 forms via the Infopath 2010 Designer client.  Integer fields in the form template are publishing to a SharePoint Forms Library and show in the default view.  However, if that library is then used as a Data Connection in another or same form template those integer fields are not displaying or available for selection.

This is not a problem using the InfoPath 2007 client.  It is not an option to convert the field to text as it could affect existing forms in existing libraries.  Also, existing integer fields are no longer appearing in previously defined SharePoint-based secondary data connections.  Only the ID field still appears.  But, those existing fields still work in the form and are selectable for functions, etc.

Is there a solution to this?

Thanks much!  Mike - www.ProgramNetInc.com

IE 9 Beta & InfoPath 2007 Form Radio Buttons Not Working

Has anyone else come across the IE9 bug that causes the radio buttons in the InfoPath 2007 forms to stop working (i.e. unselectable)?

Did you find a workaround (other than not to use IE9!)?

InfoPath 2007 Form Content Type does not save as infopath form but as xml document.

I have a couple of infopath forms deployed to sharepoint as content types. Normally, when a user creates a new document of an infopath content type, the form opens in browser mode and ,when the user fills in the form and saves the form, a new document is created in the document library with the correct icon and progid.

This was before... Now, whenever I save a form, the form submits correctly, i see the file in de document library, BUT it has the icon of an XML document, all the infopath functionality is gone and when I click the file, I get a save as dialog...

The form itself hasn't changed that much and even when I redeploy a version that worked before it still does not work. However, when I create a new doc lib and associate the malfunctioning form there, the behavior is normal and i can still reopen the saved form.

Little sidenote: I have 7 different forms that now do not work on my test machine. It used to be only one, but after redeploying them, all of them have the same problem. Now when I deployed these forms in a production environement, the same thing started happening there. So I stopped the deployment and in production there is just the newly deployed form that does not work.

I have already tried reassociating the form to the doc lib. And everything looks normal in central administration.

Any suggestions?

Infopath 2007 form error - Selected file is too large

We are using Inforpath form to capture some metadata along with couple of file attachments. We implemented that and its working fine

When we tested by trying to upload file more than 5 MB we got the following error

"The selected file is too large and is causing the form to exceed the amount of allowable resources. Select Another File"

During its analysis we found that this can be resolved by changing one of the "Infopath forms service " configuration named "Maximum size of form session state".

Is there any issue (like performance issues) in increasing this limit to allow us to upload the large attachment

In other words

In the Maximum size of form session state text box, type the maximum session state size in kilobytes. Form-filling sessions that exceed this value will terminate, an error message will be generated, and all form data entered during the session will be lost. The default value is 4096 kilobytes.

If I make this value to 10240 kilobytes (10 MB) ; will this cause any performance issues ??
