Maintain Controls State on Master Page.

I have Web Application which uses the Logged In User (Authenticated User) to query his Profile Data from Adabas/Unix using OLEDB. The application provides the user with about 21 different pages (Basic Info, Employment Info, Education, Dependants, Financial Info ...). The web application has a master page, and each profile data page is based on a User Control loaded in the Child ASPX Page. Since we are migrating our legacy applications from Adabas/Unix to SAP, the development Team has prepared web services to query for the same Profile Data from SAP using Web Services. Now, we have to modify the web application to consume the web services instead of using OLEDB to query Adabas. Since we are in the testing phase, and we have only very limited data in SAP, I have to provide temporary control to allow test query the Staff Profile for a Specified User (instead of the Authenticated User) and to select the Source: 1. SAP, or 2. Adabas.   So I am thinking to add the following "Control Section" in the Master Page:<div runat="server" id="divSAPTest" class="SAPTest"> <span>Test SAP Web Services. Enter Staff ID: </span> <asp:TextBox ID="txtSAPStaffID" runat="server" Width="60px"></asp:TextBox> <span>From: </span> <asp:DropDo

How can I maintain "state" across WCF method calls?

I need to retrieve very large portions of NTFS files (as byte arrays) from a WCF Service.  The needed portions of the files are far too large to efficiently return in a single request, so I need a "chunky" implementation that will return just a portion of the file on each method call. But the entire process needs to be very fast... specifically: I need to avoid the overhead of re-opening the file each time the client requests the next "chunk". So how can I keep the filestream open on the service-side in anticipation of the next request from the client for the next chunk? And if no subsequent request arrives, then close the filestream? That is, implement "lazy close". Or stated another way: Does the code instantiated on the service-side to service an incoming method call remain "alive" after the method returns to the caller?  Or can it be configured that way, like a Singleton SAO behaves in Remoting?? Thanks, DT

How to add some links in the right pane when page loads?

I need to add some links to the latest versions of something to the right side of my page dynamically, when the page loads.the links content come from a link query and stored in a list.so, the problem is adding <a href="somewhere"> </a> tag in my masterpage at onload event using the content of the list .I want to write some code in the page_load event of the master.cs file to solve this.pls help me get rid of it.

what should i add, or change to maintain the addition on the page at button click, yes i know why, b

 - select day using the drop down list  - select the start date using calender (causes an event), a table is made having the dates of the day selected from the start date and shown to the user.  - the table also contains checkbox for each row in a cell  - the user selects the check boxes he wants  - and clicks the button  - the button calls the method in the .cs file which SHOULD TRAVERSE THE TABLE ROWS TO FIND THE ticked checked boxes and the rest is self explanatory the problem ----------- on calender selection change event nothing is lost, but on button click event all things in table created by code is lost. (as the debugger shows that the row count is zero). i understand that in the page cycle the rows etc added the form by the date change event of the calender are not preserved. fine. but whats the solution. please help i have been searching for a solution desperately. the source --------      <asp:Calendar ID="Calendar1" runat="server"          >         <SelectedDayStyle BorderStyle="Dotted" BorderWidth="4px" />         <TodayDayStyle BorderStyle="Solid" BorderWidth="4px" HorizontalAlign="Center"

Accordion control access in Javascript using Content page

Hi, I struggled with some javascript issues, and discovered that the problem seemes to come from a failed ajax control access.Here's my problem:I have a master page and a content page.In my content page, I have an accordion with 2 panes.1rst pane: a textbox and a validation button;                     I want the button to fire javascript function without reloading page (using "return false;");In my master page, I put my ToolkitScriptManager.In my content page, I put my script containing the functions.The problem is that it seems like I can't access the accordion control in my js functions, whereas I can access my textbox value...Here is my source:<%@ Page Language="C#" MasterPageFile="~/Default.master" Title="CLEOR RH | Home" CodeFile="Default.aspx.cs" Inherits="Default_aspx" %> <%@ Register Assembly="AjaxControlToolkit" Namespace="AjaxControlToolkit" TagPrefix="cc1" %> <asp:Content ID="Content1" ContentPlaceHolderID="Main" runat="server"> <script type="text/javascript"> var step1 = false; function pageLoad() { var accCtrl = $find('AccordionCtrl_AccordionExtender');

The state information is invalid for this page and might be corrupted.

I have read the full 6 pages (90 posts) of the thread http://forums.asp.net/7/1173230/ShowThread.aspx and tried just about every single suggestion. nothing has fixed this error.
Sorry for duplicate posting this, I posted this question in that forum thread as well but i have since realized that thread has the "answered" icon so i doubt i will get much help from posting in that thread...

My c# asp.net 2.0 website has not been upgraded from a 1.1 or 1.0 project. I built it from scratch, using 2.0 the whole time. (It would seem most people have this error due to an "upgrading from 1.1" issue, which isn't the case for me)

The error I am getting is:

The state information is invalid for this page and might be corrupted.

and my current web.config file looks like this:

validateRequest="false" >

The page(s) that produce this error are all on Firefox. I simultaneously run IE on the same pages to test things at the same time and find that IE has no conflicts whatsoever, these errors are occuring in Firef

ComboBox in initially closed Accordion pane

I have spent the good part of a full day trying to come up with a solution for this and I have failed.

When the pane loads the problem is the combobox shows but the drop down does not show for it.

I have tried loading the accordion with selectedindex=0 and everything works fine.

I have also tied to set the selectedindex of the accordion in page load but I have not been able to get that to work so not sure if that solution would work or not.

Any help would be great I really need to get this fixed.

Here is the code.

<asp:Accordion Width="90%" runat="server" SelectedIndex="1" FadeTransitions="True" TransitionDuration="100"

Retrieve Previous State Data on return from another page

I have a list page having date in repeater control. And also having some search criteria on the page. Using that I filter the data on the page. Now in repeater I have Edit button. Which allows me to open that record details in another page.
When I come back to list after saving or cancel, the filtered data is gone. I want to keep that filtered record with selected values in filter controls (checkbox, dropdown etc).
I have two options in my mind 1) Session, 2)

download a page lose authentication/session state

Hi All,

I have an issue of keeping the authentication and session state on a downloaded page, on the same website.

I have 2 pages, page 1 will download page 2, using the following code:

Page 1 code:

System.Net.WebClient webClient = new System.Net.WebClient();
byte[] buffer = webClient.DownloadData("http://www.mywebsite.co.uk/page2.aspx");
return Encoding.UTF8.GetString(buffer);

but the authentication is lost, so i needed to re-login in page 2 by writing auto login code myself.
But then the session is lost, so the session variables set in page 1 cannot be share to page 2, and vice versa.

Ideally, i needed page 2 to keep the authentication and session state when i call webClient.DownloadData()

Is there a way to do this?
Many thanks!
