Should I be disregarding HTTP points and Native XML Web Service for 70-431

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 18, 2010    Points: 0   Category :Sql Server
I'm taking the MCTS 70-431 for SQL 2005, and there is a whole chunk of info on HTTP endpoints and Native XML Web Serv.  Now I've found out that these elements have been depreciated in 2008 and WCF.  Should I banging my head learning the old stuff for the test, or just keep it as a foot note.   Rob

Trying to get basic Http URL with querystring parameters processed in WCF service

I'm trying to process a post by a third party server (Paypal) processed by my server through a WCF service. All I need is to get and process the values with the query string. This sounds incredibly easy, but after a weekend, I'm still stumped.  Any help would be greatly appreciated. Passing the following URL from my browser to the service causes a AddressFilter mismatch fault (below). http://localhost:9409/PPInfo.svc/ReadResponse?RESULT=0&AUTHCODE=10001&RESPMSG=APROVED&PNREF=12345 produces <Fault xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/ws/2005/05/envelope/none"> - <Code>   <Value>Sender</Value> - <Subcode>   <Value xmlns:a="http://schemas.microsoft.com/ws/2005/05/addressing/none">a:DestinationUnreachable</Value>   </Subcode>   </Code> - <Reason>   <Text xml:lang="en-US">The message with To 'http://localhost:9409/PPInfo.svc/ReadResponse?RESULT=0&AUTHCODE=10001&RESPMSG=APROVED&PNREF=12345' cannot be processed at the receiver, due to an AddressFilter mismatch at the EndpointDispatcher. Sesame: Spatial OData on Maps, Service Operations, HTTP Basic Authentication

Sesame Data Browser has just been updated to offer the following features for OData feeds: MapsImproved Service operations (FunctionImport) supportHTTP Basic Authentication supportMicrosoft Dallas support Maps Sesame now automatically displays items on a map if spatial information is available in data.This works when latitude and longitude pairs are provided.Here is for example a map of drinking fountains in Vancouver:This comes from DrinkingFountains in http://vancouverdataservice.cloudapp.net/v1/vancouver, which provides latitude/longitude for each fountain. Here is another example, without latitude/longitude this time: This is a map of the customers from the Northwind database, which are located based on their country, postal code, city, and street address. Service operations (FunctionImport) Support for service operations (aka FunctionImports) has been improved. Until now, only functions without parameters were supported. It's now possible to use service operations that take input parameters. Let's take as an example the GetProductsByRating function from http://services.odata.org/OData/OData.svc.This function is attached to Products, as you can see below: A "rating" parameter is expected in order to open the function: After clicking Open, you'll get data as usual:HTTP Basic Authentication New authentication options have been added: HTTP Basic and Dallas (more

Problem consuming 32bit WCF service which references a native Dll in a 64 bit OS(Windows Server 2008

I have some 32bit Dlls which i want to use it in 64bit OS as i do not have a source code of this to recompile it for 64 bit OS. I have created a x86(32 Bit) WCF service which calls these Dlls and hosted it as a Windows Service on a x64(64 Bit) machine using Windows Server 2008. I have created one more x64 client which calls a function in the WCF which in turn calls a function from the 32 bit native Dll. Whenever i try calling this WCF from the client I get an error as given below.Can anybody please guide as to where I am going wrong and what is needed to solve this issue. Thanks in advance for any help.******The Error Message********************System.BadImageFormatException: Could not load file or assembly 'TestWCFWrapper, Version=, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. create web service with http-post method

hi All,

we need to expose a web service to the 3rd party vendor which can only call using POST protocol, NOT SOAP.

So my question, is it better to build a web service or just simply .aspx page?

Also is there any best practice documentation on this.

SQL Server Reporting Service 2008 R2 - The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized.

I got the error "The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized." when I call the Reporting Service Web Service.

The code is very simple:

// Initialise the reporting service Web Service

this.RSWebService = new ReportingService2010();

// Pass windos authentication credentials to Web Service

this.RSWebService.Credentials = System.Net.CredentialCache.DefaultCredentials;

// List children

List<CatalogItem> reports = this.RSWebService.ListChildren(folder, false).ToList();

The SQL Server is installed on a different machine (say server A) from the Web server (say server B). We are using Windows Server 2003.

The code work fine for all the scenario below:

i) Run locally (XP) to call the web service on the sql server

ii) Provide the Network Credentials with the username, password, and domain when calling the web service

iii) If the web server and sql server is using same server (i.e. not distributed)

I'm using windows authentication and impersonation. Any idea?

but when i try to create a new website and i choose HTTP as location (i.e. i use my web server) so when
i go to the browser and i test the Service.svc so i get the folowing error:

HTTP Error 404.3 - Not Found
Description: The page you are requesting cannot be served because of the Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions (MIME) map policy that is configured on the Web server. The page you requested has a file name extension that is not recognized, and is not allowed.

How to get rid of targetnamespace="http://tempuri.org" in Workflow WCF service WSDL (.NET 3.5)

I have created a Workflow Sequential Service which is hosted in IIS.

In the Servicecontract Interface you can define a ServiceContract namespace. Also you can define a namespace in the workflowserviceattributes property. But after changing these namespace properties I still get at the <wsdl : definition targetnamespace:http://tempuri.org.

How can I change that property in a workflowservice (WCF)?

Specifying Where A Service Reference Points In A WinForm Application

I need the actual service reference to the wcf object to be dynamic.  How can I switch between servers (server1, server2) with the same exact signatures and data contracts?

Right now I have to right click and add service reference.  I want to know how I can change the service reference to point to server 1 or server 2 at runtime
