I have a form that's used to send emails form a website. It's in an update panel with validator controls and ajax validation extenders. In both IE7 and IE8 the click events of both the send and clear button didn't work. The AJAX validation extenders worked though. I was able to send an email with the form in a couple other browsers and all of the click events fired correctly. This problem seems to be with IE only.
My initial thought was that JS got disabled some how. But this didn't make sense since the AJAX extenders worked. I checked the settings in internet options and active scripting was enabled. I cleared the cookies and temporary internet files, restarted IE, and the email form began working correctly. As far as I know my site doesn't create any cookies.
Can anyone explain why this would be? I'm trying to understand what happened and/or why what I did fixed it.
